Found this little gem while driving through Homer looking for a pizza place after driving in from Anchorage. It was cloudy and rainy the entire drive. We saw this place and noticed the full parking lot--always a good sign. Upon entry we quickly sat at the bar and ordered a craft beer and glass of wine. The server gave a few sips of various beers so my husband could select the one he liked best. The Twisted Goat doesn't sound like the name of a pizza place and we were pleasantly surprised to see it on the menu. We enjoyed another drink and took the pizza as takeout. Great service; it looked like the servers worked as a team and all had a smile. We ordered the meat pizza and it was delicious! The crust was perfectly cooked and the toppings were just the right amount with a healthy portion of cheese. If I ever get back to Homer, that's where I'm eating! read more

Eating here is a must if you're staying in Homer!! Came here my first night and had the steamer clams and a steak. The clams were done to perfection, served with a broth I'm still craving and homemade bread to soak it up with! The steak was cooked beautifully and the potatoes and vegetables were so delicious along side. Had to come again and I got a pizza this time - amazing sauce, perfect proportions of toppings to pizza, great crust, absolutely would get again!! The atmosphere is fresh and modern but still with a hometown feel and the staff are all very personable, friendly, and informational. 10 out of 10, visit this place!!! read more

Favorite place I've eaten at in Homer!! The only low star reviews are from people who came when it was closed or couldn't figure out the hours -- ignore those. I think this place is fairly new (don't think it was here when we visited Homer 2 years ago). It was so great! Our servers were warm and attentive and the food was spectacular. Fancy-ish ambience but guests were dressed casual for the most part and it felt very comfortable. Pasta was fettuccini and tasted great, and the molten chocolate lava cake was by far the best chocolate lava cake I've ever had. SO GOOD, highly recommend!! read more

Stopped in to order a pizza to go. Had two glasses of beer at the bar while I waited. All of the food coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic. My wife and I devoured the pizza in our hotel room in no time at all. This will be a new tradition when we roll into Homer. read more

We had a party of 6, 2 young kids. It was not very busy maybe 3 total tables of customers including us. I handed my 4 year old my phone on low volume and a blonde lady came up and asked me to turn the volume down. Mind you the music was twice as loud and over the talking of others there was no way anyone that was not sitting at the table could hear it. Super rude. After a long drive from anchorage nobody felt like cooking so we did a quick search on google and came across this gem of a restaurant and we are so glad we did! We were offered a seat at the bar right away or a short 5 minute wait for a table . Everything we ordered from drinks to dessert was great but the best dish was the goat cheese appetizer. I was so sad when I heard the Mermaid had shut down and there was a new restaurant in its place. Also more annoyed that the menu appeared to be mostly pizza-I'm so tired of pizza. BUT this is the best food i've had in alaska in a while. The workers are very friendly. It is more than just pizza! Everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked so good. I had two drinks, an app, a desert and a steak dinner for around 50$. II typically don't order steaks when I go out because 90% of the time they're over cooked. I ordered mine medium. Great little place!! Very busy on a Saturday night but once we got a table after a few minutes wait, everything was excellent. Our group tried the stuffed peppers, beet salad, steamed clams, steak, chicken Alfredo pasta, and veggie burger. Everyone liked their dishes, and the chocolate pots de crepe for dessert got rave reviews. Our server was pleasant and super efficient. Will definitely be back. Recommend this place for sure. The food here was amazing, compliments to the chef! My wife and I shared the stuffed red pepper appetizer, I had the shrimp pasta, and my wife had one of their delicious pizzas. 5 star food rating! Unfortunately, the service was frustrating. While my wife and I were waiting for our table, one of the workers walked up to us and said, "I'm not sure if you've spoken with the host yet but I don't want people to feel like they are being stared at. I'm not sure if it's still raining outside." So we asked if she would prefer we wait outside, but she just walked away after her suggesting we were staring at people eating. The host was working hard but wasn't really up front much to greet guests and tell them where they could wait, so it was confusing, frustrating, and honestly embarrassing after the server's comment to us. Every guest who arrived after us went through the same confusion as to where they should wait or check in with the host. This restaurant is quaint and has delicious food, but the service was a bummer. read more

We've had a handful of good meals and good service here as a family. Our last visit there we were seated at 4pm on a Sunday, there were 2 other tables seated at the time. We were there less than 10 minutes when one of the owners asked us to have our toddler stay seated. While I understand the possible intention of this, I believe there was a better way to go about this. Like give us a bit more time to get him settled? Especially given the circumstances at the time on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Unsure of how I feel about going there in the future. Our drinks had been served but we felt uncomfortable to continue ordering dinner and decided to leave to eat somewhere else. read more

service is slow. there's at least four waitstaff walking around and not one asked to take our order. finally after sitting there for 10 minutes and about to leave, a fifth waitstaff person stops by and takes our order. evidently the other four running around doing nothing aren't allowed to assist. looking around it appeared that food was slow to come out and was only one table at a time; guessing there was only one cook in the back. food was mediocre; steak, potatoes wedges, sautéed Mimi peppers onions and mushrooms was my meal. steak cooked to medium rare but chewy, most potato were still in raw state, but the sautéed blend was actually good. fish & chips okay. too much breading and chips (fries) were cold and soggy. this local, Soldotna, customer votes not to eat at the Twisted Goat again......many better eating establishments in Homer. don't have a Facebook account or I'd post this on their page too where more can read a honest review. read more
