I have purchased custom diamond engagement rings, wedding rings, glassware as well as novelty space ships...Cullen has been the go to guy for us, he has been there for years as well as other employees very low turnover of employees which is nice because they recognize you when you walk in...even when we not buying anything at Twist we always stop by to say hi to everyone when we shop at the mall or go to a movie. We visited Twist in November 2013 while visiting Seattle from NYC. My girlfriend (now fiancee), loves twistonline so we took the opporunity to visit the store. We were greeted by Cullen, who is just amazing, He was patient, humorous and very knowledgeable. My fiancee fell in love with a ring and Cullen slipped me a card with all the info and off we went. By January, it was clear that I needed to get THAT ring. I contacted Cullen by email and he patiently walked me through the process of making the big purchase. Naturally, I was a little nervous about ordering something of this value online, to be shipped UPS, but Cullen was totally reassuring and made it all happen. He worked with me to ship the ring on a specific date so that I could be home the day it would arrive and all along the way he was totally accomodating and really, really attentive. Cullen emailed me the day it shipped with all the tracking info and I sure tracked that package as it made it's way from Seattle!! Sure enough, the ring arrived safe and sound. It was packaged securely and once I got to that nicely bowed little ring box inside, there was a lovely personal note from Cullen attached. The ring is beautiful. I have been a long-time fan and loyal customer of Twist for several years, and I am sad to be writing this. Twist does offer a selection of unique pieces by wonderful artisans. And for me, the lovely sales staff has always been a big draw. It used to be so fun! Sadly, new management has made the place a tense and unenjoyable place to shop. It's difficult to describe, but I've had the oddest sense lately that Twist feels it is doing me a favor, rather than the other way around. In my experience, too, Twist's great customer service tends to grind to a halt once the sale is made - they love you as long as you're spending money, but absolutely will not go to bat for you when something goes wrong. For example, Twist has a strict no refund policy - expect them to stick to that even if there's a problem with the jewelry. I've rolled with the punches because I'm not hugely confrontational and I really like the staff - but that, too, has seen better days. Owners/management forget that regular customers develop relationships with staff, and are motivated in part by those relationships to visit more often and...spend more. Those customers can sense (and care) when staff are not treated well. It's not an attractive look. Nor is it fun to keep seeing your favorite salespeople disappear! All businesses are bottom-line oriented - but some are more obviously so than others. So sad that I have to say good bye - but remember, there's always Essenza in Fremont (which has great customer service when things to go wrong), and several online jewelry retailers carrying the same designers. P.S. Customer service with Twist's online store is not great. read more

Love, love, love Twist! I've been going to this jewelry store for years, from when it was in Pacific Place to it now being at UVillage. They have the most unique and beautiful set of jewelry designers. I went so many places to look for engagement rings, but kept on being met with the rings that were gorgeous but looked like everyone else's rings. Then I went to Twist and found so many amazing rings with both unique and traditional designs. I ended up falling in love with Erika Winters, a local Seattle designer who uses antique diamonds. Shawna at Twist helped me (through numerous days of me coming in!) and was so patient and kind. Once I had made some decisions she handled everything else. Needless to say, my fiancé picked the most beautiful ring from the collection. He even loved the whole experience and working with the team. I bought a pair of earrings and one of them broke within 2 weeks of normal wear. Everyone at Twist was awful to deal with throughout the whole experience. They were rude, short and unwilling to provide any resolution other than to purchase the earring mate for half of what I had already spent! I had no desire to repurchase a product that would break so easily, and they were unwilling to give me even a partial refund or credit for the undamaged earring. Terrible customer service! A 5 star rating can hardly sum up how pleased we are with our experience at Twist. My fiance and I went in to try on engagement rings, which I had assumed would be an uncomfortable, awkward experience. Quite the contrary. Cullen spent over an hour with us, helping us try on engagement rings, bands and telling us stories about him and his wife and when he proposed. We took his card with us when we left and walked across the lobby to Tiffany's. We didn't last more than a minute before the sugary schmoozing overwhelmed us. We nearly RAN out the door, swearing to only ever do business with Twist from that moment on. Fast forward a few months...my fiance proposed with a ring made by Annie Fensterstock. They remembered every last detail that I had discussed in passing while in the store and Cullen and my honey completely recreated a ring similar to the one I tried on in the store, fitting it with a family diamond. Cullen rush ordered the ring for my fella, who had given him a deadline. After I got the ring, it was a bit too big but Twist was so helpful in sending it back to Annie to have her re-size it. Cullen responded to me personally via email about when it was sent and received and he even helped me get the ring appraised while I had it off my finger. I love Twist! I was looking for an engagement/wedding ring that was non-traditional--I didn't want diamonds and all the fuss. I get hivey when I walk into those traditional jewelery places.... Anyway, Twist is amazing. Lots and lots to look at that is all different styles. Sales people are great--they leave you alone when you want to be left alone (I find that very untrue in other jewelry stores) and then help you when you need it. I admit I did end up in the engagement/wedding section of the store, and I found just what I was looking for. I knew it immediately. The woman helping me at the store let me get all excited and weepy and all that, and didn't make me feel pressured to buy it. I walked around the store for 10 minutes with the ring on just to test it out, and she let me be. It was awesome. I cannot imagine a better ring buying experience. I recommend it to anyone looking for jewelry in general, and to anyone who wants a wedding ring without all the hassle/pressure/conformity of other stores. I love Jamie Joseph rings, which are not available where I live, and Cullen has gone out of his way to find 2 rings that I saw online and ship them to me. One of them was a little different than I expected, and he happily paid the return shipping and worked with Jamie to find a replacement that was perfect. We recently got my engagement ring from Twist, and I can't get over what a wonderful experience it was to work with their friendly, patient and excellent staff. I am in love with my ring, and I love that it is from a local Seattle artist and, even more, that it is from a local business.
