My daughter's car was towed in for an evaluation and I got a call from Rod the co-owner of RMB. Not only did he tell me what he thought was wrong with the car , but he said it in a way I could understand it, and quoted me a great price! I am an educated, professional woman, but I know nothing about cars and I am sick of auto repair places that tell you something that you can't understand and get condescending when you ask them to explain (" it's OK little lady I'll take care of it")....and dealers are cost prohibitive. When I told Rod I appreciated the fact that he explained everything in plain English that I could understand, he informed me that his wife Maria (the other half of RMB) was responsible for that. Maria made him call back a client and explain after she overheard him on the phone with the woman. Thank you Maria. So to get to the point of this review....I like this couple, the repairs are a reasonable price and very good. I walked out of the shop and felt as though I had been treated fairly.....and not taken for a ride. If you are anywhere close to Lansing and need an auto repair shop try this one, you won't be disappointed.

I dropped my car off the night before as I work during his hours and received a call after just a couple hours of the shop being open. Tony informed me that there was nothing wrong with my car at all and he could not see a leak that the other place had be speaking to. He said he could keep my car and continue to do tests throughout the day including a drive test. He never found anything wrong with me car so I was 100% scammed by this other place and Tony saved the day. Tony saved me $1,000 in repairs on something that did not need to be repaired and was very honest about the whole process and called me every couple hours as he could tell I was very nervous since I had just been scammed by another place. I needed new tires and he got me an AMAZING deal on tires and charged very little for installation and got rid of my old (very beat up) tires for me for free. Well, I surely was NOT disappointed for picking PFS Auto Repair. Matt, the owner, worked on my car and was amazing ! Sometimes you find an honest mechanic that you have to pay alot for, and sometimes you find a cheap mechanic that does a poor job. This place is the best of both worlds. Easy to work with & friendly from the start. The place isn't much to look at, but most good garages aren't :) They fixed my car right for less than anyone else, plus pointed out some other issues that need to be fixed & it STILL cost less than one of the other places quotes for the original repair. This…read morelocation struggles to keep employees and is not afraid to share it, this seems to be their go-to for the reason things are so terrible. It started when I took me vehicle in for the insurance estimate (trip #1 to the shop), the adjuster was adamant that I scheduled when to bring it back as they were already scheduling out so far. I was hesitant due to our extra vehicle having an issue but I scheduled anyway, he said if anything changes to let them know. I took my vehicle on the scheduled day March 25, 2026,(trip #2) go in to drop it off and they do not have me on the books and never ordered the parts. Schedule again to drop it off for April 3, 2026,(trip #3) this time I was able to successfully drop off my vehicle. They call me April 22, 2026(trip #4) and tell me my vehicle is ready for pick-up, I work in Battle Creek, so I hurried home at the end of the day grab my husband and head over to get it. It was about 15 minutes before they closed, I had not really been home and just wanted to get there so I didnt look it over (I have also NEVER had an issue with any of the other repairs I have had done elsewhere). When I got home I actually looked at it, it was terrible work. There were parts ripped and just sat back in, things that should have been repaired weren't, gaps with over a 1/4" difference from side to side (I measured them) and gaps that were just entirely too large. I called the next day and took it back (trip #5). I was told there is no longer a manager at that location and dealt with the "acting manager". He looked it all over, took into the back to make some of the gaps better and tried to get us to "meet him in the middle" on some of the issue. He then said he would get everything ordered and call us the following day. After a month of not hearing anything I called then again, was informed I would have to bring my vehicle in AGAIN for the issues to be looked at as that person was also no longer employed and there was a new manager. Finally, I was able to take me vehicle in again on June 19,2026 (trip#6) yet the manager was not there. I informed the employee that I would not be leaving without a list of the repairs as I would not be doing this step a 3rd time. He was utterly dumbfounded as to what I was asking for! The manager called me the following Monday June 22, 2026 to discuss the issues with me and told me he would be ordering the parts and would call me "tomorrow". I called again July 16, 2026 as I still had not heard anything. As I sit here almost 3 months now from when I initially picked up my vehicle (just short of 5 months from my accident) my vehicle is still not repaired correctly and I do not have a timeline as to when that will occur, I do know I will still have a minimum of 2 more trips to this shop for this one repair!
