My husband and I came upon Twisted Jeeps sort of on accident. We were in town for a week and don't know the area well, aside from the mountain biking trails. We talked about doing a Jeep tour and actually wandered into Barlow's on the main strip asking if they did driving tours. They are only a rental shop, but the man there told us to hang on, and he'd call a friend to see if he had time for a tour. Sure enough, 30min later we were walking to Twisted Jeep to meet K.L. who came to drive us on his day off. K.L. is super knowledgable about the trails in the area and is a great driver. We rode with him in a new JL Jeep with a 4in lift and 40in tires. It was a blast! We did Hell's Revenge and we were really the only ones in the park. It's currently the off-season here and a bit cold (and very windy!) so we didn't cross paths with any other vehicles on our drive. We stopped to look at dinosaur tracks, geologic features, beautiful vistas and overlooks, and stopped a few times to examine the features that had been driven. K.L. was really great about talking through all the driving he was doing and how to adapt to the trails, and how often things can go wrong. He offered for both of us to drive (I declined but my husband drove for a bit.) Next time we come back to Moab we hope to come back to Twisted Jeep to do some 4 wheel coaching and do more getting behind the wheel of a Jeep. The trip was so worth it, it was awesome, K.L. is rad, and I recommend the experience to anyone looking to get a different perspective to the terrain in Moab. read more

These guys Jeeps are amazing. Like, they're not "Man, that's a pretty cool Jeep. Must be pretty good for offroading." More like "Holy crap I can't believe they actually rent these to strangers." They're top notch. Basically as good as you can possibly get. When I was a younger man I had a CJ-7 with 33s and open diffs and thought I was hell on wheels. That was nothing. I might as well have been in a stock Subaru Forester. I rented one of these guys Jeeps and went on "Fins and Things" and nearly lost my mind it was so amazing. I went up and down stuff I could barely walk up and down. The ladies I was with insisted on getting out of the Jeep at least 4 different times because after seeing the slope/obstacle, they were sure I was going to kill all of us. Nope. Straight up. Straight down. Whatever you wanted it to do, it'd do it. 37s and fully locked front and rears will do that for you. Which is not to say that you couldn't do something and get yourself in trouble, if you're an idiot, but these Jeeps are so capable that as long as you're not totally clueless, or trying to do something so far beyond your skill level that you're an idiot, you're good to go. These are easily the best jeeps in Moab. Even if you don't go off road, you will pick up several ladies just cruising around Main Street (make sure you take the roof and doors off). We first took it on Jackson Hole, which was fun, but nowhere near the limit of the Jeep. Next we headed over to Hells Revenge, but my dad chickened out. Luckily we ran into Jeff over at Moab Tourism Center. He was nice enough to let us follow him on his tour! Between his expert advice and the sheer awesome capability of the jeep, my dad (his first time going off road) was able to conquer Hells Revenge. We all agreed that this was the most fun we've had in a while, all thanks to Jeff and Twisted Jeeps. The customer service at Twisted is also top notch. Our group (3 adult sized guys) rented a two door jeep because it was cheaper, and Twisted gave us a better 4 door for free! All around great experience, we will definitely be back! read more

So disappointed in this company. We booked out jeeps over a month ago and planned and booked our whole vacation around when we could rent the jeep. They just called and cancelled our reservation because someone has a larger party then us and they need all there jeeps. Thank you for disappointing not only us but our children. This is really a horrible thing to do to someone who is traveling so far to be able to do this experience!!! Very angry and upset about the whole situation. This place got us a rig with no hassle, explained the rules clearly and gave us the keys. Hit up Poison Spyder and the Fins and Things trails with our jeep siting on 37" tires, which destroyed those trails with ease. A few precarious spots here and there but as far as the jeep goes it did everything we asked. After finishing one trail and not knowing where to go next we called the shop and they gave us a good trail to end our day on. Turned in the jeep, no problems. Worth the money, great day. read more

Twisted Jeeps made our vacation incredible. Starting from booking the jeeps for 3 days, they were very professional and helpful with information of the area. We were greeted by our driver KL when we arrived....he was fantastic in making us feel comfortable and welcome. My husband is a skilled 4 wheeler and felt having a guide show us the trails in the area the first day would help with what we were up against in skill level. KL got me behind the wheel to drive in Hells Revenge, the car wash and dragon tail. I was scared and excited. He made me feel comfortable and capable. So much so that I want to buy a jeep now!!! Joe helped us with checking the jeep every night and making sure things were running well. Nick was there making sure when my husband wanted a fourth day there was a jeep ready for him. Since 0 stars is not possible, they get one. We had a very bad experience at Twisted Jeeps. We reserved the Jeep the night before and it said 8am is pickup. We were there on time but the location was closed. I called the number that was on a scratch paper saying that the office does not open before 9 during winter season. Matt, a guy working there, picked up and said he won't be there before 9. He said that just because my reservation confirmation says 8am he doesn't have to come and referred to the scratch paper at the door. Seriously? When we came back at 9, he was there with a woman and let her do all the paper work not saying a word because he was angry. The woman sent us out to the Jeep to check it ourselves, who does that? The jeep had no winch. I said the winch is missing and Matt replied these Jeeps come without a winch, despite bragging on the website about how well equipped their jeeps are. We drove off and realized that cruise control is not working and the jeep seemed not well maintained. We didn't get a map, tips or a cooler of ice as they advertised. I understand it's the winter season but common... Really, really bad customer service. Never experienced something like that. Don't get blinded by all the good reviews and by the office's reply to the bad ones. There are many better rental companys in Moab, go for them! read more

We rented two Jeeps for eight people. As we are from Canada we booked ahead of time. The staff were the best. We were very impressed with how we were treated even after I put a couple of bends in the rear door. They said it was not a problem and took a big load off my shoulders. I had never been an off-road driver before but I enjoyed every minute of it. We had the Jeeps for two days and did Hells Revenge and Poison Spider. read more

Twisted Jeeps definitely rents the most extreme Jeeps in the area. However, I wouldn't say they are the best quality. My group rented three Jeeps and all three of them had various problems, including dripping differentials, missing shock parts, buttons that didn't work (traction control, sway bar, etc.), broken seat belts, broken ABS, broken seat belts, problems with the catalytic converter, burnt-out headlights and tail lights, and all of the Jeeps experienced the "death wobble." Equally irritating is the fact that supposedly the Jeeps are subject to GPS monitoring, and if you're found to be speeding, you get fined $200. This is annoying enough on paved roads, but it is especially obnoxious on roads without marked speed limits, on which Twisted requires you to drive 20 miles per hour. There are plenty of maintained dirt roads (good quality) in the area, but since the speed limit isn't posted, you end up poking along at 20. The biggest problem we had on this trip was that, after the first day of driving, we discovered that one of the Jeeps would no longer start. When we contacted Twisted, they had us try various things to make it work, but nothing helped. They said they would come pick it up, which was pretty game, since we were literally at the end of the road in The Maze (something like 87 miles away from the nearest paved road). The Jeep they used to take in to The Maze also broke on their recovery attempt. When we turned the Jeeps back in, we were required to pay a $1,000 recovery fee because we were more than 35 miles from Moab. If we had crashed the Jeep doing something stupid, I would understand this, but since the problem was actually a faulty starter motor (and they admitted they didn't know whether or not this was related to our trip), this seemed unfair. We had to deal with the inconvenience of an unusable Jeep, and then had to pay for it too. Twisted is getting two stars for this review because they have fun Jeeps with big tires, but they aren't getting five stars because of the huge amount of problems we experienced with the Jeeps and due to the company's propensity to charge excessive fines/fees for unreasonable things. read more

Worst...let me say that again...worst customer service that I have ever experienced! I was in Moab last week enjoying my bucket list jeep adventure when I broke an axle shaft on the Escalator and to have my jeep serviced. I didn't want to miss doing to Top of the World trail while my jeep was in the shop so I rented the Golden Spike Jeep from these guys. The rental process was amazingly quick, no questions of where I am going or what I am doing, just sign this and here are the keys. So we start our drive to top of the world which is about an hour or so from their shop. About 2/3 of the way there the whole front of the jeep broke loose and practically pulled us into oncoming traffic. We pulled over and my friend (a mechanic) inspected the jeep. Everything looked fine but that is not the way the vehicle performed. We turned onto the gravel road that led to the trailhead and the jeep did the same thing again bringing us to a grinding halt. The shaking was so violent this time that the top of the winch fell off and was hanging by the battery connection cables (this part wasn't even bolted on but just sitting on the top of the winch. At this point we felt the best thing to do would be to return this jeep to the shop because there was definately something wrong with it. So we drove it back at 35 miles an hour which took a frustrating 1.45 hours because everytime it broke 40 it would shake. When we get back to the shop nobody is there so we call the number on the door and speak briefly with an employee who tells us he will be there shortly. Once he shows up he walks right past our group without even a hello, gets the store key and then walks right past us again without a word (because he is to busy talking on his phone) and walks into the store. We follow him in and oonce he gets off the phone I explain the whole situation again. Not so much as an apology!!! He proceeded to tell me that this "death wobble" is typical of modified jeeps and that should have been explained to me when I rented it. He told me the girl in the moring should have told me that the jeep is not "road worthy" because it is an offroad vehicle... WTF???? I asked them how they can rent unsafe, non-road worthy vehicles to people when you HAVE to drive on the road to reach any trailhead in Moab. I then asked him if I could get a refund, or at least a discount, because the only time I had the jeep was driving it to and back from a trail. He refused any kind of refund but offered me another non-road worthy jeep instead. I of course refused because why would I risk my safety again in jeeps the owner is telling me are not safe for the road? So when I picked up my jeep from the shop the owner (one of the most well regarded jeep mechanics/ fabricators in the area) told me this is very typical of Twisted Jeeps and that they do not properly maintain or service their vehicles. Renting from these guys is like playing russian roulette with yourself and passengers and the biggest problem is they do not give a crap as long as they get your money! $221.00 for 3.5 hours of dangerous road driving!. read more
