Annie the GM needs a little basic training in restaurant mgt, service principles and promotion. Despite that the waitress gave us good service, there are good people here, good views but the good is spoiled by an anemic salad bar with stale bread. Slow on a Sunday late October and the lack of music makes it feel spooky/dead. Food was fair and the bourbon made things better. Cover the bread put on some music and never ever close the option of drinks from the bar. Start doing promotions to bring in the locals. We've come here at least once on a fall Sunday every year for 30 years and I've never seen it so slow. Sad. Marketing needed for a turnaround. read more

I'm updating to a 5-star review after our Mother's Day buffet experience! Everything on the buffet was hot and fresh and they kept up very well with demand. We had made a reservation for a large group of 15 and our table was ready and waiting for us when we got there, despite them being very busy. I spent a few days here for a retreat so had the opportunity to eat here several times. This is heavy southern food- all things fried, battered, and buttered. If you don't want that type of stuff, this probably isn't your spot. I'm not a buffet person at all but I appreciated the salad bar a lot. Breakfast buffet was typical- scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, etc. The bacon was a highlight! Different entrees, sides, and deserts were offered for lunch and dinner. Fried chicken, catfish, barbecue, mashed potatoes, casseroles, and fried okra to name a few. They also have Happy Hour drinks. I can honestly say I eat here just about every single day. There's a lunch buffet every day and a dinner buffet on the weekends and whenever there's a lot of people booked any particular night. They've started running specials most nights when there isn't a buffet and that's a nice addition to the regular menu. Everything is usually excellent and decently priced. read more

Another Kentucky park that we visited that has really good food. I had the popcorn shrimp and my wife had the catfish. Two sides each came with the meal. Friendly service and good prices. We carried out our meals due to Covid. Both entrees were fried perfectly. Icedtea was fresh. Fantastic dining room that was spacious and fits perfectly with the State Park. Really clean. Overall, not bad food but not great either. Buffet is consistent in quality and I love happening upon their fried chicken days. The fried fish is also good. Love the banana pudding! Went to the Sunday buffet (Aug 7, 2022). As usual the restaurant was understaffed (as almost all restaurants are these days). Though we did get good service from our waitress (sorry, I've forgotten her name!). The food/salad bar is what I ordered, and the food was pretty good. They don't open until 11:00 and only stay open until 2:00. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and some good views of the Ohio River. There is so much potential here. No comparison to Ledges Restaurant at Natural Bridge SRP. I've eaten there dozens of times, and always tasty and good. read more

Took a beautiful ride with our motorcycle group for lunch. We all purchased the buffet since it was reasonably priced at $13.99. Fried chicken, catfish, brisket were the main items along with #macncheese, green beans, and california blend. Beans and cornbread were another option as well as a dessert bar. Lodge atmosphere with huge and tasty portions. Really good value and the staff is wonderful. I had the pecan chicken (order a box to go with your meal), chicken and dumplings soup, and the philly fries over the duration of our stay at the park. Each was great and enough for two or more. read more

The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the service was very good. The food, however, was just barely edible. I had the breakfast buffet, the usual selections were available; eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, oatmeal, home fries, French toast sticks, fruit, muffins, and biscuits and gravy. The sausage itself was overcooked, and pretty much zero flavor. That was the theme for the whole buffet; devoid of flavor, over or undercooked, and cold. Oatmeal grey and lumpy, grits had no taste. The fruit was straight out of a can, and muffins out of a box. And most disturbing of all, the bacon was cold, limp, and soggy. Good service, killer views, friendly folk, and small-town living. if you go in with the right expectations you'll have a lovely time. Not many places like this exist anymore. This is a pretty stop if you are in the area with great views. The food is not bad either. I got the salad bar which offered a lot of toppings, always a favorite of mine! The soup of the day, which came with the salad bar, was bean soup. The soup had a good flavor but I did need to add salt. The cornbread was a nice addition also. I got pasta, with shrimp added, and it had tomatoes and oil. The cheese was on the side which was great for me. They had to clear two tables off to make space for us, but after throwing all that on an adjacent table, it and many all over the restaurant went unbussed the rest of our time there. Food was okay. We found the restaurant and asked if they were still serving breakfast, since it was 10:30. One waitress told us no they weren't while another told us they were we would just have to order off the menu. We ordered and I think our waitress, Savanna, might have said five words to us all the while having a sassy attitude. She slug the food down on our table and walked away. The food was okay, a little over seasoned, but okay. Once it was time to pay our waitress started acting nice. What a deal! What a find! Even though the food tasted fine, it's not a very exciting food bar but it worked for us. We followed our iExit app for options off the interstate highway. I bet during the summer, it's busting at the seams with a golf course across the street and options for camping/cabining in General Butler State Resort Park. I thought I would share my experience at Two Rivers. My wife and I went to Two Rivers and were both going to eat buffet. We noticed that the sign in the lobby said $13.99 When we got to the restaurant the sign said $18.99 After thinking for a minute I decided to order from the menu. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. My sandwich and fries were about the best I've had except home cooked. Service was good. My rating is low because of the price of the buffet not matching and they close at 8pm !!! My wife said the buffet was terrible. I believe in second chances, and I wanted this place to work, but they refuse. I've dined here many times over the years, but only twice in its current incarnation. The server promised the food would arrive soon four times before it did. There were several tables of people, and they all looked like they were parked in an airport lounge, hoping for a standby flight. The menu was very limited, but they did have hot brown, too bad it tasted like wallpaper paste. The chopped steak was also ordered, and my companion ate almost a fourth of it and informed the waitress that it was over salted, to the point of being inedible. The waitress offered to bring something else, but we didn't have another 40 minutes to wait for the chef to come back from break and decide to start cooking. Also, she was not clear on whether that something else was going to be a replacement charge or in addition to the steak. She should have taken it off the bill and then negotiated from there. She didn't lose her tip, she just had to use it to pay for the steak dish that was garbage. I will not return unless there is a complete overhaul of staff, management and the menu. read more

It's difficult to actually find the seating area with no signs at the door or in the hotel lobby. A friend and I both drove from out of state to run the Tough Mudder that was taking place at the Kentucky Speedway this year. We came in around 8:30. We split a plate of pretzels, each had two beers. and ordered sandwiches. I had the "Prime Rib" dip, and my friend had a burger. The pretzels were burnt, and the cheese had been sitting long enough to have a film on it. After finishing our sandwiches, and settling in for the night we both ended up with severe stomach issues. My friend was up all night with severe nausea and diarrhea. This forced him to compete in a ten mile obstacle course run, completely dehydrated. We spoke to the attendant at the desk when we checked out, and she basically laughed in our faces. This restaurant is absolutely terrible, but moreover, this whole area is incredibly bad. If you head out that way for any reason you're better off sticking to Lexington, and just budgeting the hour of travel time. read more
