Since switching, my bill has quadrupled. I've tried reaching out for support, but the responses have been unhelpful and frustrating. Please do not waste your time or money. if negative stars could be given, I would. for the past few months, I've had to call in and have 33 dollars removed from my account due to being charged an energy surge protection plan, I had cancelled it back in April but apparently no one got the memo, so they kept charging me for it. every time I called I was assured that the problem had been fixed, idk what they consider being fixed but we clearly don't share the same idea of fixed, as I had to call again today and explain that I had paid it, went into my bank history and told her the date it was paid. I was put on hold for 10 min so she could "fix" it. I try to remain calm but it's so frustrating when, 1- they don't listen to what you have to say and 2-it's hard to understand them. We are currently looking for new providers since our plan is due to expire. If anyone has recommendations, please let me know read more

This is the worst service I have ever experienced. They reported by bill to the credit bureau without properly contacting me and they refuse to do anything to fix it. I did not even know I owed a final bill as it was not properly explained or contacted about the balance and I paid it off as soon as I received notification. I called and keep getting the run around. I called today and was told to call North Lane. I didn't have service with North Lane. Every time I call it's a different story. I tried adding service to our rental home, 3 times, I sub the documents that they requested, since the tenets had an outstanding balance they needed proof we were not related. But, even if I submitted everything and called 3 times went through the prompt of accepting the contract they never connected it. 3 weeks without electricity. My husband called and they connected it, they said that because I was rude, I was not rude the first couple of times but after having to be on the phone for hours twice for them to tell me the same thing the third time who wouldn't. On the third time, I told them, I am on my lunch break I will have to call back and if this doesn't get resolve I will find another company. This company plays with the customers time. I cancelled service on June 30th, had an overcharge refund due. They do not even handle their own refunds. They are quick to take out your money but cannot reverse it and send back to your auto-draft account. Didnt release my funds for 3 weeks to 3rd party (TXU manager called it a partnership, it's a 3rd party). It's not the amount, it's the principle of how companies keep your money and then make interest off it. They have by far the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. read more

I've used TXU multiple times and I have trouble every single time. I highly recommend any other company. You would think they would be good because they're a large company, so it seems like the correct choice if you have rental properties that need power between tenants... WRONG! Horrible company!! In November I made a payment of 104.03 While making the payment I used the old acct that I closed 5360. Within min I noticed it and tried to cancel it and add my new acct. A month went by I get a bill sky high. I tried to explain I made 2 payments because one was closed. TXU still charged me 25.00 return check fee 10.00 disconnect fee. 5.00 late fee. iIt added up to 50.00. My bill ended up being 195.00 from a 104.00 bill. TXU received their money but still charged me you recvd 2 payment 1 bounced due to acct being closed. 25.00. Where did all these fees come from. And the person I spoke to was rude as hell! Do better! I sent them an email to check why I had a bill of $65 when I was not home for that month. They replied saying call us if you want us to look into your account. When I called, the rep said - "That is what you consumed and that is what you have to pay". The refrigerator was on but rest of the appliances and the thermostat were off. This is just 1 bedroom apartment. That rep was not helpful at all. Instead of helping me, she was more interested in getting my account renewed. When I informed her, I want to check other options considering my bill with TXU is always high, so I won't be renewing it. Her response was - "changing your service provider is not going to help you". Seriously? I have spoken with their customer support twice. Both the times they were so loud and stuck-up. read more

TXU is an awful scam company. We called them to cancel service when we moved but made a mistake on the date.We called them back *within the hour* to add a date to the cancelation, but they refused to honor it and made us pay again to setup services, fees and all. We were told that we were being charged a deposit that we'd get back, but when we called after the final date to do so were told it was actually payment on a previous balance - which wasn't true! Now we're out an extras 85 bucks and just get the runaround when I call. read more

TXU Sent my bill to a collector after they locked me out of the app which I'd been paying on all year. The mail didn't get to me the bill until 1.5 months later to which I instantly paid. No customer has time to run around and find all the new ways to pay when you're in the middle of a move or a working professional. Just like their prices, they're only interested in themselves. What an inconvenience and ridiculous threat when I as a customer paid faithfully all year. Ask me how many times I had to yell "speak to customer service" into the phone before I was teleported to discuss credit score with India... We've been with TXU since December. Everything has went well till we went on vacation for 6 days to see family. We had a lot of food in the freezer and fridge. Keyword HAD we get home finally tired and find out to see that our apartment is 84 degrees and all of our food all of the meat and everything in the freezer and fridge is bad! Just to find out someone else filed a new account underneath our apartment address and TXU failed to even verify with us. Never even let us know about this before hand! My bill is due 5/15. I had a past due balance of $80,so i called in on 5/9 to pay it. The rep said i will charge the card on file for $80. Then he says opps i accidentally charged you $300.60. i asked for a supervisor who told me they reversed it. Now this was fri 5/9 they haven't given me my money back and today is the 13th 2 days before my regular bill is due. This is the worst light company ever! I got my lights disconnected on Friday my app wasn't working so I had to make a payment arrangement on the website log in through there! Nobody never never fixed my app! I got my lights disconnected because they said they never got the payment arrangement! They turned them on after I spoke to the supervisor! They disconnected my lights again today 04/15/2025 not even the 10 days grace period I was going to pay my lights with my paycheck! Way too expensive! Theres nothing special about TXU. They give off the same energy as any other company. The lights don't shine brighter and the AC doesn't blow any colder than any other company. I'm most annoyed that they advertise the money saving sales to reel you in. YOU DONT SAVE MONEY!!!!!!!. I'm on the ultimate season pass which is 4 months 50% off, 4 months 25% off and 4 regular priced months. October and November were two of my regular priced months and the bills are through the roof. My estimated bill for November is $213-$261. I've never had a bill over $140 in the month of November. And I come from Las Vegas where it's 10x hotter and only have one energy company. NVEnergy could literally charge whatever they want in Las Vegas because they're the only option. You would think TXU wouldn't rip their customers off considering all the other energy company options here in Texas. These guys are a bunch of thieves and bottom feeders. I signed up for their winter promotional plan only for my usage to double. I paid more than I normally pay during winter months despite their 50% off and less colder weather. They couldn't explain why my bill doubled. they said they will send someone to review the meter at no charge. I concurred. I went ahead and cancelled the service, paid the cancellation few and 2 months later boom another bill for meter read ?? These folks are criminals and their word mean absolutely nothing. I received an email telling me my autopay credit card is expiring soon. I tried logging into the website to update my info and got an error message. I tried using their app and got an error message. I called their toll free line and got an AI bot that says there is no record of my account number (that I took from both my statement and the email). I tried my driver's license number and there is no record of my account. I tried my phone number and their is no record of my account. The AI bot was stuck in a loop and wouldn't give me a representative. After hanging up and calling back twice more I finally got a representative. I couldn't understand a word she was saying. Tried again (4th call) and got someone I could understand who said their system was being updated (Noon CST) and to call back in a couple of hours. At this point it will be easier just to call another electric service and switch my provider. TXU isn't even close to being the cheapest but I have stuck with them because I trusted their level of service. Without that they're pointless. read more

TXU promised a "BONUS" of $50.00 VISA Debit. TXU gave recipient a Choice of an actual card by mail or "online" debit, as long as first Bill was paid BEFORE DUE DATE. I chose by mail & Paid Before due date, only to receive several Email notifices that "bonus" would be by "online" debit, NOT debit card by MAIL, as PROMISED. When trying to access "online" VISA this led to NOWHERE, I finally called in & spoke with a TXU associate who said I would receive $50.00 credit on my TXU BILL. I asked the associate WHY didn't TXU provide this in the first place Instead of giving me Frustrating RUN AROUNDS. read more

Txu is a good electric company but they have some customers service representatives that are not professional and very disrespectful, I had to wait yesterday when I called for over 34 minutes to speak with a supervisor because the unprofessional service representative and today I've had to wait over 30 minutes to speak with someone and once they get on the phone they seem to have attitude, I tried to explain and she kept saying well that not what she was told, I said to the supervisor that's why I asked to speak with someone else because the service rep was not listening and not being professional, I told them I record my conversation so I can provide feedback on what I said and on how someone is conducting business, I'm sure it's good customer service reps but it's also a few who don't care, I'm a person who tries to be respectful of others and I would hope to receive the say, but these last few days the customer service reps have been very disrespectful and unprofessional and that's why I'm posting this review and I'm very unhappy with the last few days of unprofessional service from the reps, in my opinion if more people would complain about this, it would stop or be check on, just review my conversations with the customer service reps within the last few days of recording of txu and you can judge for yourself and what I'm complaining about read more

I thought they were a good company, but boy was I wrong! I made an overpayment on my account for 119.83 and they kept giving me the run around regarding refunding my money. I spoke with three different reps and 2. supervisors and still was given the run around. I was very disappointed in the service I received. whatever you do, don't make any overpayment on your account, because they want to keep it to apply it to your next bill. read more
