I went in a few weeks ago and spoke to Thor about putting a small system in my vehicle. He told me…read morethat I'd pretty much be able to get it done same day and gave me the price. Since buying the material was going to be cheaper, I went and found the system I wanted and purchased the kit, cords, and antenna. I went back and spoke to Jake and he inspected the material and said that I had everything they needed to install the stereo. I set up an install date on a Friday. It happened to be the snowiest time of year and they called asking if I could move it to an early Tuesday morning. No problem. 9am, I'm there. I got there on Tuesday a few minutes before 9 and Thor was the rep that took my material back and started working on my vehicle. Two hours later I was brought back to look at what could have been thought of as the worst install job ever. He informed me that the dash kit purchased was incorrect, even though their company would have purchased the same kit, cords, and antenna down to the number. He kept apologizing stating that he didn't want the system out there with his name on it the way it was looking. The system works, but it didn't fit in the correctly. He them told me that he was going to call around and give me a call that evening with some sort of a solution. I paid for the install (out of good faith) and awaited his call. 2 days past and I heard nothing so I decided to call him and see what was happening. Thor informed me that he just got in contact with his Metra rep and was waiting in an response. Friday, I received a text message stating that the Metra rep told him they had released a kit two months ago and that I need to take the kit back and get the updated one. When I asked for the model number, he recited the same number on the kit that I had purchased before. Then, I was told to asked for the UPDATED kit or we would have the same issue as before. Then, once I go back and get a new kit, bring it back to them and they would swap it out. My immediate thought was if the item number is the same, the kit would be as well. And since I purchased the kit I had within 2 weeks of having the system installed, chances are I had the new kit. I called Metra myself and informed the rep that I was told a new kit with the same numbers had been released and I needed to swap my current kit for a newer one. I thought I would have been upset when the rep started chuckling on the phone and telling me that if the kit has the same numbers, it's the same kit. The biggest difference was the BB on the end of the numbers which pretty much gave me the flexibility to go with either a single or a double din system. When I sent pictures via email, he told me to go back to the place I got it done and tell them to redo it because the kit fits like a glove in that vehicle, especially since my vehicle was built in 2008 and released in 2009. I called Best Buy and spoke to a Geek Squad member who installs stereos. When I told him I wondered about the new updated dash kit, he told me that if an update was to be achieved, they would change numbers slightly so that people wouldn't be prone to purchasing an outdated kit. I then took my vehicle up to get looked at and the squad rep told me that the person who installed this had no clue how to install a simple system and set me up with an appointment to have it installed correctly. For a fee, of course, but it will be installed correctly as to not have gaps on either side of the system, or have the casing around the system bulging out. I should have just stuck with what I knew.

I was quoted for a two hour job to install a new stereo and a couple accessories. A couple hours…read moreafter my scheduled drop-off, they still hadn't started on the car, but told me it would be done within a few hours. Called them up 3 hours later, was told they had issues with the dash kit that required cutting it, and that it would be 2 more hours. Called them back 2 and a half hours later, still not ready, again given the explanation that the dash kit wasn't fitting properly and needed to be modified. Got a call from them the next morning and they said it'd be another hour or so. Went in, and after a while someone came out and showed me the dash kit to show me what needed to be done to it, i.e. despite the excuses, it hadn't even been touched yet. Another hour went by and they finally had it done, but they couldn't get the steering wheel kit to work, and the dash kit still didn't fit quite right (very similar issues to the other review on here). They offered to sell me one of the steering wheel control kits they had on hand to see if that helped, which I declined. I paid up, went to try the backup camera, and it would work briefly and then just show a black screen while in reverse. I was told it was likely a problem with the camera I'd bought and they wanted me to pay a diagnostic fee to try one of the cameras they had in stock. I declined, took it to a much better shop and they found that they hadn't crimped the wiring or grounded it properly. Had I been told it would take 15 hours instead of 2, instead of the 5 or 6 times they said it would just be another hour or two, I might have given them 3 stars but between the shoddy workmanship, bootprints left all over the *door*, schedule adjustments, and attempts to get me to pay even more for a 100% working install, it was a 1 star experience.

I had a fantastic experience with One Stop Auto. I just recently moved to Lansing from the greater…read moreDetroit area, and had no idea where to go when my rear brake pads and routers needed to be replaced. Needless to say I lucked out by choosing to take my car here!! Maria was extremely professional and helpful throughout the entire process. I dropped my car off on my lunch break, and she offered to drive me back to work (about 3 miles away). We had a nice conversation and she never made me feel like it was an inconvenience for her to give me a lift. My car was done by about 6pm which worked out great with my work schedule. They did a quality job replacing my brake pads/routers, and were never pushy about getting extra/unnecessary work done on my car. Their prices can't be beat - they were extremely fair and got me everything I needed at an excellent price. I ended up saving about $150+ by taking my car here as opposed to a competitor. Overall, I had a great experience with One Stop Auto and would highly recommend them. Awesome combination of customer service, quality, professionalism, friendliness, price, and convenience!

The office is not connected to the repair garage like most places, so one can wait in a quiet room without constantly hearing oil changes and car horns. Ladd, the man who helped me, was extremely helpful and friendly. I'd brought in my own estimate for replacing and recharging my A/C compressor from a competitor, which he was able to beat by ~$200. Ladd quoted the compressor itself only a little cheaper than the other place, but he actually informed me that I could buy a used part and save a lot more money. He was very encouraging when I suggested that I could find the part myself, and said he would be more than happy to install it for me. He did warn me that there was a risk that the part could be faulty, and I would have to pay double to remove it and put the original back in. I was willing to take this risk. I came back with the part a few days later and the work was done within the time frame promised and at the price quoted. No extras or add-ons. They did suggest me buying more freon, but when I said I don't use the air much, they informed me it wasn't necessary. The part was perfect and the installation went smoothly, they said! I am so grateful to Ladd and his team for allowing me to bring in my own part, installing it so professionally, and restoring my car back to new in a matter of hours. Everyone working there was extremely friendly and welcoming, and there is even a Golden Retriever who hangs around the office! Unexpected bonus. Overall--great service, professional job done, very satisfied with results. I will return there with any and all of my car maintenance needs! Thank you Ladd and the team at One Stop Auto!!! :)
