OnWhore is an absolute disgusting corporate entity that does not care about its customers. Between my local city government and OnWhore, no one will take responsibility for tree trimming. My case involved an uncooperative neighbor with one tree on their property growing into and around both electrical and cable lines in addition to a separate tree on their property growing into a switch/junction/transformer box (whatever it is called). The two pictures were captured over a year ago and still I am unable to get any help from the neighbor, the city, or OnWhore! It seems the only remedy available will be when a storm takes out power rather than avert potential problems in advance by someone acting. Get this folks. I called encore about some storm damage and some sparking in my fuse box. I'm in Salado. They came out and without a reasonable explanation cut my power off and left when talking to the Butthead. He said I need to call my own electrician to get a coupling put on. I asked for a more detailed explanation so that I could tell my Electrician, which is ridiculous that I'd have to call someone else. I am in a business and Saturday is my best day. I'm without power. The only electrician I could find is in Austin and he's on his way. Everything was working fine, except for the picture shown below which he made it worse it was just slanted. The guy was a total smart ass and kept trying to overtake me. He did come in later and apologize probably cause his boss got on his butt too bad. They have a monopoly in this area or I would change from encore to someone else. The saga continues. After paying the Electrician $850 I call encore to turn the power back on. They informed me that I have to have the city of Salado do an inspection of the electrician's work. The electrician is a master electrician. Of course the city is closed today and tomorrow and they open at 9 AM on Monday so my business is down the drain for at least two days plus how long it takes Monday to get the inspection then get Oncor out there. I did get a text from Oncor saying my power has been restored, but it wasn't. Then I call the office which is very difficult to get past the computer speaking girl and then they informed me what I've already mentioned. Oncor is a huge power company. Had corrosion underneath the meter. Almost two weeks ago we called them out because the power was surging and there was corrosion on the actual meter which they replaced, but they could not see the corrosion on the connections underneath. No issues until today when power started surging again and Oncor came out. When the technician hooked his gadgets up to test the connection from the transformer to the meter the piece actually broke away and there was corrosion underneath. We had to call an electrician to fix it. When I called them to reconnect they told me it normally takes three days. We have livestock and are on a well, so water is reliant upon electricity. Our cattle, sheep, and goats would have been out of water by the morning and they sent a crew out to reconnect tonight because of it. Very thankful! read more

Oncor needs to evaluate who they contract through to trim their trees! I totally understand that trees need to be trimmed for safety. But the reviews for Lewis Tree Trimmers are horrible! Lewis Tree Services destroyed my AC condenser. Hit the side of my mobile and scratched my shed. Their risk management is in New York! Nowhere near Texas. I have learned that Lewis Tree Services is the largest vegetation services in the US. Maybe they need to drop a notch or two. Just look at their reviews around the US. Denying claims with overwhelming evidence! I will have cameras installed. After I pay off this 5000 unexpected bill. Too bad it takes video to prove. There is no road behind my mobile. Add to the list of negative reviews. Of late, have had issues with over voltage at 140 volts or more. Causes electronics to shot off and LED lights to flicker. Called and can only talk to the automated answering thing. No help at all. Had called them the other night for the exact same problem and got the automated thing as well. Finally during business hours I did speak with somone and they said someone would come out. Nobody ever showed up. Automated thing says problem has been resolved. Nope, not even close. Power has been over voltage twice in the past 24 hours. Public service commission keeps granting them rate increases which is a joke when they are getting over 5 cents per KWH of power. Almost half of my power bill is not for the power but for Oncor service is not great. Their everybody is busy on other calls when not a drop of rain, now a power outage in the city, not a blade of ice on a tree, or a lightning bolt in the area. What a horrible bunch of losers!! My renter has become very ill & has been in ICU for over two months! I called Oncor, FIVE TIMES! I asked simply for her retail provider, ie Gexa, Reliant, Constellation, whoever, so I could call and let them know what was going on & pay her bill to avoid her power being turned off. They refused, over & over again...it's private info! I asked why I would want that info & what I could do with it. I just wanted to help her. They wouldn't help & what happened, her power got turned off! It was off for four days when I discovered it. Since the disconnect notice was sent in the mail, and I don't have access to her mail, and Encore wouldn't help me, it ruined everything. The meat rotted, everything was spoiled. There were maggots and gnats in the refrigerator and it leaked food juice & water everywhere! It ruined the refrigerator and the flooring underneath it. If I could sue Oncor, you bet i would! I am a resident of Townbluff Condo community. the first time that we lost the electricity, oncore employees came with heavy equipment and restored the electricity the following day. As part of digging they messed up our sprinkler system and HOA had to pay another company $487.19 for the repair. A while later, as they were pulling cable in another section of community, they run over the sprinkler head and I had to fix it myself as volunteer. few days later, they did it again. This time, we spoke with the manager of the oncore team who had come to do the inspection, he called his team and gave us his word that the repair will be done withing next 4 8 hours. Three weeks passed with no action and again we had to repair the mess they left behind. If they show up at your location for repair, you may want to check for possible damage they have done. read more

Oncor is terrible. If you're having new construction installed beware. They have a crew for every little step of the project. Each crew will come out every 2 weeks. It's been 6 weeks and no power. Absolutely ridiculous.I stated the request for construction on January 16th. March 3rd: Oncor cashed the $10,280.34 check March 11th: Dug 4 holes by hand for poles 3 hours. March 25th: Installed 4 poles. 1.8 hours April 8th: Installed underground cable 48 minutes They have worked less than 6 hours in 6 weeks. Pathetic. In general, I don't have major issues with Oncor. There's really only a handful of reasons why people will post. Either they have a major complaint (often situational), extremely satisfaction (again often situational), or bill related. I'm not a fan of my charges continuously increasing year after year with Oncor. They say it's to cover all the work they need to do (ie: perhaps after storms, serving more residents, etc) but that's not on me. You need to balance your budget better and not take it out on your customers. We usually need to contact a few times a year when inclement weather comes and knocks out our power. The automated text system is handy but leaves much to be desired in terms of resolution. For example, with sporadic outages, they tell you it's resolved but sure enough 30 minutes later, outage again. And you have to re-report it. Just think no sleep whole night.. re-reporting the same situation every 30 minutes the whole night. Every time the outage occurs, it wakes the whole family up (light sleepers anyway). Urge to do better. When you say you fixed something, actually make sure it's resolved. read more

My concern is that we report a problem and a few minutes later we receive a text or an email stating that the problem has been corrected when it has not. I'm not sure wny this continues to occur, but it is irritating as we continuously have to call back to report that the issue is ongoing. For 6 years our new home in Carlson place Georgetown Tx has had many man power outages. this is the second year we have been waiting for stations and equipment on a loop to be replaced. Last year we were told it would be done. Recently we were told it might be done but new business is the priority. This bad loop affects almost 2500 homes. Our power was down 4 times in the last two weeks. Since January it has been down a dozen times. Last august when we had an outage two days in a row is when I was told about the loop which is probably 10 miles distance. It was in the works then and nothing has been done since almost a year later. Then I was told the trees were to be trimmed last Wednesday. they were not. So when the wind blows really hard it affects the power lines.
