Calder Dairy's products are absolutely the best. As a 75 year old connoisseur of chocolate milk, I…read morecan say quite confidently that Calder's chocolate is #1 hands down. Nobody comes close to its richness. My friend and I recently visited Calder Dairy Farm. Our goal was to pet cows and eat ice cream, an annual summer tradition. Since my last visit, they've enlarged the grounds making it more inviting to families and school groups, which as a former teacher, I appreciate. Besides cows, there are plenty of chickens, pigs, ducks, peacocks, goat, and geese to see. It was fun to watch a group of ducks circling around the grounds looking like they were on a mission. Everyone seemed to enjoy the parade. The farm's store is stocked with fresh Calder products, including ice cream, which you can buy in a carton or order in cones. Off to the side of the store, there is a large dining room, which can accommodate small and large groups. I highly recommend all of the Calder products and hope you have the opportunity to visit the farm.

It was a little chilly when we went, but the kids got to see all the animals. My son loved the geese and ducks and couldn't get enough of them. I bought some food from the store to feed the goats and ducks and all the kids loved it. The food conveyor belt was a lot of fun because the goats waited on the platform for it to dump out. One goat even got the food dumped all over his head! It was awesome to see the longhorns up close - although it was quite intimidating too. The store had a great variety and there were plenty of ice cream flavors to sample and choose from. Nice outing for the family.

This is the best ice cream place I've ever been It's like a…read moreclassier better version of a salt & straw. That's all I needed was to find more amazing ice cream in Michigan that I can't take home with me. I'm also never in Ann Arbor so that doesn't help I tried fresh basil ice cream. It was drizzled with lemon olive oil. The most amazing and unique flavors. They have butterfly moon, not blue moon. While blue moon tastes like fruity pebbles, butterfly moon tastes exactly like froot loops and is even the color the milk turns when you have a bowl. Service was friendly and didn't mind us trying lots of samples. How can you not when they're all so amazing and unique !!

I also got the double dark chocolate, which was decent but a little more lackluster than I expected. They have a huge variety of flavors though and it definitely feels like the kind of place you need to come back to multiple times to really explore the menu. Every time I walk by there's basically a line around the block, so clearly people love it. Thankfully when I actually went, the service moved pretty quickly. Definitely somewhere I'd come back to try more flavors.

My Fiancee and I stopped in after seeing a tiktok review…read more... The owner greeted us when we walked in and asked if it was our first time... we got a full run down of the menu. Had samples of ice cream. Eventually, we went with one of their best sellers and another fun item. She got an Ice Cream Nacho with Mackinac Island Fudge. It was a very fun, a very interesting concept, and we enjoyed it. I ordered a lemon cheesecake shake with strawberry topping... it sounded so weird, but was amazing. We will be back!

Not gonna hold you - this place is AMAZING…read more I was SO tired of ice cream places that were ridiculously priced, stingy, and just not that great (regardless of the hype). Set to hunting down a new spot - and found this hidden gem. I can honestly report that I have no complaints about this place. None. And to date, I still can't believe I had previously never known of their existence. That "quiet excellence" has got to go, though; this place deserves to be in the spotlight. So - what I love about it (in the order encountered): - convenient location - great hours - accessible, ample, and free parking - very cute, very attractive, "fantasy land" old-fashioned-in-all-the-right-ways - shoppe, in design and decor (and name, I mean - it really does say it all) - some seating indoors and outdoors - very clean, organized, and well kept...no weird or bad smells (I notice things like that, lol) - consistently very welcoming, friendly, and respectful service - to everyone who enters; family and black-owned. - a nice selection of delicious flavors; some well-trod for those with simpler tastes (My mom loves the Butter Pecan) - along with some great, more unique offerings you will not find everywhere. A friend of ours, loves the Blueberry ice cream they have. Two of My favorites, are the Lemon Cheesecake (lemony, with actual chunks of lemon cheesecake - crust and all!) and Peanut Putter Paradise (mini chocolate peanut butter cups & dollop-swirls of peanut butter). In a waffle cone, of course. Always in a waffle cone. :) - they allow free sampling, to help you make your choice; a necessary and helpful function, because no one is trying to get stuck with something that doesn't resonate, or they don't like; although in this case - the problem is WHICH ONE OF THESE DELICIOUS THINGS DO I GET...?! Lol - high-quality, DELICIOUS ice cream - with all the right flavor pairings and profiles; the right balance of richness, creaminess, etc. No shortcuts, no stingy aspects (elements barely there, like you find in the usual commercial offerings). - an amazing selection of choices of other ice cream and associated offerings...many we have yet to get to, ourselves; I welcome the challenge. Haha - competitively and reasonably priced; especially given the quality of product, service, and atmosphere - as well as the serving size (they are not stingy about it). - everything you could possibly need during your ice cream adventure, is there. Napkins (nice, thick, quilted, absorbent ones!), utensils, hand sanitizer, cups and machine for good-tasting, cold water. From start to finish, it is so very obvious that so much love, intention, and vision went into the creation and construction of every detail of this place. They really invested everything. I cannot praise this place, enough. I don't do flattery. All of this is real - no hyperbole. 10/10 - would DEFINITELY recommend.

Doc's really stands out--the storefront is easily one of the sharpest looking spots in town and it sets the bar high before you've even ordered. My wife and i grabbed two scoops each--chocolate and cookies and cream for me, coffee and chocolate for her. That waffle cone was the real deal; super fresh, crispy, and the perfect vessel for the ice cream. It's exactly the kind of spot you want for a quick treat, and we're already planning our next trip back. Their ice cream and coffee selection was pretty good and they also do flights of ice cream and flights of coffee. We had a flight of ice cream and then had an iced coffee with their signature ice cream blended into it which was called Detroit Grand Slam, this iced coffee was so good I had to go back in and order a pint of the ice cream so I could replicate this iced coffee at home. This place is really cool and we will definitely go back. The lady behind the counter was very nice and very fast. The outdoor seating was a really nice addition to be able to sit outside and enjoy our desserts. You HAVE to come here if you like coffee & ice cream and try the Detroit Grand Slam.
