We tried this new Korean take away restaurant in Ocean Side NY, there are 5 seats on the bar to eat. We tried the Bulgogi Bibimbap and Galbi over rice. Great prices, clean store. Not really a place to dine in. The service was good, they cooked our meal to order.

Stopped in for lunch today, take out. Very nice owners and a spotless kitchen, it is fairly new. I had the spicy pork over rice, it was very good but needed the runny egg, my egg was hard. Kimchi dumplings were very good, thin dough and tasty. Big portions, enough for two. We'll be back!

    Seafood Pancake

Been wanting to try this new Long Island Korean place since I usually have to travel far for Korean food. I ordered the soft tofu stew and seafood pancake. Both were delicious and portions were huge! The owners are so friendly and kind people. Very clean spot but not a lot of space for indoor dining. Give this gem a chance!

Spicy Tuna Kimbap, Bulgogi Kimbap, and a qt patootie

Finally a Korean restaurant in Oceanside! Wide menu variety and very friendly owners. We got the spicy tuna and bulgogi kimbap rolls and they were delicious, especially for the price. Will definitely be coming back to try other items.

Not only is the food awesome - I ordered a ramen, plain hot dog, and halo-halo shaved ice (addictively good) - but bonus stars to the staff who were sooo sweet! The Hawaiian style shaved ice and home-made ice cream are top notch. The ice cream is rich and delicious, with some unique flavors, and the shaved ice is very fine - fluffy and evenly slushy in texture and sweetness, unlike the inferior versions where you run into bland chips of ice. The toppings are yum too. The ramen noodles are springy, settled in a savory light broth. For a non-prestige grade ramen, I have no complaints. I also want to acknowledge the lovely hospitality. My child was in a tantrum-y mood and went to sulk by himself in a corner. Seeing the pouty little grump in a small fit, the girls at the counter coaxed him over with ice cream and stickers, which he of course eagerly accepted, pleased by the attention and confection, and was soon back to his endearing self. So I really appreciated their extra kindness! This is a fab joint for a quick-casual or just a perfect sweet treat!

Backyard setting with al covered picnic style benches and tables. The owner is super sweet and she's now joined by her daughter. They also have hot dogs on the menu. The only downside to this place is that the hours of operation are inconsistent. The owners said it's because she recently a promotion at her regular job and had to switch up her schedule. So sometimes we drive by when they're supposed to be open ,only to see a lock on the gate. It's a seasonal shop as it is so if closed on a hot summer day it can be a bit disappointing but I get the reason . Overall the season closes just around Thanksgiving. Cash only. If you're lucky to catch them open it's a refreshing flavor filled treat.

Just take a look at this lil Stand, it's so welcoming nicely decorated with beautiful flowers and tropical colors a real Hawaiian theme going on which makes you feel like your on Vacation .... O, did I mention that they have Island music playing steel drums and all that Caribbean music which makes you forget all your worries !!! They provide shaded seating under a gazebo and what I really enjoyed was the water misters to keep you kool while waiting in line ..... Finally it was my turn to be served and this nice lady greeted me with a friendly smile and knew it was my first time here... she was so nice she explained how they make fresh snow as they call it, she actually made me a snow ball in the middle of July ... lol They shave block ice in a machine which turns it into fresh fallen snow ... then their flavor syrups get poured on top and the snow catches all the syrups just like it's gonna catch you !!! Over 100 flavor combinations to choose from & create .... I'm sold and will be back here with my girlfriend tomorrow night !!! Great spot for a lil date night .. Her name was Loreen and she let me sample a few flavors and every one she suggested was off the chain delicious!!! I finally decided to go with a large Hawaiian Sun Set which has guava, mango, pineapple & strawberry ... O and don't forget to add cream it's make the ice more creamy & delish !!! It's worth the .50 cents extra .... After hanging out here eating my ice I noticed that they serve Sabrett all beef hot dogs with all the yum yums !!! Sabrett Onions & Sauerkraut... Because of this reason and because their desserts are always great, I find myself coming back again and again! This time I got the mango bingsoo and the cookie butter croffle which were both delicious! Their bingsoo is always so fluffy which I really like and the mango flavor is super strong as well so it doesn't feel like I'm having plain bingsoo once I get to the middle. The croffles from here are always sooo good. They're so chewy and warm which was super comforting for the cold weather that has been going on recently. This place is self service so the only interaction you have with the staff is when ordering. They are always super patient and helpful. The cute cafe has quite a bit of seats as well but because it is pretty popular around the area, it does fill up quite quickly.

Although there were a lot of flavors listed, there weren't a lot that seemed interesting or appealing to me. I got the large (starts at $8), snow capped (condensed milk - they only drizzle a small amount), with vanilla ice cream on the bottom - half orange and vanilla syrup and other half passion fruit. This ended up being a little over $12! I would give it a 7/10 rating. Both flavors were just OK and I wouldn't get them again. I probably won't go again but it was good for the moment as I was craving something really cold. The service was quick and she was very helpful while being patient. They shave a block of ice in a special machine, creating a very delicate , softly formed shaved ice, that is easy to eat, not like Italian ices, that you have to work hard to get out of the container. Lots of syrup flavors that the Server layers in the cup, so the flavor goes through the whole cup. I had black cherry and lemon/ lime, which I chose to layer together , rather than separately. Another person had the orange creamcicle, and someone else had the mango and coconut. All were delicious. The sizes are regular and large. The regular is $6, and it is huge . The large is $9 I think, not sure about that one. We got regular size. There is a children's size that is smaller, but also pretty large . Street parking, but I think there was a parking lot next door. Seating for z4 people total. Inside. I think on warm days, they may have some seating outside on sidewalk. I would def return. Also the server was especially nice and helpful!

Is it Japan? No, you're in NYC. But is it good enough? Absolutely. Just expect to pay NYC prices…read more My biggest recommendation: stick to the classic ramen. I usually order spicy ramen at most ramen spots, so that's what I went with my first time here. Big mistake. The spicy ramen really takes away from the depth of flavor. If you actually want to appreciate the broth, the classic ramen is the way to go. You can always add spicy oil yourself. A few things could definitely be improved. For an upscale ramen spot in the heart of NYC, I was surprised the tap water was straight-up lukewarm. Nobody wants lukewarm water after eating a piping-hot bowl of ramen. I'd also avoid the bar seating if you can. The seats aren't very comfortable, especially if your back tends to get tight from sitting hunched over. Another small but surprisingly annoying issue is the front door, it doesn't have a slow-close mechanism, so it's constantly slamming shut. Depending on where you're sitting, it can get pretty loud and distracting while you're trying to eat. On the positive side, the service was great. The staff was attentive, and the food came out incredibly quickly after ordering, which I really appreciated. The ambiance definitely fits the upscale NYC ramen vibe without feeling overly fancy. You don't need to dress up, casual clothes are completely fine. I'll definitely be back, classic ramen next time, no question.

A Sweet Spot for Families!…read more It was so much fun taking my family to Pelican's SnoBalls in Valley Stream! From the moment we walked in, the bright colors and cheerful vibe made it feel like summer no matter the season. They have a ton of flavor options -- something for everyone -- and everything we tried was delicious! The staff was super friendly and patient, helping the kids pick their favorites and even offering suggestions. What really stood out was the family-friendly atmosphere -- there are board games for every age, which kept everyone entertained and laughing while we enjoyed our treats. Pelican's SnoBalls is definitely a new family favorite in Valley Stream! If you're looking for a fun, relaxed spot with great customer service and tasty treats, this is it.

We usually come get our son balls and go about our business but the last 3 times have been a bit underwhelming, we took my dad one day to try for his first time and saw a whole bunch of new ice cream additions including a "pelishake" my dad ordered one and was told they didn't have anymore ice cream..no worries we tried again almost a month later and were told again that there was no ice cream, this time it wasn't due to lack of product but instead that it was 15 minutes to closing and the ice cream machine was down, so today my son and I went at around 8:15 with hopes to finally bring my dad back a pelishake but this time we were told that there is no ice cream after 8 pm... for a ice store that already closes at 9 in SUMMERRR! Lol Also wasn't given the opportunity to put my number in for my rewards because the cashier was rushing primarily due to there being only ever two people on shift and one person is closing down and cleaning up while one person is going back and forth between taking orders and making the ices. After all that the Snoballs weren't even as juicy as they once were. With the prices higher, options limited and the hours barely ever open its a very disappointing experience to say the least. We've honestly been here way more times this year than previous years only because Ralph's burned down, fortunately though I read it will open back up next spring & we will seldom be back at this establishment once they do.
