After a long day of travel with nothing more than some Starbucks egg bites to eat - I was hungry and tired and something lighter sounded better but I should have known better not to try a unknown sushi restaurant to go! Basically I enjoyed the seaweed salad somewhat and the tofu soup was pretty tasty! The sushi was inedible and went in the trash! Tried two rolls - Butterfly and seared tuna and both were awful! Fish did not taste fresh- almost tasted like tuna jerky , one had weird minced orange stuff all over it which I think was minced fish but I was really not sure and they were large, sloppy and cut crudely! Passing thru Amarillo and couldn't wait to try Korean BBQ. We were first timers and we had a blast! Aida was our server and she was courteous, friendly and attentive. We were impressed by the quality and the freshness of the meat and vegetables . Everything tasted delicious. We had a fun time grilling and the servers were very prompt at refreshing our grill tops. It's an all-you-can eat grill. Our favorite was the beef bulgogi and we loved pairing the radishes, Kimchi & cucumbers. The dumplings were a savory starter. The service was good, even though it was busy we did not feel rushed. A little bit hard to understand our server at times, but she was kind and helpful. The food was good, not amazing. It lacked flavor (salt). We were given a dish with different sauces which helped but we weren't sure what sauce went with what. The one sauce we did like we didn't get enough of. The restaurant itself is clean and has a good vibe. Good value for the cost too. We don't live in Amarillo but pass through on I-40 frequently and this is a good spot to stop for a good meal. 11:45 am FIRST time in!We walk in. Few customers scatter around. We wait and wait to be seated. Two customers were looking around for help. I go walking to the back no one. Didn't go into kitchen. So we seat ourselves. We look at the decor, nice, we comment on the cooking grate in the center of the table. We have to Cook our food? We didn't know what to expect! Customer said don't get anything but the thicker meats because it is so thin, gets tough very fast or burnt very fast and they bring you any more meat till you eat what you have! What??? Mind you we had stood at the door! Looked for server, Sat our selves down, visited about the restaurant, got customer feedback on what NOT to get, still no service and we walked out, so can't tell you about the food, can't tell you about the service, but I can tell you we will not be back! This place is very good, and the ambience is nice/trendy, definitely try it out if you're craving kbbq!! I would like to add that it's pretty solid kbbq, I only wish the grills were not nonstick(?) because I started to taste an odd flavor after a while;most kbbq places I've been to use stainless steel. Also, the potato side dish was also a little questionable taste/texture wise, but probably just a bad batch! Meats would probably benefit from being marinated a tad longer for more flavor, but that might be a personal preference. Still, I would recommend, kbbq is always good!! read more

We had an amazing New Year's Eve dinner here. It's all you can eat and you cook the food at the table. Andy was our server and he took good care of us. We loved the beef bulgogi, beef with green peppers, and garlic shrimp. And the Godzilla rolls were really good. Had a new experience tonight ate at the Volcano Korean Grill. My wife an I had the all you can eat an it was great with our waitress first night an the guidance of Simon we navigated like champs all was great the sushi rolls an the paggoge an short ribs an shrimp was great the kabobs were great an the kemshi an spicy cumbers were great we had our grill plate changed out several times an the dishwasher was problem not to happy. Food here is incredible, the atmosphere is amazing, and the service is good too. Though I wish they would bring the food out faster. Still the quality of the food makes up for it all. Also it's the little things that make this restaurant stand out compared to others. At most restaurants in Amarillo, their water tastes like toilet water or bleach. Over here they clearly filter it! WOW. Like seriously that makes a huge difference. Most of us don't want alcohol or sugary drinks. So a water with lemon is good enough yet most restaurants can't get it right. We went back this evening, and the quality of food, meats, and sushi have gone down hill. All our meats had a watery, rubber taste and consistency. I ordered a margarita and I'm pretty sure they mixed it with sprite. It was definitely sparkling/carbonated. Our server was also a bit pushy and rude. I don't think we will back. I have been coming to Amarillo for years and can't believe I never stopped in here. This place is amazing. Very cool ambience and the staff are incredibly helpful. A little overwhelming looking at the menu but they walk you through how to order and prepare. You are the hibachi chef and it is so fun. I cannot recommend this place enough. So we are in Amarillo celebrating our sons graduation from TT pharmacy school, and today was just a day of relaxation, and our new Dr took us this this fairly new restaurant. It was an AYCE Korean BBQ, and it was amazing. We had unlimited appetizers, soups, sushi, and, of course, the proteins. My wife ordered a Mizo soup and I a seaweed salad as appetizers. Her soup was good, but my seaweed salad was so yummy. We each ordered a sushi roll, and they were both delicious, but the star of the show was the grilled meats. The bulgogi was yummy as was the steak and short ribs but the start of the show was the garlic pork belly, that was Devine and the little slivered garlic all charred up was a nice little nugget of yummy. The service was excellent but not overbearing. We highly recommend this establishment, and if ever we come back, we will definitely be back read more

Great location, right off i-40. My kids told me to come eat here, which I thought was weird because I heard it was crazy expensive. But my kids told me its $20 for lunch buffet and $30 for dinner. Well, ok, my kids are a bit boujee and are total foodies. So, we took our new graduate to try it out. The restraunt is nice, the have vents on each table too. The staff is nice and tentative. You literally can order anything off the menu but it is portioned, thank goodness. I just made a list of what we wanted to try. Everything was really good. I can't complain. We have been coming here ever since their grand opening, It is quite similar to the ones in California, they just recently removed the glass noodles from their menu which made me so sad because that was a staple piece of Korean BBQ, Never the less we will still continue to come here because it is so good! Five stars all the way. I couldn't resist going the first night even though they told me it would be a two and a half hour wait. I gassed up my car, did some Facebooking and just as I was walking back in at about the 2-hour mark I got the phone call from them that they had a table ready. They actually sat me at a booth as they didn't have any tables but that was fine with me. I didn't realize they wouldn't have any separate dishes since I'd never been to one of these before so it was either order the $30 meal or nothing and after that kind of a wait I certainly wasn't going to leave without eating. The place smelled absolutely wonderful the minute you walked in. Everyone I saw around me seem to be having a wonderful time. People checked in with me frequently to see if I was happy with everything which I absolutely was. Thank goodness I was hungry since it was all you can eat and not what I usually spend for a meal. Sorry to sound cheap but I am on a budget. This was worth every penny though. They cook it at the table on a little sunken grill . Everyone I dealt with was super super nice, friendly and informative. They start by bringing you six little dishes of various condiments and sides. I don't remember all of them but there were cucumbers, potato salad that was fantastic, kimchi and others I can't think of right now. I started out ordering the beef bulgogi which has been a years long favorite of mine and some shrimp. The beef was tender and flavorful although didn't have a strong flavor as what I have had in the past. That might be good for someone just trying it. The shrimp were very difficult to peel. Finally a nice young man told me he just eats the whole thing. I tried that and it worked. No tummy problems the next day from it, lol. I also got a small bowl of white rice which was perfectly cooked and a nice complement to the flavors in the meats. Once I felt like I could hold a little more I ordered the fatty pork which wasn't as tender as the beef. At the end when I probably shouldn't have ordered another single thing, I couldn't resist trying the mushrooms. They were fresh mushrooms grilled alin butter but I might have wished they were a little more grilled and soft. However I ate everything. I left nothing even though I was stuffed when I left. Because they don't have their liquor license yet they were letting people have one complimentary beer. To be honest that was more than enough for me. I didn't want to fill up on liquids but rather, concentrate on the food. I forgot to mention there were also three spices available. One was a flavorful vinegar, one was a chili sauce that wasn't overly spicy and one was a dry spice mix that was really good and I was dipping my meats in it. I hope I didn't leave anything out because Yelp no longer allows us to edit if we think of something later. Next time I will go back for lunch because it's $20 instead of $30 but I can tell you from the point of view of a person on a limited budget that it was well worth the $30, closer to $40 with the tax and tip of course. I'm really glad I got over there to try them out and can't wait to go back! read more

We had the takoyaki balls for appetizers and they were CHEFS KISS!! The meat selections are nice, but most of the food is bland. So it wouldn't hurt to bring some soy sauce with you. After the opening teasers, late opening, delays and more delays, it was worth the wait. I would recommend. For a soft opening, the wait wasn't too bad (25 min), other people coming in after us left after hearing it was 1-2 hours wait time, the service and staff were pretty good. I recommend the gyoza, beef bulgogi, garlic chicken, and teriyaki chicken. I do not recommend the spicy chicken, unless you don't mind it being spicy going down...and down. Will have to try the pork dishes on a different visit one of these days. read more
