Tyler's always abides. We pass thru Amarillo every year on our way to Arizona. And we always stop for a bite. Except on Sunday and Monday's when they are closed.

2 Meat Plate with Brisket, Ribs, Potato Salad, and Jalapeño Creamed Corn

Traveling with coworkers and saw this pop up when looking for a lunch spot. This place has a real smokehouse ambiance to it. From placing our order to having it in-front of us took less than 5 minutes, pretty fast service. The highlight of the meal for me was the jalapeño creamed corn, nice heat and very creamy. The ribs were pretty solid, great seasoning and a nice bark. The sliced brisket had good flavor but was honestly a bit dry for us, will probably go with the chopped next time. The sauce selection was also really good. I would recommend kicking it up and going with the spicy one.

First stop in Texas for our 2025 roadtrip, Tyler's Barbecue! Our last visit we unfortunately passed through on a Monday but this time we got to try our luck! Grateful we did. We sampled a little bit of everything per advice of some friendly customers in line. Why is everyone in Texas so nice??? I love the hospitality that we just don't have the same of in California. While I don't think this is my all time favorite bbq, not a single item menu missed the mark. Everything was tasty and devoured. Plus it was all very affordable in my opinion. Definitely worth a comeback visit.

Outstanding BBQ if you're in Amarillo. Loved the ambiance and the counter service was fast. We will be back.

3 meat plate with corn, green beans, potato salad and coleslaw - enough for 2 people

Great food - nice people! We got the three meat plate and added two more sides. The brisket and sausage were great - very flavorful. I would pass on the ribs next time. We loved the sides. The corn, coleslaw, potato salad and green beans were all amazing. You can't go wrong here. They also let you ask for specific parts of the brisket which was nice. We like the leaner portion. The inside is comfortable. Clean and an easy stop off of the highway while traveling.

Sadly, Tyler's didn't live up to the hype for us. We did a little research to find the best bbq restaurant in Amarillo, and it seemed Tyler's was the favorite. Maybe we caught them on an off day, but the meal really missed the mark. The brisket was quite dry, the pulled pork lacked flavor, and the beans were not at all what you would expect from a bbq place. There were a couple of good things too. The pork ribs and smoked turkey were good, and the jalapeño corn was pretty good. Overall, the meal wasn't worth the long wait in line. The restaurant was spacious, so it's a good place for a group or family. We are from out of town, so I doubt we will be back. I just wanted to give some honest feedback for those searching for a place to eat in Amarillo.

From out of state and was recommended Tyler's Barbecue. Walked in and the gentlemen working were awesome and greeted us right away and Extremely friendly. The ribs, chopped and sliced brisket was some of the best I have ever had. Every bite was so flavorful, tender and juicy melt in the mouth. Coleslaw excellent. Potato salad with a little heat and the potatoes were small pieces which made it even better and I grew up in a big German family and some of the best I have ever had. We had the banana pudding and was again amazing. Great spot has indoor and a patio that is dog friendly with misters. If you are ever passing though or staying in Amarillo this is a must.

Fantastic! 10/10! The food was hot and fresh! The staff was so friendly. I ordered the #2 sandwich which comes with two meats. Lordy! I got the turkey and chopped brisket with the side of Jalepenos cream corn. All were excellent. I really hate bbq sauce because it's always too sweet, but their hot bbq hit the spot. Top it off with a beer... voila!

Brisket, ribs and sausage Pork belly in some spicy jelly sauce (so good) Bacon Mac and cheese Pinto beans...

Visiting from out of town. I wanted some Texan bbq. Brisket was a center cut, little bit on the dry side but I still ate. Ribs were cooked to perfection. Sausage was sausage BACON MAC AND CHEESE (winner) Pork belly could be a bit softer. But the spicy jelly sauce was so good. The portion was a lot. Two adults and a child, we still had leftovers.

You order food at the register and then sit down, so when you order a dessert, they can put a little note to serve it to you at the end. Speaking of dessert, that pecan cobbler ala mode smacks! The perfect ending to a delicious meal. The meat is so tender and falls off the bone. You don't need a knife to cut anything. A plastic knife will do the job easily. They say the brisket is the star of the show and I can attest to that. However, the turkey is the runner up. I don't know what they do to that Turkey, but my husband and I might have to grab more to take home with us tomorrow. They were so nice too because we ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs and they ran out, so we got the last of the ribs. The also doubled all our meats! We wound up getting 1/2 a lb of turkey and 1 lb of brisket! We are going to be eating some good sandwiches for the next few days. We definitely plan on coming back the next time we are in Amarillo. If you're in the area, definitely come in and grab a bite! They also have plenty of choices in beer too.

I wanted Protein today, was almost inching on parking my rig at the Big Texan again to get myself some steak, but I quickly opted for Mitch's BBQ Texas Style off the exit 75 in Amarillo Texas. Service is fast, lady and elder gentleman were super nice. Food overall no complaints, great brisket. Albeit a bit cold, but decent pork ribs, pretty good Johnsonville*ish polish sausage with cheddar jalapeno. I'd say for value this would beat any Dickeys BBQ located in California with a huge tray of food coming out under 28.00. Think I found my new spot to take a breather in Northern Panhandle Texas. I was just looking for a quick bite before hitting the road again, and the Yelp reviews didn't steer me wrong. I ordered the four-piece combo: two ribs, two chicken tenders, waffle fries, and a drink. Everything was served hot and fresh. The barbecue sauce was solid, nice flavor without being overpowering. The ribs were decent, and the chicken tenders were cooked perfectly, though the breading was way too spicy for me (I ended up peeling it off and still enjoyed the chicken inside). Waffle fries were crispy and satisfying, and the price felt fair for the portion. Nothing fancy--again, gas station--but definitely better than expected. Would I go out of my way for it? Probably not. But for a quick, hot meal on the road? It hit the spot.
