Had a delicious burger and Shenouda had the best customer service with his friendliness. Would recommend!!

I had high hopes for this place with its cute names for burgers, and 4 choices for salad, but this place kind of fell on its face. Granted, I know there are not really great dining options in the Dallas airport and it's airport food, so it's going to be more expensive and not quite as good. But for a place that specializes in burgers, I would have expected better hamburger patties. I got the Mexican salad, which was $12 (with tax), and came with mixed greens, corn and black bean, tomatoes, and avocado, and a cilantro-lime dressing. I'm glad the salad was not wilty, and it was a generous amount. I also liked that the dressing was on the side. But for all the signs saying the burgers were all made fresh, mine seemed like it had been sitting around for days and microwaved for 3 min because it was dry and tough and just not good. I didn't even half the patty because it wasn't palatable. Maybe I got a patty that had been sitting there for a while and it was an anomaly, but I wouldn't recommend their burgers on having eaten that. The salad was fine, and if you're looking for something relatively healthy, then this will work. I still think Pappadeaux is the best bet for food in Terminal A if you have a little extra time and are willing to spend a little more money. All in all, not super good, but not horrible either. At least they have a soda/water dispenser so you can get water while you dine-in. read more

Braindead employees, told a scrawny employee no bun for both burgers and he clearly acknowledged. I was then aggressively asked for a tip and given two burgers with buns. When I told them I needed new burgers because of allergies they simply took off the buns and gave them back. read more

Great Burger shout out to Shenouda Ramy Eman and David , New York approved !!! Place also looks dope ! Service was great!

I'm a bit mixed on this place so I'll break it down a bit into smaller bites. The service was exceptional. The staff was very friendly, as this was my first experience with Twisted Root. I Had heard that they have a Vegan burger, and a airport location. I've wanted to try them before but thanks to a flight delay, finally had some time, and proximity to experience it. Again the staff was great, kind, and helpful with the menu. One reason it deserves more stars is for the staff. The restaurant itself is nice, the tables have cool little throw back images to when aviation was glamorous. I appreciate the attention to detail, especially being in an airport. They have a decent amount of seating, with ketchup, mustard, and 3 different sauces at every table. One BBQ, a horseradish sauce, and something with anchiovies which ruled it out for me to try. They also have several pickle jars filled with sliced pickles. I skipped the plain ones and went for the super spicy ones. They were tasty, but spicy. meh. The food: I got the Vegabond burger, which was Vegan. I was hopeful this burger would be tasty. The presentation was great, your burger bun, the quinoa patty, with avocado and some sauce I don't recall with lettuce and onion on the side. Anxious to bite into it, I assembled it and did so. Herein lies the biggest disappointment. The quinoa patty for the Vegan burger just crumbles the instant you bite into it, leaving dry crumbs of quinoa all over your cardboard burger holder. I can't tell you how dry this burger was, with such lack of flavor. I was very disappointed. I had to dump some sauce on it, and I mean dump sauce on the burger to make it remotely palatable. I eat lots of vegan burgers, homemade, mass produced, and this was really one of the worst I've had. Simply no texture except dry quinoa and crumbly beans, and bun. Very disappointing. I did salvage a bit of the food experience with the fries, as I mixed together several sauces to dip my fries in, and was pleased. Eventhough the fries were thin, and very soft. All in all, it's not terrible, but please, please up your Vegan burger game. You need a better binder. ie Tapioca flour, vital wheat gluten, a flax seed egg, just need to improve the binder for this burger. It's not on par with a decent Vegan patty. I'm happy it's in the airport with a vegan offering, please keep it, just need to upgrade your vegan patty game. read more

"Brad Pitt!" ...and I approached. That's what I pulled for my order number (celeb names are called out instead of numbers ). I have to say, as far as first impressions go I'm liking Twisted Root Co. Custom order your Burger? Check. 10 steps from DFW Gate A25? Check. Room for my junk and outlets to charge up? Check, Baby! "Chewbacca!" I take my burger box to my seat, get settled and add some Twisted Root Ketchup - and right then I'm thrown askew. No Heinz? Ballzy for a start up. Malcolm Gladwell did a piece on this called "The Ketchup Conundrum" (fun informative read, http://gladwell.com/the-ketchup-conundrum/), the net net being "ketchup is ketchup" and Heinz nailed it...but I get it, startups need to change the game, so let's see... "Rocky Balboa!" Food: - Neatly presented in a eco-friendly cardboard tray-box - Swiss Burger, w/LTO and top bun kept separateon the side - Spicy Fries - Dasani Water - Twisted Root Ketchup "Iron Man!" Airport food has experienced a sort of enlightenment, most would agree. The Wendys, McD's, BK's....these are anachronisms at best, like payphones and wood paneled station wagons, our expectations, wants and needs have changed...but you still need fast, you still need good, and Twisted Root delivers both wrapped up in Jet-age retro glory...ironic that.. Summary: Burger was very good but after a few bites I started picking at the fries. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid burger, but it fell short - was it the TRB Ketchup, the patty breaking apart, the taste which was good but...I'm not sure....the mildly spiced fries were tasty and the TRB ketchup worked well with those. But I wouldn't come here tomorrow, or again in the same month. It's a once in a while thing for me, good to have among all the options. I cleaned out the box no problem. My overall experience was pretty great - fun space, very clean, new and fresh feeling, cool design queues (jet wing over the bar, and hey - there's a bar - that's cool!), wood and steel, well placed pictures, accent lighting etc. Service was great too, a counter person even checked on people at their tables, nice touch. The brand cares, and that shows. Try for your self and if you are a burger maven like me, see what the Ketchup does for you. I thought TRB Ketchup was a tad sweet. "Hey, Marco Polo! I've been to several Twisted Root locations before - first time to this one in this terminal before my flight out of Dallas today. The menu seemed to be more condensed than a standard non airport location menu. I ordered a Spicy Goat and a pb and brownie shake. The wait wasn't too bad. They were just normal-busy at the time I went just before noon. Most of my TR experiences have been solid 4 stars. This one is a 3* because of the dryness of the patty and how the TR employee made my shake. He used a long spoon to mix the shake by hand at one point, opened up the big plastic pb jar, and scooped out some pb with the same spoon, with ice cream still on it, put the lid back on, and put the pb jar back in the fridge! Not an expert, but I'd venture to guess that that's some sort of contamination. There's melted ice cream in that pb jar now. read more

Okay so it was tasty... Airport tasty... I wish I could visit another location, but the DFW location is always jam packed.... not tonight. I gave the Kevin Bacon a try, it was good but it was airport food... the beef stood out as fresh and tasty. The blue cheese was excellent.... I was hoping more for the bacon.... it was priced for comparable airport food, a bit more than standard fare, especially for a burger. It was prepared fresh to order, not sure I how I felt about the fries.... I thought the order process was fun... but not sure the value is there for a repeat... I will most definitely try to make it to a stand alone location and see if it is any better... read more

High Hopes met with utter disappointment. After seeing Twisted Root on DDD for a second time, I had to try it while in DFW. Maybe it's Bc it's an airport but I don't think I'll try it again. The sign says burgers are cooked medium well and if you don't like pink, tell them cashier "well done". I ordered as it's supposed to be prepared and it was the most over cooked and dry burger I've ever had (I got the Big Tex). The fries had zero salt/seasoning and were cold and soggy. If you're feeling the urge to try this place out, I recommend passing by to another joint. read more

This was a great place to stop for a burger, and they were nice enough to do a lettuce wrap for my husband. The burgers were good, cheese fries were too and it was quick and affordable read more

Funny and fun place! They call you by a nick name like "wreck it ralph" or "dirty Harry".. Made for an interesting experience. Ordered cheese fries which were too salty and oily. They tasted as if the fries were triple fried or either left out way too long absorbing the oil. Some of the fries were limp! I was hesitant to order a burger since someone mentioned that it was a standard "Sysco" type burger. Also had the strawberry ice cream shake. It was way too thick and I saw the poor lady stirring it with a spoon because it didn't look like they had an ice cream/drink mixer. Other than that, service was great. The restaurant has ample seating and they even have a small bar area that overlooks the runway of the airport - pretty cool place to have a drink and watch planes land and/or take off! read more

Amazingly enough I have not been here before. I travel through DFW often but somehow I have not been near this location in Terminal A until today. There is a significant effort to upgrade the food options at DFW ... Lead by the renovations at Terminal A. Twisted Root opened a branch here in November the guy at the counter told me. So what to expect? Burgers are 1/2 pound and loaded. I watched a couple leave before me because they said the burgers were too big. There are numerous options but according to the staff the Western and All American are the two most popular ... But I guess you could expect that in Texas. I went for the Western ... A very nice and beefy patty with raw onions, onion strings, Jack cheese and jalapeño. I added some hot mustard and barbecue sauce at various points. The burger tasted good, but they put too much lettuce on it. Overall though very solid. Fries were fresh cut ... But not cooked to the point of having a crisp. The temperature of the oil is the culprit here. Too bad ... I ordered a water (in case my wife reads this) ... But they gave me a Hershey's shake. Vanilla custard swirled with Hershey's syrup ... YUM!!!!! Very clean atmosphere and service was great ... Burger - 3.75 stars Fries - 2 stars Shake - 5 stars Cleanliness and Service - 4 stars Overall - 4 stars. Definitely an option at DFW. read more

Twisted Root Burger - Good clean place for a layover meal. - Burgers Near Me - Irving, Texas

I love how I can be at the airport and still experience food from a local(ish) establishment. Located in Terminal A, it was a good balance because it wasn't a full down down restaurant (who has time for that!) and it wasn't too crowded (elbow room please) and it wasn't quite a fast food restaurant (MickyDs is everywhere). Stand in line to order food, sit down, and your name gets hollered out after a few minutes. Being that I don't eat burgers, i still had lots of options because I was able to substitute with their veggie patty. Which. Was. Delicious. Good amount of char even though the patty didn't quite stick together well. I had the BIG TEX and loved the mound of fried onion rings and the chipotle sauce that gave it a good kick. Solid. read more

I would have given 5 stars but the burger was well done and I asked for Medium. The fried green bean and carrots with the dipping sauce was on point. The service was good and it was priced just right for an airport restaurant. It will not break the bank and it was better then McDonald's or Burger King for almost the same price. read more

Being at the airport, it's hard to find good food. My flight was delayed, and I was hungry, so I was walking around to see if there's anywhere I wanted to go in. I walked by here and saw my people were dining in, so I decided to eat here. I waited in a line and noticed the cashier was very slow. He wasn't nice either. I ordered the Western with Swiss cheese. I sat down and waited approximately 10 minutes to get my burger. My burger came and looked okay. I had a bite, and it was overcooked, but I didn't say anything because this is an airport food. They probably wouldn't do anything for me anyway. The service wasn't good at all. The staff wasn't nice or friendly. The food isn't bad though. They had a pickle bar, and some condiments (mustard and BBQ sauce) at each table. The BBQ sauce actually tasted good. Only reason I'll come back here is if I crave a burger and don't want to walk further. read more

Cool restaurant in terminal A. I had the Vegabond veggie burger with a side of cheddar fries. The burger was good but totally fell apart after the first bite. The fries were terribly soggy. Not bad at all. I got the turkey lots a shrooms burger since I gave up red meat for Lent. I was a little skeptical but it was delicious. It had a bunch of good mushrooms smothered in dry aged Swiss cheese. Very good. I accompanied it with the onion rings. They were like shredded fried onions but were good. They also have a cool pickle selection set up in small barrels for everyone to help themselves to. I liked the regular dill and bread and butter pickles but the hot pickles didn't to anything for me. Stop by when traveling out of DFW. Friendly staff and priced as you'd expect for an airport. I liked it. read more

Have enjoyed a burger at other Twisted Root locations in the Metroplex so thought it would be a good idea before my flight. Started poorly with the snarky cashier then continued downhill. Took 10 minutes to get burger that sat, while I watched, on the prep area. Table numbers are apparently used to track orders.. but you have to discover that for yourself. Person announcing orders unintelligible so nobody knew what order was what. When my order was finally called it came without the fries I ordered. While waiting I also got to watch the cook eating lunch as he made others food... first, last and only visit to this location. read more

Stopped in for a burger and ordered the ranch burger. It was decent, but not amazing. I don't normally write reviews but this place is just not worth your time. I'm from Dallas and have had some amazing burgers, but Twisted Root is not it. While on a layover from DC, I saw this place and decided to give it a try. I was going to be getting into my destination late so I figured I'd have a heavy late lunch/early dinner. There was no line and the Cashier was friendly and funny. He gave me a celebrity name card to be called by and I stood aside to wait for my Togo order. I got an the American and fries (sub/Swiss cheese.) No kidding the food came out about 3 mins later I was shocked. But because there was no line I figured they put it on as I placed the order (he yelled it back while ringing me up). But a clear red flag.. So I grabbed some condiments and hurried to my new gate. Sat down and prepped to eat what looked liked a delicious burger and fries. Ate a small handful of fries and realized they were completely cold. They tasted like they had been placed in the microwave for 30 seconds after sitting out all day. Chewy and stale. Great. Move on to the burger, it's hot in some areas and cool in others....odd. And for some reason every bite I had, had an overwhelming flavor of pepper. Don't waste your hard earned money, energy or time here. You'd be better off going down to Papasitas Cantina and enjoy nice margaritas and food... I should have just stayed there. read more

Great burgers and fast service. I got the mushroom burger with fries. It was cooked perfect and was really good. I absolutely love the selection of condiments! Quick bite before we got on the plane At DFW. Great choice. Delicious burger. Would stop here again without a problem.

Skip this and go to McDonalds. Cold everything. Burger, fries, onion rings and bun stale and cold. Yuck

Courteous, fast service. The burger I had (Kevin Bacon)was prepared perfectly and big enough for two people. Absolutely delicious. Enjoy!

One of the better places to grab a burger at DFW. This one is at Terminal A. They give you a nickname so that you know when to get your food. A buck or two more expensive than the Twisted Root locations that's not at an airport named DFW. And items are bit limited than those places, but hey, it's the airport. The burger patties are cooked to order so there's that freshness factor. read more

Great drinks. Mario is fantastic. Perfect place to grab a quick bit before your flight

This place was filthy. Literally, not a single table free of spilled sauce, grease, napkins, empty glasses and garbage. There could not have been less-friendly staff running the register or calling out numbers; they looked as disgusted to work there as we were to eat there. After getting our burger and taking a bite, realizing it had no flavor, I thought I'd try and improve the taste by applying some sauce. I had to go through six grease-ridden bottles of sauce to find one with sauce actually in it.... Only to discover a dead fly on the inside of the hamburger bun I removed to apply the sauce. Got a refund. Absolutely and unforgettably disgusting from start to finish. Wish I had taken a picture of the dead fly attached to my bun. read more

Great fries and good salad on the go! We stopped on a quick layover and we're super happy with our choice!

Good selection. Enjoyed the Vegabond with gluten-free bun. Fair prices unlike some of the nearby airport restaurants.

With four hours to kill in DFW after a cancelled flight and a missed connection, the choice of restaurant feels overwhelmingly important. This was a good choice, so after browsing the video menu at one of the ultra modern gigantic smart phone style kiosks in the airport, we settled in here. We ordered a burger with goat cheese and bacon, a plain cheeseburger--no kids meals here--the veggie burger, and a burger with blue cheese and bacon. The blue cheese was probably the best. The veggie burger was a black bean and quinoa patty. The wife made us split that one, and I was left unsatisfied. It crumbled apart and even the big ol avocado could not salvage the thing. The other burgers were delicious. The fries were average to poor, but I would strongly recommend the onion straws. They were deep fried and battery but still held together. The place is also great for sauces, and the horseradish mustard was great for clearing the sinuses(or maybe it's better not to be able to smell while walking through the airport) and just hot enough to bring the fries back to life. read more

Twisted Root serves juicy tasty burgers, many with clever celebrity names. You can order any of them as a lettuce wrap, too. Their fries are good, especially when topped with cheese and bacon. GROSS! The cashier (a larger gentleman w/o a name tag) had his mask around his chin (why bother?) Passing through DFW and wanted something fast but good. This is a gourmet burger joint that just doesn't quite have it together the the fast paced environment demanded by travelers. First the food: basic gourmet hamburgers with a very nice variety of unique condiments. The fries were hand cut and the salad was fresh but suffered from very limited dressing options. The atmosphere was crowded and noisy. The bar was nice and has charging ports which would have been a nice touch if they worked. Nice selection of beers but they really did not promote the local brews well. Missed opportunity. I would eat her again by my complaint was with the service. It started off on the right foot when they make up a custom side salad at about 1/2 the price of the very strange menu salads. The problem was in the execution which was cute by assigning you a celebrity name but they did not deliver. Our order was completely wrong and it took me three trips to straighten it out after the guy in charged disappeared for 20 minutes. The truth is the fix was easy - reach around and give me a packet of salad dressing but it took a committee to approve it and convincing them it was what I ordered was harder than getting through TSA. read more
