You are not going to find the Brooks Beast or Addiction here. But you will find one of the best selections of minimalist and low heel drop shoes anywhere. A great variety of brands and styles and even minimalist hiking boots. Cool socks with toes. And healthy supplements. Some of us are athletes who do low carb. Those gooey too much carb gels actually make us sick. There are lower carb energy bars and mineral replacement supplements. Both of these will help keep you from bonking on your long events. Everyone here is helpful and great. It is a small, but cool place. If you love minimalist shoes and need a bit of a tune up this place is worth a day trip. read more

Took the opportunity to visit your store during Small Business Saturday and boy, was I ever thankful I did. The sales clerk couldn't have been more helpful and friendly during my visit. All staff and customers were very friendly and were practicing safe COVID recommendations. The clerk who assisted me took the time to listen to what I was looking for and provided several styles and sizes for me to try on. She personally looked at the fit of each style and offered advice. I purchased a pair of TOPO's. I've never had a pair of new shoes that I didn't have to gingerly break in but I walked 2 miles this morning in total comfort. I was looking for some minimalist dress shoes to wear for work, specifically some Vivobarefoot Ra shoes in black. This place showed up as one of the dealers on the Vivobarefoot website. I called them up and spoke to a young lady (whose name I didn't catch) who was super nice and helpful regarding the sizes they had available. I said I'd be up that weekend to pick them up. (Turns out I totally lied. I ended up waiting the better part of a month before coming in) This place specializes in minimalist shoes. Know that going in. You won't find a whole lot of padding. Most of the shoes give only the minimum amount of support. If that's what you're into, this place has the widest variety of minimalist shoes I've seen (and I've looked). They've also got the standard accessories for the hardcore runner: apparel, energy gels, detergent, chafing balm,etc The people there were super helpful (even acting as tour-guides for the little town) and very knowledgeable regarding running. The prices were fine. Some stuff was MSRP, some stuff was under. But anyway, I went in for a $130 pair of dress shoes and ended up buying $300 worth of stuff. They've just got a great selection of running and ergonomic gear that I couldn't help myself. Highly recommended. read more

Went here with a nasty case of plantar fasciitis after literally every person at the Shepherd University Wellness Center that I mentioned the injury to said I should come here. It really is an outstanding, unusual running store. I'm pretty sure I got the case of plantar fasciitis from switching to minimalist shoes "the wrong way", so coming here and talking to them about it and finding out I could actually get a zero-heel-drop shoe WITH cushioning on it was a revelation to me. They especially cater to folks with wide feet, which I am cursed with, and so they carry a whole range of shoes--both sports and everyday--that are "foot-shaped", i.e., that are narrow at the heel and wider at the toes. (Look down at your regular shoes right now. Notice how the toe box is tapered? That's not the shape of your foot. In fact, it's the opposite of your foot. Stupid, right?) I was served immediately and very patiently and competently by Dion, who put me on a true form runner to try out the shoes, although he said I could run them around the block, too, if I wanted. (It was hot, so I just stuck with the treadmill.) I ended up ordering a pair of Escalantes (they didn't have my size in the color I want) and am praying that, when they get in, they'll enable me to run without inflaming my foot again. The shoes I bought cost $130, which is pretty normal for running shoes, so I don't consider that expensive. (But only because running shoes are always so damned expensive.) I also saw about another $5,000 worth of stuff I want, so got the hell out while I still had some money in my pocket. But I'll be back... :-) Will update this review to let Yelpers know whether the shoes really help with the plantar fasciitis. (One lady at the gym said they helped hers. Here's hoping...) BTW: Two Rivers Treads is a local site for something called "Bros & Bras", which is apparently a community program that matches people up for exercise, regardless of their level of fitness. It's supposed to "get people moving again, and keep them moving", as Dion explained it. So if you're "low-fitness" and want to start working out but need a partner to help motivate you, come into the store and they can help you find someone you like. And if you're "moderate-fitness" or even "high-fitness" and want to help someone else get fit, you should come in, too! read more

I LOVE this store. They have an amazing variety of shoes from Topo to Altra and Innov8 and more. They carry an large selection of XOSKIN and all my other favorite gear items. They even had Goodr glasses and UnTapped packs. I'm a shoe addicted ultra runner and they were SO helpful in getting me into a new brand to try for road running (Topo). It was definitely worth the drive in and I'll be back for sure. read more

The world's greatest running shoe store in a tiny little college town in West Virginia! One of the owners, Dr. Mark Cucuzzella, is a renowned national expert of running form and accomplished marathoner. (Google him! There are wonderful videos online where he shares his immense body of running knowledge, including info on form, drills, injury prevention, etc.) The entire staff is extremely knowledgeable about all things running. The selection of running shoes, apparel, and accessories (foam rollers, books, etc.) is fantastic. Prices are MSRP or lower and they often have incredible deals, like a couple of bins of last-year's-model Newtons ($100 - $175) for $20. They often throw in free tech shirts with purchases and even gave me a copy of the fantastic "Anatomy for Runners" book the last time I stopped in - no purchase necessary. Another wonderful benefit of stopping in - they will spend as long as it takes to get you running shoes that you're happy with; they encourage you to actually try on different pairs and take a run around the block to try them out. (Try that at Dick's!) The main thing that stands out for me, however, is this business' commitment to the running community - they host/sponsor local races, free running clinics and gait analysis, and bend over backwards to spread the good word about fitness and health.
