I hired Two Men and a Truck about four years ago and they were great! They moved all my furniture and belongings in around three hours and were very quick and efficient. This time was different. So. So different. We only hired them because our new house is really nice and has some narrow stairs, so we didn't want free laborers to mess up the walls. And I really didn't want to make my friends carry large furniture up the stairs. So we only had them move the big furniture that absolutely couldn't fit in my hatchback. Since we only moved 15 minutes away, we figured it would take between 2 and 3 hours, which was perfect, because we're broke AF right now from loads of other moving expenses. They moved a living room, two bedrooms, and two boxes. That's it. Sounds easy right? SOMEHOW, they made it take 7 hours to squeeze every bit of money I had. They like gift-wrapped every piece of furniture we had, including such ridiculous items as my computer chair and our small coffee table. Look, our furniture is not nice. Half of it is made of plywood. If something broke, I wouldn't have even cared as it would be an excuse to just buy a nicer one. They took their sweet time slowly wrapping every single item we own. The dudes were clearly pretty tired from their move earlier, so I didn't mind that they weren't as quick as they'd be first thing in the morning. I'm really just upset about the gift-wrapping thing. They didn't do that when I hired them four years ago. I wanted to tell them to stop, but I'm really shy and it's hard for me to talk to people. In hindsight, I should have said something, and then maybe I wouldn't have wasted a ton of money. I could have just rented a U-Haul and got a bunch of friends to help like I did in the past, saved $700, and it would only have taken 3 hours. I had things to do that day that didn't get done because they took all day moving my minimal amount of items. After my first move, I couldn't recommend Two Men and a Truck enough, but after this second one, I feel obligated to actively discourage everyone I know from using their services. I recently had these movers come out and transfer my large furniture from one house to another. Making the appointment was really easy, I just went to their website. I really liked how you can break down the move by each room. On moving day, the two movers showed up right on time. They asked me to show them what I needed to move and asked me if I wanted something packed or padded a certain way to avoid damage which I thought was great. When moving the big items out, they took great care not to hit the walls or doorways. When I got to my next house, the unloading went really smooth and nothing was damaged. The two movers also helped me to move some furniture around in my house to make it fit better. I had a great experience and would definitely use these movers again! read more

The movers and dispatch were professional and courteous. We hired them for a local move but did not use their packing services. We could have packed better in advance to get ready for the movers to come but the two men who showed up were patient with our disorganization. They were hard working and kept moving the entire time they were here. Even our cheap Wal-Mart bookshelves were treated with care and showed up at the new house in the same condition it was loaded in, which is nearly a miracle. Moving is stressful, but this is beyond. 1. Paid a deposit, set up my move.... nobody showed up. They straight up didn't assign our job. Their fundamental purpose. 2. You can't get in touch with anyone. When it was time to set up and pay you could talk to someone, after that it's an endless voicemail loop. 3. The paperwork states you need mattress protection, so I called to make sure we could get it from the movers well in advance of our move, and were told "yes ma'am, we'll make sure there are some and if you don't use it you won't get charged." Not only we're they not there because three hours after our move was supposed to start we got a team that had been training and were assigned last second, the man on the phone trying to "help" 24 hours after the disaster of a move told me that's not even a thing they do!!! I did get a cute story about how getting his car worked on was aggravating when Sean called to "assist", a nice tale of customer service.... not super helpful since I've been a regional manager for one of the largest international retailers and in customer service for 22 years, but thanks, it was a good story. He also told me that they gave me a huge discount because they didn't charge me for the third guy (the guy in training) because they started the move THREE HOURS LATE. I fail to see how that's a favor to me. The men doing the move were great. Get their cell numbers and save yourself this train wreck of an experience. Our last move was 3,000 miles and included our cars and it was much less stressful than moving the five miles this time. Trust me, just dont *** in response to the owner response.... the very low rating you guys have as well as alllllll the other posts say that the customer satisfaction rate is not quite 96%, and the "extra guy" was only there because he was training with the only other available mover, since they never assigned my job. It was his first day training, as well. All of the things they did, like not charging for time they weren't there (for real... that's a benefit!??) weren't anything more than what would be the bare minimum. Two men and a truck has really gone down hill over the past 34 years. I used them 34 years ago and was really impressed with them. Now you can't even get them to answer their phone. You are automatically sent to the leave a message prompt and they never call you back. They are using the COVID excuse to avoid their potential customers. I even went to their business on wrightsboro road and they will not answer the door, even have a sign that states if you knock on the door they won't answer. Tells you to call them and leave a message. Well I had already left a message and did not get a response. Today, Kevin and Lawrence moved my family's belongings. They were great! They were quick and efficient. They took precautions when moving our things, and they were extra careful when taking items from the first to second floor, being careful not to hit the walls. They used padding and plastic wrap to secure and protect things when needed, and they were sure to communicate with us regarding what belonged in each room. This location is awesome! Setting up the move was easy. The office staff provided me with a reasonable estimate and explained everything. I've moved because of the military several times and there's so much that goes into moving- I never realized! The movers arrived within the time frame and got to work after a quick walk through. They took great care of my things and were extremely hard working as I moved from a second floor apartment to another second floor apartment. They took care to ask where I wanted everything and were extremely polite and respectful. I've never hired movers before and should I ever need to move in Augusta again, I will definitely be using Two Men and a Truck! Moving is usually a stressful experience but D and Brad made this a pleasant experience. I've heard horror stories about other moving companies with movers standing around taking their time and milking the clock as companies charge by the quarter hour but these guys worked every minute they were here. They charge you 15 minutes for travel time to your house, 15 minutes to do a "walk through" to see what all needs to be moved, 15 minutes to do paperwork. Then 15 minutes at the end to finish the paperwork and 15 minutes travel time back to the office. Of the 2 hour minimum, only 1 hour is moving. One of the guys went into the truck and started talking on the phone for half an hour and counted the time. We decided they should just go since they werent helping and later when we were finishing packing, one of the guys had come back and just walked into our house like it was his own because he did not see us. I scheduled move a week out and then had to change dates a few days later. The staff was accommodating on making change and very helpful on going over items to be packed. They called a day before to confirm move and if there were any changes. The truck arrived on time to Aiken address. The driver walked through house to survey load and I signed the necessary paperwork. It seemed to take a little longer than I thought it would and some of the items could have been loaded better than what I expected from previous moves by the Military. I had the truck follow me to my storage unit in Grovetown and start the unload. after an hour of unloading the helper had left to help on another job and didn't tell the driver he was gone. We also discovered the my patio table legs were damaged. I assisted in loading to get job done and wasn't happy at the time being 98 degrees. I talked to the manager the next day and he immediately reimbursed me for my patio table and remedied the situation for my inconvenience and time. We were able to resolve this quickly and I was very satisfied with outcome. I would use them again on next move. read more

Read the fine print and don't listen to what they "say". Things are very misleading...it took 4 and 1/2 hours to move a one bedroom apartment with minimal furniture. I was "told" my appt time was from 1100-100. That is supposedly their estimated arrival time, which was totally not what was explained to me. I sat there waiting until 1245 for them to arrive. Once they arrived they had limited supplies NOT what I requested btw. I paid a $260 deposit and had to pay an additional $375! Outrageous. I packed and moved some of my own stuff in my own car which I totally should have said NO to, with as much as I paid! The guys were working really hard , which I appreciate but made sure to bring up the "we do accept tips convo", after arriving late. You also have to give the driver your card number for the remaining balance in which they write down and say over the phone. We finished at 415 but they wrote the end time down as 445. It does not take 30 min to get from Tobbaco Rd to Wrightsboro Rd. I will not use this overpriced and misleading company again! read more

We made it QUITE clear that a phone call was mandatory. That we HAD to be there because we didn't live there. We DID express that it was a delicate situation and we were ASSURED that we would get a phone call BEFORE they left to go to the first house. Which was not done. And when we called about how dissatisfied we were, all we got was finger pointing and "there's nothing we can do even though we screwed up". So yes, I think dissatisfied would be more than an understatement. And I will make sure that everyone we know will avoid this company so that they won't make the same mistake we did. And yes, I also plan on leaving this review on every site I can because you obviously do not care about your customers. Only the money you can squeeze out of them even if you don't do the job that was asked of you. So yes, you replied, but only with still more finger pointing and no resolution to your mistake. If you are military and live on Fort Gordon this is not a good company to use. They charge you from the time they leave their company to the time they get to your house. It took them 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to my house from a 15 minute trip (at least that is what they said). It did not take the manager that long to get my home when the staff got my dresser stuck. You get charged for all this time. They also charge you 30 minutes to get back to their company so my first 2 hours was their travel time. My 2 hour visit turned into 5 hours for 3 dressers, a sectional, a freezer, a king mattress and a large curio cabinet. The workers waste time to make money. I had to stand and watch just to make sure they were busy. It was a very frustrating move and I also had damage done to the housing unit and to my property due to the workers getting my son's dresser stuck in the stairwell. That move was 11/19/2015 and I am still waiting for someone to come and fix the damage to the dresser. The manager said someone would contact me (I am still waiting). It's funny how they want their money up front "to make sure their is enough money to cover the charges". If it had been their property they would have been upset. They would want their property fixed ASAP, I guess as long as it's not their property it doesn't matter. This was the worst experience yet with any moving company. I don't think I mentioned that the move was RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET and that I HAD TO CALL THE MILITARY POLICE for bad behavior of one of the staff members. I was charged 2:15 minutes travel time, only 15 minutes was taken off due to the gate issue per the manager. It took until January to get my property fixed. Glad to be rid of this company. And forget trying to talk to the owner, the manager will never let you get that far. Their crews are low skill, parolees who do not care about your stuff. I hired them because I was deploying a month before my wife need to move from August, GA to one hours from Augusta, GA to take a new job. I came home on R/R six months later to find out that I made a big mistake in using this company. The employees lacked the simple ability to keep all the parts of our furniture together and put it back together. Then they could not put the furniture back together. I have an entertainment center that partially put together. Then they did an crazy patch job on the entertainment center. when all they had to do is align the bridge and tighten on screw on each side. Then because they lost pieces they could not put the self on. Then in a effort to hide their stupidity to put the selves up tilted to one side. They could did what I did and went to Lowes and purchased the needed parts for less than 20 dollars. They put all the wires for the electronics in the house in one boxes. I have a giant box full of tangled wires. I have bed room furniture without all the parts properly attached. they left the mirrors off mirror/drawer sets. They did not properly label boxes. They did not put the TV back on TV stands in bedrooms. The saddest part they sent out a supervisor after my wife complained and they still did not fix the problems that was identified. He did the crazy patch job on the entertainment center. The sad thing is that I did a local move by myself a year earlier using U-Haul move to help with the heavy items did without any issues and everything put back together with no issue. This is suppose to be a professional moving company. If you have to use this company then have someone their to watch their every move that can supervise them. and make sure they do what their suppose to do.
