My wife had the 4 whole wings platter with collard greens and red beans & rice. We will be back! The catfish and mac & cheese ranked as some of the best I've ever eaten. My wife, who loves collard greens, said these were top tier. The potato salad was very good. Nice sized portions. Clean, casual environment.

This is definitely a local gem. The location I visited was off Fifth Ave not too far from Carlow University, which is where we were dropping our kid off at college. I heard the chicken and catfish were really good and you get your money worth. There was free parking. No place to eat inside just seats for waiting. Cash only!! There is an ATM inside the restaurant. Staff was friendly. I kept adding on to my large order. Gotta fed the kids. Lol! They cook to order so nice hot, fresh food! Fries were seasoned and delicious. Catfish and oysters were really good. Catfish had just right amount crisp to the nuggets. Oysters good as well. My dad said the shrimp were good. I haven't been able to eat shrimp lately. My son said the chicken wings were really good. Cole slaw was decent and I normally do not eat that out but it was. The staff was nice. The location had ample parking. Nice portion size for money paid. Food was really good. The only downside which I think is universal was fries not good in microwave layer. Wish I had my airfryer to bring them back to life. Anyway, check out Hook in Pittsburgh!!

The neighborhood didn't look like the greatest. My wife almost didn't want me to go into the gas station. But, I was on a quest to find it. Service was okay. The guy helping told me to get 8 piece dinner which included chicken, greens and mac n cheese. They gave me more than 8 pieces with lots of them being wings. No complaints since I like wings. The chicken was tasty. Quik-It Chicken was an okay place for fried chicken. It was cheap, sketchy, and gave lots of food. What more can you ask for when you are a tourist in a new city?

I ended up in Dee Jay's because the BBQ place that I wanted to try had changed their hours, and Dee…read moreJay's came up on Yelp as an alternative. Unfortunately, "BBQ" is not a well defined term. This is not a true smokehouse, but rather it's something like Denny's or Applebee's that just happens to have ribs as a signature dish. It was dead inside (literally and spiritually) when I arrived just after the lunch rush. There were a couple old guys at the bar, and until another couple came in halfway through my meal, I was all alone. I was still dying for something BBQ, so I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and fries. I can't say anything was bad, but nothing was particularly good either. The pork was bland, the fries were frozen, and the sauces were basic and boring. That can describe the entire place. It might be a decent place for breakfast or a club sandwich, but this is not a BBQ joint. I'm not going as low as 1 start because the staff were very friendly and efficient, and the place was very clean.

I looked at the menu and was a little flabbergasted from all the wing sauce choices. Needless to say, these wings were on point. I tried the mr. North side sauce which was excellent. I'm sure it's not the healthiest meal, (as the wings sit on top of fries and are covered in your choice of sauce) but they were delicious. Perfect for the occasional indulgence. Overall, I was very happy with my meal and had a great experience. It was takeout so I can't speculate on what it's like to dine in. Either way, we will try it again.

The menu is so creative - with fun names, epic combos, and literally a fat kids dream of toppings! It was hard to settle on a single fry to order with our friends, but hey... that keeps them coming back. We ordered the: Chubby's - Spicy Garlic Parmesan Fries We asked to substitute bacon for the chicken and they were game!! The sauces were such a drizzling championship of flavor with teriyaki glaze, garlic parm sauce, parm cheese, melted cheddar, and hot sauce. Such intense flavor and so expertly sloshed on there! I could put that garlic parm on everything!!! Don't worry about the name saying spicy... it really wasn't at all. The fries were fresh cut for each order and perfectly crisped even to withstand the topping piles! That bacon - crispy, greasy, perfection!!!!!! Find them! Wait for it! Enjoy!!
