The lines are queued like Bed Bath and Beyond, and overall I just felt a little blah leaving the store. I don't think I'll return for a while, hopefully they get more merchandise in the store as right now a lot of racks are sparse and lacking quantity.

So I was quite excited to see the Westroads Mall get a BoxLunch location. The staff here was absolutely killing it with service, even with the busy atmosphere of it being a shiny new store with all the fandoms people collect and love. Honestly it felt very much like a Hot Topic, like the signage and the layout seemed to be almost the exact same. Which makes sense as BoxLunch is a subsidiary of Hot Topic - I just thought there would be a little more of a difference. They had a significantly less "edgy" vibe compared to Hot Topics that I've visited before. Consequently, the atmosphere in this store is more relaxed and conducive to shopping. They also have their own exclusive items that aren't the same as Hot Topic (like POPs and Loungefly stuff). It seems to be slightly pricier than similar items I've seen at comparable shops that sell branded and collectible items. I'd still recommend checking out BoxLunch though, as it's cool to see items in person vs. only online. Make sure to bring your bigger pocketbook, both because they have a lot of neat stuff you'll be tempted by and because those things will not be the most inexpensive collectibles you've ever seen!

On more than one occasion, I've walked in only to notice my items already displayed on the sales floor BEFORE I was even given a price offer, paid, or gave them permission to keep those items. This raises serious concerns: What if I didn't agree to the price they wanted to offer me? What if they sold my items from underneath me before I had a chance to decide if I wanted to accept their offer? As a seller, I should have the right to approve or decline an offer BEFORE my items are put out for sale. The way this has been handled feels rushed, unprofessional, and honestly disrespectful to the people who bring in inventory and keep that shop running. I want to continue to support local resale, but I also want to see more transparency and respect for sellers' consent in this process!

This is not the first time this store has disappointed me. One time by I got to the register after…read morecarrying my items and the clearance tag came off one of the items. I explained it to the manager and he did everything but call me a liar. Like I would lie over something for 3 off? He embarrassed me in front of customers. Today a woman was returning an expensive item that she had the receipt for and was told when she called that they would give her a store credit since it was purchased a year ago. At the register they told her no that their policy has changed although it does not state that anywhere except for on the receipt it says " restrictions may apply." You could tell they were making this stuff up. They offered her 1/2 the price. She said no and had to carry the bulky heavy item back to her car. Lesson learned- terrible customer service. The only reason they get one star is that they allow dogs in the store : )
