We visited the winery because they were part of the Loudoun Heights Holiday Ornament Trail * stop 5 for us! They were also hosting The Charles Washington Symphony so they were VERY busy! The Symphony required reservations, which we did not have, though we were lucky to get 2 seats by a barrel table. Staff at the front counter were friendly. Wines were nice. I liked the way the flight was served! Tasting room is pretty large and there is a lot of outdoor space as well. Two Twisted Posts is situated in a row of long standing wineries south of Hillsboro. It has a nice setting in the vineyards with both an indoor tasting room and a nice patio area. Obviously very dog friendly as we saw both some vineyard pets as well as guest dogs. Our sommelier was quite friendly and knowledgeable. Where it fell a little flat was the actual wine. The reds we tasted were very much on the lighter less robust side, which is not really our taste. For folks who enjoy lighter reds and white wines, this may be a good option. read more

What a darling and beautiful winery! My friends and I participated in a 5k through the grounds here. The winery is beautiful and showcases some spectacular Fall foliage! We then sipped on some wine after. I got a red wine flight and enjoyed all the wines. I particularly loved the Don't Call Me a Cab so got a glass of it, too. One of my friends sampled some beers and really liked them as well. There was live music when we went and it was such a lovely time to sit outside in the Fall crisp air, listening to great music and chatting with friends! read more

I came here with a group on a Saturday and there were 10-15 people inside with live music playing. Nice atmosphere but with a live band playing inside there was just too much sound bouncing off the walls. Sounds lame to complain about noise but when you come to a winery you're generally looking to interact with whomever you are with. They try here they really do but the wine has never hit the mark. This is the second time I've been and it's always been the same wine quality, unfortunately. read more

This was our first stop and it's not a bad place, but I did not get the warm and fuzzy feelings. When we walked in, we were greeted, but it seemed like the staff was distracted to a certain degree , It seem like they had limited offerings as far as wine goes and we opted for the wine flight and really they didn't spend much time explaining any of the different wines like we would've appreciated, but nevertheless, we read the card came with the flight. There is plenty of indoor seating in a big open area and it was very clean and presentable , the outside had some seating from what we seen, and it was very welcoming. My husband and I finally made it to Two Twisted Posts, which has been on my radar for awhile. As soon as we pulled up I knew the experience was going to be just what I needed after a stressful few months. We were greeted by empty fire pits, outdoor games (ladder toss, croquet), and beautiful views. Inside, a box of kid-friendly board games immediately caught my eye (I'm always on the hunt for places we can bring our kids). The tasting associate was so down to earth and we enjoyed chatting with her and learning about the piebald deer that used to be on their property (and the reason behind the name of the Piebald White wine). We ordered a white and red flight to enjoy outside by the fire pit. We also got to "trick or treat" and take candy to enjoy with our flights (cab and Snickers - trust me!). We took a little walk around the property and I immediately relaxed. All the wines were very good, but the Viognier was remarkable. In another life of being my laptop and work remotely from this winery:). I truly expect this winery to be a new favorite that we return to over and over, similar to Three Creeks which has consistently good wine, service, and a relaxing atmosphere. Had an amazing day here yesterday! My buddy and I, who are staying in Martinsburg, WV for work from NYC, decided to visit here Saturday around 2pm. The vineyard is big, well kept, and beautiful! There is tons of outdoor seating (they also have indoors for when the weather isn't good). You are outdoors on grass , so some bugs and gnats come with that. You can bring your own bug repellent but they also have some available, just ask. They also have personal fans that are attached to water bottles to help keep you cool if you'd like. They have a few different options depending on your group size etc. You can do flights or bottles and the really cool thing is, if you do the bottle option and don't finish them, they will recork it for you to take. We opted for the flight of 6 samples for $15. We got 3 reds, 2 whites, and 1 rose. Even if you aren't a big wino, you would still enjoy these because none were too dry. My favorite was the "don't call me a cab" so I bought a bottle ($25) to go. I also had a glass of their peach sangria ($10). It was tasty but could use a bit more kick; it was more sweet than strong. This is a perfect spot for a date or group. They have cheese platters, s'mores kits, and sometimes food trucks. You can bring your own picnic stuff to go along with the wines. They have games like connect four, jenga (small and jumbo), and cornhole. They also had a live performance when we were there (Jessie jams), she was great and only made the vibe that much better! U can walk and explore the vineyard at your own leisure! read more

We stopped by this winery after Maggie Mallic winery. It is relatively small size winery but there are many picnic tables. This place is dog friendly and dogs are running around the place. We really enjoyed the wine especially red ones. We end up getting Merlot. I highly recommend this place. read more

More of a busy, bar feel. The wine was good, though not my favorite from the region. I can't say I had anything that particularly jumped out of the glass for me, but I also didn't have anything I didn't like either. We sat down for about an hour and drank. They had some live music, but bless his heart, he wasn't much of a singer. Staff was nice and engaging and kept things flowing nicely. Good mix of couples and families while we were there. We visited Two Twisted Posts Winery right after our visit to Maggie Malicks. I made sure I parked somewhere where no one could block us in! We went inside and were promptly greeted by the wine pourer - I believe he introduced himself as "Kosko." He was an extremely verbose and gregarious individual. He was holding forth in the wine tasting room - and we were his captive audience. He was very descriptive and theatrical during the entire wine tasting process - and I mean that in the very best and hilarious way. It was both entertaining and informative. Two Twisted Posts should be on everyone's Virginia wine radar. We have been to many of the area wineries and only made it down Harpers Ferry Road as far as Breaux. As we just learned, we didn't venture far enough. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming - we were immediately greeted by Casey and Caroline. Casey gave us an excellent tasting session - she was very knowledgeable about the wines and also threw in some fun stories about the winery. Now to the wine- the tasting led us between dry and sweet, mixing between whites and reds. Honestly, this was great as it kept it interesting as well as tasty. I'm a Chardonnay lover and usually Virginia chards are lacking, but TT's was "a classic elegant rich wine that dances gently on the tongue." I agreed. Ultimately, we ended up buying bottles of cab franc and petit verdot. But we didn't leave right away - we sat on a cozy couch and enjoyed a glass of wine. Long story short, I can't wait to go again! I really like the vibe here! The staff is friendly and accommodating, the space is accessible, and overall it feels like an easy-going, chill place. (I'm not super into the kind of winery where you feel like you should have worn expensive jewelry and should know certain words and wine concepts in order to enter.) The prices ($15 for a flight) seem reasonable to me, and I like that they have some food options (cheese & crackers, chips, etc) but also totally encourage people to bring in their own outside food. This was our first stop of our wine tour this past weekend. The outside is beautiful with plenty of outdoor seating. We couldn't take advantage due to the weather but we would have loved to. Inside was alright, slightly basic layout but enjoyable. Our server was great and very informative. One of the wine makers even came up to us to check out our thoughts on the wine which we have zero complaints of the wine. Very good! We had the pretzel twist with cheese and that wasn't good. The pretzel did taste homemade but it tasted old and microwaved. The cheese was canned and bland. For $10 I would hope for better quality than that, especially at a winery. Overall I will order their wine but not stop and eat. read more

Two Twisted Posts Winery is just past Breaux Vineyards and right before Cardamon Family Winery. They have a long driveway that lands you on a nice piece of land with ample parking an outdoor picnic area. Signs pointing to the tasting room brought us into a very rustic barn/winery room. There is a nice tasting bar as well as a few indoor tables. On Saturday, they had live music going on in the barrel rooms. We sat near the gas fireplace that had a cozy sofa and a small table and chairs. The staff was so friendly and provided some nice education on their wines. We enjoyed their blends as well as their sweet cab. I'm not sure what the tasting fees was but we tasted about 8 wines. We enjoyed a cheese and cracker platter($10) with our glass of wine. read more

We travelled to the Harpers Ferry area to enjoy the great outdoors, but a girl's gotta have her wine. We had a pretty full itinerary, so only time for one winery, and I'm glad it was this one. We arrived shortly after opening time on a weekday, so we were the only customers and Casey was very accommodating, giving me plenty of time to enjoy my tasting and checking back to answer any questions, as well as to share some interesting winery history. We found the outdoor setting very relaxing. Hubby doesn't do wine, but indulges me and passed the time with a new canine friend. Usually, when I go to a new winery, I hope to find something I enjoy enough to purchase and take home with me. At Two Twisted Posts, I filled my wine tote and then some. The Cabernet Franc really impressed me - I'm debating whether to open one of the bottles on Dec. 4 (National Cabernet Franc Day) or allow it to age a little longer. Tough decision. read more

Cute little place in the middle of a neighborhood thick with wineries. Their size could cause you to skip it, but I really hope people give them a try. Two Twisted Posts has 6.5 acres of grapes and makes about 1500 cases/year. By local standards, that's REALLY tinny. But the tasting room has a nice rustic charm to it, and I did like the wine and friendly service. Whites: 2011 Chardonnay: Oaky but not buttery; OK 2011 Sweet Life: Actually not too sweet, but surprisingly complex 2011 Vidal Blanc: OK Reds: 2011 Cab Franc: This was not a good year, but they did the best with what they had. Still too light bodied for me 2012 Cab Franc: Light to medium bodied, and a little jammy 2012 Cab Sav: I don't see many Cab Savs in this area that I like, but I did like theirs 2012 Petit Verdot: NOW we're talking! As my server said, "Big boy taste but not big mouth feel". I was surprised this was 100% PV, as it seemed too smooth. But I did like it. Visited Two Twisted Posts Winery back in September for my mom's birthday. We arrived on the property and noticed a group of guests enjoying some wine on the covered patio. We walked into the tasting room and there was no one there to greet us. Wine was visible from behind the counter, we could have served ourselves wine at any time. We waited over 15 minutes to be greeted and be served, the whole time we walked throughout the building and did not see one person who could have been an employee or owner. It was over an hour after the winery opened, there should have been someone there to greet us. Is the winery prejudiced to certain guests who visit the winery? I hope not. We drove to Hillsborough Winery where we received friendly service and enjoyed fabulous wine with an amazing view. read more

We really enjoyed the tasting. Some great wines they have available. Plus, the woman leading the tasting was extremely nice and accommodating - told us all about the winery and just engaged in casual conversation. It was very low key. Plus, she had her dog there with her. We're huge dog lovers so getting to play with a dog while doing a wine tasting was a definite bonus. A much more casual atmosphere than some of the other wineries in the area, which we really liked. Very welcoming and hospitable with great wine. We would definitely return. read more

The wine was great and the staff was very friendly, this is located along a great street for wine tasting. We set off on a lovely, sunny Saturday to visit this and another winery in Loudoun and WOW, were we happy to have picked this particular winery!! Upon walking in, we noticed they were quite busy, but we were still quickly greeted by a beautiful young lady who gave us a place at the tasting bar to enjoy the tasting. She did an excellent job explaining their history and their wines and the great thing was that she was the daughter of the winemaker too! All of their wines tasted quite nicely, they tasted like they were grown with experienced vines and properly made. The venue was quaint, cute and a place that we enjoyed. They had a really nice Bluegrass band playing and we really enjoyed sitting, sipping and listening to them play. The prices of their wines were really nice too!
