They also seemed to have an assortment of sizes. The woman who met us was super kind and gave us lots of great local recommendations and helped us through the choices at sign in! Jonny, Charlie and Drake were champs! All SUPER kind and patient with our questions and taught us a lot about how higher altitude hang gliding works. We were also interested in they were eager to share their knowledge! The actual ride up, in the sky and descent, could not have been more smooth and professional and comfortable, and one of a kind lifetime experience! It really is like being a bird! We were so glad we had purchased the two View video option because it just let us relive the experience!!!! I cannot recommend this experience and their people more! Treat yourself-it IS worth it!!

We were attending an event which we flew to in California and this was a gift needed to arrive in that timeframe. Almost 8 days after the order was placed, the item had still not arrived. I called several numbers on website several times explaining the situation but only reached VOICEMAILS. Not one person returned my calls. After we returned home, the item still had not been delivered to the recipient. It finally arrived 10 days after purchase - not 2-3 as indicated when ordered and paid for. After I emailed them I did not receive a personal response - instead an automated message telling me a portion of the amount I paid for the item was being partially refunded (the expedited shipping cost). I requested a full refund. This business needs to take inventory of the responsibility they have ensure elevated customer service and satisfaction. I would not recommend anyone place online orders from Kitty Hawk Kites after this experience. A huge disappointment as a business.

She is an excellent swimmer (on swim team) and likes to waterski and sail--she was excited for surfing. When we arrived, the two instructors were extremely disaffected. They barely introduced themselves, didn't ask the names of the participants or any other info. There were 8 people ranging from 9-young adult. There were two instructors. After about a 5 min on-land lesson, they went out. The boards for the little kids were the same size as the adults. No one helped my daughter or the other two younger kids get out. Once out, my daughter was able to catch a wave or two for a second and I think she really liked it, but sadly battling back out past the breaking waves she took a surfboard to the face and got knocked down pretty hard. She got back up, but neither instructor noticed any of it. The other kids also struggled; by one hour in of the 90 minute lesson all three of your kids under 12 had quit. They brought their boards in. The instructor's either didn't notice or didn't care. I think for $90 per person, the lesson should have been a way to share the fundamentals and get kids excited about surfing. My child instead said she felt scared by it, didn't know how to get out from under the board at one point, and that the instructors were mean. So, that was kind of the opposite of what I'd hoped. If you say you can teach kids, please hire people who like children. Staff it so that young children get enough attention that they don't have a negative experience. Maybe greet paying customers either a smile or a hello or a greeting. Altogether this was a really bad experience. I also wrote to the email listed on the website and heard no response.

Our instructor Megan was absolutely fantastic and we couldn't have asked for a better coach for our three kids. We really liked her approach of sharing her knowledge on all aspects including how the waves are formed, understanding impacting dynamics like wind, and the approach she took to ease our kids into it for the first time. So cool and a bit surprising to see the two older ones actually catching some waves by the end of their first lesson. We would highly recommend Outer Surf and Megan as an instructor to anyone wanting to learn to surf and have a fun time doing so. Our kids were ages 15, 14 and 7. Fantastic experience!

They WOULD NOT exchange the clearly defective fishing pole! Instead the worker who sold me the pole 1 hour prior accused me of getting sand in the reel! Lasted me an entire night of surf fishing and losing my shrimp to a bunch of bastard crabs too afraid to be dragged from the surf. They knew I'd Old Bay their asses because I hail from Baltimore. They just took the shrimp and ran for the hills...err, sand? Wherever crabs go. The staff didn't mind that I rudely showed up 5 minutes before they closed, and were super fast about ringing me up and getting me out the door so they could close this cool little shop up for the night. Tons of poles, reels, rigs, hooks, etc. Tons of bait choices, including live bait (like worms and minnows).
