We passed by this shop several times on our way back and forth to our Fredericksburg hotel, and decided to give it a try on our final morning in town. The shop is cute and the baked goods are nicely displayed for customers. We sampled three items: 1) the ham and cheese croissant. This was very light and flaky with a buttery consistency. While I could taste the cheese, the ham was almost non-existent; 2) the apple cobbler cookie. This was not so much a cookie as an apple pastry with the same flaky dough as in the croissant. The apples were good and probably our favorite item; 3) the cheesecake bar. This had a consistency between a slice of cheese cake and a blondie. The top layer of chocolate chip cookie was kinda wet and bland. These bakery items weren't bad but given the prices (almost $20 for two cookies, a croissant and a cheesecake bar) it needs to be a lot better. read more

I love a local cafe with a cute vibe, but if the coffee isn't good, it's not worth the experience. We ordered four different drinks and they were all equally bad. The coffee was watery and weak. There were only two people preparing everything, and they were quite busy, but that's still no excuse. I wasn't surprised they were sold out of a lot of food at 11 am, so we didn't get to try a lot. We've come in a few times across multiple visits and we're always excited to grab a cinnamon roll and cold brew or latte. We always have a few modifications on our coffees and they always oblige. Y'all I am mad at myself for not going here sooner. Don't let the name fool you like it did me- it's not just a bake shop, it's a coffee shop as well AND they have a few other food options. Let's break it down since I'm a list maker... Ambiance: cute. Lots of little quotes to read (some are quite funny), great for little gifts for women- didn't really pay attention for guy stuff. There's a good amount of seating (chairs, tables, outdoor tables- different styles even). Great lighting. Noise fluctuates depending on how many people are there and how considerate people are. Temp was just right- I didn't freeze like I do at Starbucks. Food: coffee has always been delicious, I've had breakfast tacos, cinnamon roll and chicken salad with a croissant- all very good. They have salad, pastries/desserts, and a few other items available. Staff: everyone I've encountered has been very nice and has offered suggestions. Cleanliness: this place has been very clean every time I have been there. Even the bathroom smells so good! Misc: there's a parking lot to the side of the building or street parking. Free wi-fi. My wife and I stopped here since our hotel was just two blocks away. I recommend bringing cash otherwise you face the "how much do you want to tip screen" which starts at 15%. I'm all for tipping but it is quite offputting when you're hit with it right up front. And keep in mind it's not like they wait your table either. They do not brew your coffee individually you have to choose from one of six coffee thermoses. The coffee is about as good as Starbucks, but no free refills. The two pastries we ordered were decent. Basically two pastries 2 medium coffees with tip was about $22. They do have some eclectic offerings that they sell inside as well. It was worth stopping in at on a Wednesday morning. Save yourself the $20 on bland tacos, and dry kolaches. We threw our tacos and jalapeño bagel kolaches out after two bites, they were so bad! The bagel bread was extremely dry and they don't even use a whole sausage for a SEVEN DOLLAR KOLACHE! The tacos were $3.75 for one egg and tiny pieces of bacon mixed in with a thick stale heb flour tortilla. Pretty disappointed. Your prices are very high compared to subpar quality. read more

Walk in the charming cafe to see a bakery case you might only expecting your dreams. The coffee also smells fabulous! Lattes, Chai Tea, Espresso, Decaf, Made individually for you at the counter. I'm not sure how someone could come on and just get a beverage but I did see some people do that, obviously they have more restraint than I do. However I will give myself a small pat on the back because I would've liked to of just said I'll take one of each please and thank you! Instead I picked out six beautiful items knowing that I can carefully wrap and freeze them and pull them out one at a time With the intention of that treat lasting three or four days,and maybe eat a quarter of it at a time. Please note -I said maybe! Sometimes I find that just that little taste will satisfy me.....dang my sweet tooth. If you'll take a look at the picture I snapped once they were in the bakery box you can see just how luxurious they are. Obviously handcrafted by the lady who took payment at the cash register. (I would have thought she'd be somewhere fast to sleep!) It was perhaps a college-age girl that patiently, let me go down the bakery case and make my choices. She packed them with care in a bakery box. Just some of the items from my memory that were in that bakery case include: cinnamon rolls, apple coffee cake, blueberry coffee cake, some savory options as well with what looked like a hotdog encased in a beautiful yeast dough, and I was hoping to get at least two of their highly touted breakfast bowls so my husband and I could enjoy them for our last breakfast here in Fredericksburg tomorrow morning, but alas, they must be as popular as some of the reviews say because there was only one left and I was there within an hour of them opening. There were two when I walked in the door and dang it if the lady in front of me didn't order one too. Oh well, that's the way the cookie or the breakfast bowl crumbles! By the way they do offer fresh salsa to top it with. Moving on, there were some of the usual bakery suspects -fudge brownies, chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies and beautiful chocolate dipped gluten free macaroons and much more-I didn't dare study it any longer because I wouldn't have been able to control myself and I would have had more than one box of goodies. Each offering so carefully crafted that it could be given as a gift to someone-and they would be so delighted with the deliciousness presented them they would never forget it!
