This is a consistently great burger place. You place your order at the cash register, and then it is made to order. My spouse loves their hand cut chips. I enjoy the loaded fries! We both enjoy their margaritas. This last visit, they had added a side salad to their menu which I really appreciate on days when I'm attempting to make healthier choices. Previously they only had full salads, and sometimes that isn't what you want, right? There is plenty of parking behind the center this restaurant is located in. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant has a Texas type theme going, and they play 90s music, which makes my heart happy. Service is always friendly! I had an absolutely awesome experience at Twisted Root Burger Co. Mansfield. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was fun, and the service was top notch, but what really made the visit stand out was the manager, Delaney. The burgers were cooked perfectly, the toppings were fresh, and the menu has a lot of unique options you don't see at most burger places. The fries and shakes were also great, and everything came out fast even though they were pretty busy. Delaney went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. You can tell she really cares about the customers and the staff. She was checking on tables, helping the team, and keeping everything running smoothly. It's rare to see a manager that involved and that friendly. She made the whole experience better and is a big reason we'll definitely be coming back. Overall, this location is one of the best burger spots in the area. Great food, great service, and outstanding management. Easy 5 stars. Every time I visit Dallas I am sure to stop in at Twisted Root Burger. I love this place as the atmosphere and staff are always amazing. This time however the food was not up to what I expect. The burger was overdone and dry. The fried pickles I ordered were amazing though. This won't deter me from coming again though as I feel it was just an off night which can happen anywhere and 1 sub par visit doesn't stack up to dozens of amazing visits!!! Our server was loudly saying she didn't care about Chuck Norris' passing or his views while talking to other customers. The order taker was very nice and friendly. BUT, they totally left off one of our burgers when the food was delivered. After waiting for a while and seeing other orders being delivered, went and talked to the lady at the front, and she looked at the receipt and said that the kitchen had messed up and left off the burger, and she would get it right out. After waiting an additional 15 minutes, I went to ask them to refund the missing burger and the server was right there and said it was coming right out, so I went back and waited. And waited. No burger ever came, so I ate 1/2 of my wife's burger. Looking at the receipt online, the original receipt had been changed and 1 burger was removed from the receipt, but my card account STILL showed the full original charge!!! Twisted Root Burger is located in Historic Downtown Mansfield, TX, in The Backyard, serving great burgers, chicken tenders, shakes, and more! We came through on a weekday after the lunch rush, and it was fairly crowded but placed our order in seconds. The ordering concept is easy as to where you place your order with the cashier in the front, and they give you a name card and call it when the food is ready. Our name for the day was "Elizabeth Taylor," and our food was ready in minutes. There are plenty of tables and booths inside the restaurant, and they also have a full service bar for alcoholic beverages and also serve By the Horns draft beer. The interior was decorated nicely and had a lot of pictures and photos to look at. They even had the famous lamp leg that was featured on the move The Christmas Story. There are also barrels filled with different flavors of pickles to choose from to complement your meal. The options for pickles were dill, ranch, bread & butter, sweet & spicy, and atomic. We ended up getting the onion strings and chicken tenders with house made potato chips. The chicken tenders were nicely coated and cooked to perfection. They were seasoned well and very juicy, and I must say the dipping sauce paired very nicely with the tenders. The house made potato chips were deep-fried golden brown and tasted like the perfect chip while the onion strings were lightly battered and were very addicting as to where you found yourself constantly eating more and more. They also provided house condiments such as ketchup, a root beer BBQ sauce, Chipotle ketchup, and horseradish Dijon mustard. Overall, this fine establishment was great to get a quick bite and drinks with friends and family. They have an awesome happy hour on drinks with multiple TVs by the bar area. Prices were fair and average while the service was great, and the staff did an amazing job with customer service. I've been to this restaurant a few times and it has always been pretty good. My husband and I sat at the bar to get full service and not have to get in line to order our food. We showed up at a weird time between lunch and dinner (linner?) so the place wasn't busy which was great. I really like the ambiance of this place, it has always been chill and the employees have always been nice to us. The bartender was friendly and attentive, she got our beers right away. I ordered the Big Tex burger and my husband got the Gosh Jam it burger, they were both very good! We decided to share an order of Treat-Yo-Self fries (no picture), my husband really liked them and ate most of them, I wasn't a fan, they're alright (next time I'll order regular fries). It's been many years since we had been to Twisted Root in Deep Ellum. It wasn't what I remembered. They have pared their menu way down. No longer do they have a bunch of unique burger combinations with options for exotic meats. Now it's 4 or 5 options. The burgers were good as well as the fried pickles and fries. Twisted Root Burger is always a fun place for me and the wife to have a chill date night. It's definitely one of the best burger places in Mansfield for sure. The employees are always super nice and always give such great service at this location. They were out on this particular night of my go to here the wagyu burger. That's ok I've been waiting to try more of time menu for awhile now. So this time I went with Gosh Jam it, which comes with Texas herbed goat cheese, tomato-bacon-onion jam, and a very yummy chipotle sauce. I ordered it medium rare and they nailed it. It's probably going to be my new go to when I visit this location. My wife got The Western l which comes with pepper jack, bacon, fried onion rings and jalapeños. I like mine a little better. I have been to the location in Waco. Figured this place would be equally good. I was wrong. It was very dirty. Floors were sticky and just disorganized. Felt like everything needed a deep clean. People were nice but clearly understaffed. Food was mediocre. The traditional cheese burger tasted like it came from a freezer and was over cooked. I decided to give Twisted Root a visit while I was waiting on the WNFC football season opener in Lewisville. The area is great and TRB is connected to a few other restaurants. I'm sure during the summer, it's a vibe! We sat at the bar, ordered drinks and I ordered The Western burger. The burgers are cooked medium well, which is my least favorite way to have a burger. I asked for it to be medium but it came out Medium-Well/well done anyway. Other than that snafu, I would have given 5-stars and will definitely go back again. The food notifications are given randomly based on the buzzer name received. That wasn't clearly stated before, so we were sitting while "Mrs. Robinson" was being called over the loud speaker and we weren't aware of the ordering procedure. Walked in and needed to order at the counter which was a very pleasant exchange. Ordered and sat in the only comfortable spot I could. They only have booths and they were overwhelming tight. Found a booth with chairs on one side that had a on/off dripping pipe. My family and I ordered about 61$ worth and it was absolutely overpriced. They didn't have the buffalo, which is what I went for. Went ahead and tried the Tex burger which didn't come with the chipotle as advertised. Not to mention it was a fairly under seasoned patty and the bread was overly greasy and for almost 13$ I was hoping for more. Someone else at my table ordered and asked to replace the fried onion with plain raw onion, they proceeded to put a mountain of fried onion in the burger and when we told them, they came back two different times to ask what was wrong. They took the burger, took off the fried onion and didn't put any raw onion on like what was requested. When I told them about the leaky pipe, I was told "we know, it's just the condensation". As I sit here with an upset stomach, after being up all night in the bathroom, I can't say it was the most positive experience. The burger (despite them getting the order wrong) was actually pretty good. The sides sucked--floppy greasy mess. The restaurant just felt gross... un-bussed tables, unfilled silverware, fountain soda empty. And no, they were not busy. Well... at least the staff were friendly. They should be for that suggested 18-22% gratuity they ask you to add when you pay your bill (despite the establishment being entirely self-service). I guess 20% is still customary even when the guest has to run their own food, fill their own drinks, get their own condiments, and anything else needed. read more

Always a good burger and always a good custard shake! Fun atmosphere and friendly staff. They have lots of exotic meat options! I have not yet been adventurous, but the ostrich sounds interesting! Their shakes are my favorite. I have gotten several of their shakes and always enjoyed them. The custard really stands out, it's thick, smooth, and creamy. They have lots of delicious add-ons. Their Elvis shake is pretty yummy, but it's the most expensive. My recent shake I did peanut butter/brownie with toasted marshmallows on top. The shake was pretty runny and the marshmallows were not toasted! This is not usual for Twisted Root! I will let it slide this time. The shake was still good, I did enjoy the large brownie chunks! Burgers for $12 in 2022? Biggest thank you of the year! My work team decided to come here for dinner and this place really was a pleasant surprise. Located in Downtown Mansfield, this place is a great location to get dinner or to get some drinks, and it's connected with a lot of different restaurants and they have an outdoor backyard/courtyard that you can all connect in as well. We visited on a Tuesday evening, and the place was relatively empty. I sat in the bar and ordered some beers -- I will say... the alcohol selection is pretty limited but they do have other bars/restaurants in the vicinity so you can grab a drink somewhere else! The bar service was honestly pretty slow for how many people were in the restaurant, which is the main reason why this place gets a 4. I ordered the Freshmen 15 burger, which comes with smashes fries, bacon and a fried egg. I also added chipotle sauce (I ended up getting barbecue sauce instead... but it's fine), and I was just so shocked at how cheap it was! Only $12!! I also got an order of Treat Yoself Cheese Fries for the table which was $8, but my meal still only came out to $26 with tax! Both dishes were fantastic. I will say - it's not your typical sit down/be served restaurant - you order up front, which also means you're not obligated to leave a tip.
