I recently found the root of my problem isn't in front of me, but corporate. Let the Mansfield site purchase a bottle of reposado tequila that more fits the market instead of rot gut El Jimador. Just replace a bottle of the Don Julio that is all marketing rep and no content. I'm not talking 1942, but something in the middle with some taste and smoothness. read more

I'm having major patio jealousy! Their outdoor area is out of this world! They were unbelievably busy today, because there was a parade on main st. However, their speedy service and great attitudes didn't suffer! Whoever was the greeter was amazing! She made sure everyone was prepared, and gave suggestions. She was the real hero! Never coming back to this place again. They were out of veggie burgers and didn't tell us that until after we ordered and wouldn't reimburse us instead gave a choice of salads. Salads that have bacon in it. We also ordered fries which we ask for several time and never got them. I also ordered a regular burger my bun was soggy and there were no forks, spoons, mustard bottles were empty and ketchup bottles. Well I thought that going to a burger place, that the burger would be the one thing that wouldn't be messed up. Especially after dropping over $50 for 3 burgers a grilled cheese and a kids burger. Boy was I wrong. For starters two of the burgers didn't have a top bun. That a pretty crucial part to the burger. They were very dry as well. The fry's were bland and just eh. I called and asked about the buns and they told me if I come back in the next week they'll give me 5 bucks off. Why would I come back if they can't get the simplest aspect of the burger right. Very happy to come back and say that Twisted Root Downtown Arlington has got their mojo back. I'm sure they are still struggling with a lot of the same labor and supply chain issues as everyone else but they are nice, clean and the food is solid. Came here with my fiancé recently to try it out. We got the Kevin bacon burger and the freshmen 15 burger with the treat yo self fries. We also tried the pickle bar and were please they were great, favorite was the ranch pickle. Both burgers were well seasoned and flavorful! I would recommend both 100%. The fries were not my favorite just was too greasy. Other thing I would critic is that the Kevin bacon burger patty was a little too pink for me, and I like medium. I had a patty melt and it was good. My husband had a western burger and had no complaints. The loaded fries were average. My big disappointment was I had been told they had boozy milkshakes made with frozen custard. We ordered our meal then proceeded to the bar to order the shake. After a long wait, a bartender finally arrived but did not know the recipe for the shakes. We traveled over 35 minutes each way to get what we could have had much closer to home and that was unacceptable. I won't go back. How would I ever know if the knowledgeable bartender was working? I ordered the brioche bun hamburger with American Swiss and a side of fries. The bun was toasted wonderfully and I loved how they left the salad and tomatoes on the side! This was my first time here at this twisted root location and it was SOO cute! The place was clean minus a couple dirty tables inside but I didn't mind that. The self serve soda machine was adorable. This location is a lot nice than the one in Arlington! I wish I liked pickles but the station was still very nice. The person who took our order seemed like she really didn't want to work hahah but that's understandable. The service from the bar was so nice and kind. It was a pretty good price, and the restrooms are located outside! It wasn't packed at all and we probably only waited 10 minutes for all the food to come out. I will be going back!!! read more

So have said several times on my reviews I'm not a hamburger girl but when there is a place that has great burgers I would love to brag about it. My son decided to take us to go try twisted root Burger in Mansfield and I won't lie I walked in it was a pretty cute little area of brand new in Mansfield it's in the area that starting up kind of on the old side of Mansfield. You walk in and the bar is right in the middle everything is very wooded modern it kind of reminds me of a chipotle but with a bar in the middle. In the menu you to pick one of their special burgers or you can build one of your own they have an area against the wall with huge barrels full of pickles and different flavor pickles at that ranch pickles regular pickles chipotle pickles etc. The burgers were very delicious and huge the fries were good and so were the fried pickles I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who is a burger junkie or not so much but does like to enjoy a good burger once in a while. read more

The black girl working the front was absolutely one of the rudest people our family has encountered- our family had never been there before and we were asking questions and she quickly pulled her manager to come take the order as she stood walking around the back and looking over to still see if we were still there-hmm? Came here for lunch and it was very busy on a Thursday around 1pm but the service was quick and the food was amazing. My daughter got a kids burger with fresh chips and they were good. I really, really wanted to like this new location in Mansfield because it's so close to home. So......I concede that it's hard to pull off a brand new 'hole in the wall'. The older locations in Deep Ellum (Dallas) and downtown Arlington are pretty amazing and are hard to compete with. The setup in this new location has a 'community meeting place' feel to it, so that's cool if it's your thing. There is a lot of parking in the back. It's a little funky inside. I love pickles, so the pickle bar has always been a favorite Twisted Root feature for me. Instead of 5 gallon jugs on a bar, this new location has free standing barrels and no flat surface. I wonder if management had tried it to see that it does't work. First, instead of the standard pickle chip, they use a really thick cut. I love dill pickles. That barrel was mostly juice, so when I tried to pick some up, the ones that fell out of the tongs splashed a LOT of pickle juice back on me. The plastic cups are too small for the huge slices so it's awkward trying to finagle them into the cup. If you'd like to try more than one flavor, too bad. There's nowhere to sit your first cup while the try to fill a second. It's a simple set up that didn't need to be changed. There are no inside restrooms. Seriously. The bathrooms are outside, kind of like a public park. There were 4 or 5 individual restrooms. I like that it's gender neutral. However, it looked like my fellow ladies had peed on the seat in EVERY one. They were all disgusting and unusable. Management should probably send someone to check them twice an hour. I don't like cheese. I always ask to have the cheese removed. Reminiscent of an identical experience I had at the Richardson Twisted Root, the cook had very clearly put cheese of my patty and scraped it off when they realized their mistake. That really pisses me off. What if I had an allergy? They brought me a new patty but my boyfriend was just about through eating by the time I got it. They were sorry, of course, but the bigger impression I got was that they thought I was overreacting about a tiny amount of cheese. I'm giving 3 stars because the burger, fries and s'mores shake were delicious. However, I won't be back. Not when the Arlington location is down the road. read more

They can't make mixed drinks at the bar with say - a soda or lemonade. You have to go back to the food line and order a drink, bring the drink to the bartender and have him add any 'spirits' you'd like. Um... no thanks. What an awesome addition to mansfield! A really cool little place to come with your family or friends to eat and just hang out. The outdoor area is so inviting, we were driving by and made a u-turn to check it out for an early Sunday lunch. The interior has a huge bar, comfortable seating, and what caught my eye was the pickle bar! The ranch pickles are addictive. You order at the counter, get your own drinks, cutlery, and don't forget your pickles. A server brings your food. Not sure how it works for boozy drinks but I will soon find out. Monday drink specials are $3 mules. My husband ordered the All American (bacon cheeseburger) and I had the Happy Pilgrim (turkey burger with kale, Pesto, and goat cheese). I subbed goat cheese for gruyere which brought my burger up to $9.25. Fries are $2 more. I'm a believer that a few fries should come with a burger, but everything was flavorful and juicy.
