This time we needed sailing bibs for my wife because the weather was a real wet the first day of an event in Duck we were running. WE went in and really got no attention. Pretty weird, the woman behind the counter was talking a lot of semi jibberish and not making much sense and the old man behind the counter was not paying attention. I bet we shopped for about 5 to 10 minutes and really thankful I understand West Marine. I partially blame the end of season blues and they were very low on inventory probably for the same reason but really this was just ridiculous. I did find exactly what we were looking for with no help from the staff. All they did was ring up our $100+ sale. And the girl behind the counter continued to ignore us and talk loudly to herself about the store fixtures or layout or.. who knows. Will be back but only because it is West Marine, not because of the staff they have.

I called the nags head location to ask if they would take them back. The manager, Jake, explained that he would have to see them. That is just fine, so I brought them to him with all the tags and the receipt then when we grab another pair to exchange them with, the Grommet on the new pair was cracked. Jake handled it like a pro and gave us the benefit of the doubt and let us return the shorts so, I ended up spending $200 more, because he was so gracious to us. Jake was a professional and I appreciate it. He does a good job. He should be commended.

My service with Chase was phenomenal from entering the store to showing me every aspect of technical gear I would need on a two week European hike, or even local in the Appalachian. I walked out knowing much more and still researching. They did not have the specific hard to locate Lowa boots I wanted to try on. They are rarely retail, closest is NC. No purchases yet, but soon.

I have a walking disability and was able to go up in the parasail, but more importantly, land safely back in the boat. We also opted for the picture package and were excited to see all the shots when we got home. Super fun! This was my first time jet skiing so I was nervous at first as the jet ski throttle was very sensitive and I ended up jerking my passengers around until I got the hang of it. After a few minutes I got it and we had smooth skiing. There's a large area to drive around in and we were able to get some nice speed.

They called three hours before my reservation to tell me they were cancelling my reservation because they sent out a longer reservation today and the boat wouldn't be back in time. Obviously they were making more money off the longer rental, so mine for tossed out. They did offer a late evening time slot but when I advised I had a three year old and that time was past her bedtime, they said the best they could do was a refund. Try explaining that to an excited three year old that was expecting her first time out on a boat.

Customer support if you are shipping is hit or miss, we ordered online and went to pick up only to find it was canceled. They had a similar backpack there and we ended up just getting that one. I also really appreciate the special sports camps they host. We recently participated in one with Coach Dupe from Play Your Position, and that experience actually led us to enroll my son in the program. He's now thriving there, which makes the connection even more meaningful. However, this is more than a retail store! It offers merchandise for every sport, and there was an exercise class in session, along with several sets of parents watching their children climb the rock wall that's conveniently situated in the center of the building. Wow! My first thought was, I need to tell my niece about this rock wall opportunity for her adventurous kids! There's a cost for the climb, but a quick glance at the pricing seemed reasonable.
