I didn't want to push him, so we hired someone else to do the heavy lifting. I spoke with Ginger on and off about the service, price and method of payment accepted. On our agreed upon date, two young men showed up at the agreed upon time. The minimum time allotment was 2 hours and that wasn't a problem. I quickly showed them around and put them to work. They were very respectful and careful with my items. We relocated a sectional, another large sofa, an entertainer from the garage, and lots of boxes. At the end of our time, Ginger was called and she sent an electronic invoice which I was allowed me to pay without providing my credit card info over the phone which is a pet peeve for me. All in all a great service. I wish I knew the fellas that help with my particular move as I'd request the same team. That would be nice.

That definitely wasn't the case. I moved from a two bedroom apartment and garage. Everything in the garage was packed as well. To start the third man comes in telling me he has a hangover from drinking last night, moving slow as molasses. I get my dolly and start moving stuff myself. They were taking one item at a time. I got the dolly and staked three items on it. The third person is hiding talking on the phone in the bedroom arguing with someone, while the other two were working. He was talking on the phone to his baby mother about seeing his kids, you are at work. Then he started crying because she said he wasn't going to see his kids. Then he stopped working completely and went back of the truck and sat down. Later he comes back in and asked to use the bathroom and stayed in there for 35 plus minutes, and because he was still hungover from the night before blowup my bathroom, it was horrible. The lady told me the third person would save me money, he cost me more with me helping. Everything was labeled where it should go. I had to move stuff because he was paying attention. I asked him not to stack stuff so high because I was not going to be able to get down. He told me you are tall. Yes I am, but it's heavy and I don't was to hurt myself getting it down. He was a total waste of money. Mike and his brother did a wonderful job but this was outrageously expensive $1820.00. It took 10.5 hours. If I wasn't paying by the hour it would have went much faster and cost far less. When I moved in to this apartment, my two friends and I unload the same 26 foot truck in 3 hours. I was prepared to pay for 6 to 7 hour.

The cost was less than a DIY with a truck & towing my car. The UPACK team's customer service from pick-up (South east) to drop off (West Coast) finish was above & beyond my expectations. All promised timelines were met and my belongings were perfect (see better and after photo). The consistency was such a pleasant surprise because the carriers were communicative and accommodating all the way through the process. ABF even delayed the drop off for me so I could celebrate the holidays with family. In closing, if all of UPACK's are this awesome, I highly recommend!

We were impressed by her reviews here and on Google and her rapport which was delineated, it seems, by way of her reviews. She was at times overly helpful, communicative, and endorsed professionalism. However, more recent interactions with her have tainted that representation and, in our view, her professionalism. She reached a point in the business relationship where she is unjustifiably offended and makes decisions for you without initially consulting you, and I believe it is because she is a one-woman show and needs help executing. There were a few instances where she wasn't going to be finished cleaning the home in time for check-in of our guests despite being scheduled and informed ahead of time and there was a time when she was still there cleaning when the guests checked in, which is a big no-no in the short-term rental space. Yet, believing in second chances, we continued to utilize her services because we believe, strongly, in supporting Black-owned and woman-owned businesses because we are the one of the same. We always paid her within a couple of hours of receiving her invoices and in full. Her responses to us started to become flippant and misplaced. She made a decision at her last clean for us to take linens from the home without our directive to do so, stating that she would clean them at her own home. We kindly stated to her that was not necessary and she proceeded to, again unjustifiably, respond to us that we thought we were "better than her" and that "her home is clean." We were remarkably taken aback because we never insinuated that her home wasn't clean and she became angry with us for a decision she made without first consulting us. After that text message intercourse, she abruptly resigned and stated that she "no longer wanted to approach the premises." We kindly accepted her decision. We therefore made plans to which she agreed to return our linens that she unilaterally removed from the home and our keys since she resigned, and then she abrupted decided after agreeing that she didn't want to do that and that we were "inconveniencing her." Mind you, she made sure to abruptly resign after she received her payment from us of $825 after delivery of services for the week, which would be her final payment. We never once tried to inconvenience her. We never once did anything to make her feel less than. We never once treated her with any ounce of disrespect or disgrace. We appreciated her and conveyed that to her often. I feel what will impact her ability to sustain a reputable and scalable business is her inability to exhibit emotional intelligence in her dealings with her customers/clients. She would also benefit from hiring additional staff to help her achieve operational excellence focused on efficiency. Finally, she credits herself with the success of our AirBNB as if she were a business partner instead of someone we hired to perform a service. That is all we did and were doing. She took it as more. She was not a business partner and if you hire her company beware of her overattachment and overinvolvement in how you run your business. At the end of the day, we wish her nothing but the best and optimal success, but we just didn't have time for the aggravation from communicating and dealing with her later in this relationship. There are too many cleaning services who would be glad to provide the services we need.

Neal was able to contact me as soon as I messaged him. He was able to visit my house, provided a reasonable estimate and scheduled a service. Neal was able to provide sound advice on the amount of lawn irrigation needed (# of times a week and duration of water), and lawn care plan (weed, fertilizer and etc). Overall, the yard looks great, cleaned up and at a reasonable cost. The plus side is that he is local and a small business!!!
