I know I sound like I don't come from the year 2022, especially despite how much time I spend…read moretraveling the US, but this is the first time I've ordered hotel room food delivery... it's also the 1st time I've had Papa John's food. I know... I'm an anomaly.
On this rainy night with tornado warnings & continual lights out at the hotel for a few hours, the Buffalo chicken pizza was very welcome. I ordered it with bacon, but there was none or else it was scant. Buffalo sauce was nicely spicey... not too hot, decent amount of cheese & chicken, okay crust (soft, not too thick)... I think I could have ordered it crispy & thin, but again, as someone who's new to online food delivery & probably wouldn't bother again, I may have overlooked that option.
Tasted alright, price was good, found a 25% off promo code online (search before ordering), it came in 30-min (projected time was 60) & the delivery guy was very friendly & nice. Tipped $4 online but gave him an extra $2 for hotel room delivery to the 3rd floor, which was very convenient not to have to comb the hallways in my jammies & with the higher gas prices now, I'm sure it helped take the sting out of his 10-mi RT.
Not my fave pizza (I'm used to living in large cities with a Little Italy district, so I'm spoiled with real, authentic, Italian pizza), but for a rainy, windy evening after driving 400-mi, I was happy to have found PJ's nearby.
Buffalo wings were absolutely drenched in sauce, so much so, that I had to rise it off in the sink. They were meh.
3* out of 5.
+1* for fast delivery to the room & professional, friendly delivery guy.
Great delivery lad & thank you to the kitchen staff for making my pizza so quickly. It's not great food, but to be fair, I'm not a fast food eater... I have it only when on the road, so others may enjoy it more than I.
