I researched a couple transport options and different car companies before settling on Go Ride as I…read moreneeded to transport 3 kids which all required a car seats as per California Law. Uber car seat didn't seem to be a reliable option and ride hailing services required a super far transfer to another pickup location. The bus was also triple the time to our destination near the cruise port. Go Ride was very clear about their pricing and they were detailed when answering a follow up question I had about pickup time which was fortunate as our flight ended up getting in 30 mins earlier than scheduled. Our driver, Oscar, arrived early to pick us up - I received an iMessage from him before landing using my airline's in-flight wifi - I was able to send him updates as we got off the plane and got our bags. He pulled up within 5 mins of my last message when we had our bags conveniently right outside the terminal. It was so easy I didn't even need to rent the $8 USD luggage cart and my kids didn't have enough time to complain about any wait. Oscar was really helpful with our bags and had all the car seats already installed correctly! All seats were facing the correct direction, solid, tight and the only adjustment needed was for the actual seat belts themselves to secure the kids. Oscar offered us bottles of water and we were off to the hotel. On the way we had a nice chat and he was totally OK with the youngest child crying for a bit while navigating LA's notorious traffic (he said it was light but to me it was busy). Drop off at the hotel was smooth and we tipped in cash for great service - he impressed us! Once I got connected with a carrier, my car made it across the country in under a week from Maryland to California with no issues. I'm a meticulous person and I made a largish purchase for a car so I even checked the carrier that he found for me, and they had sufficient miles logged and insurance on file, all of which gave me an extra peace of mind. My experience in 2023 was great when Shawn worked there - delivered on time, amazing driver, super communicative but unfortunately it was not as great a couple years later. It seems like Shawn has left the company and Henry now primarily runs it and honestly for an expense that is high as shipping a car, I would recommend looking elsewhere now. I will say their pricing was still competitive compared to other places when I booked it again in 2025, but my car arrived 3-4 days later than quoted and the subcontracted company or Coastal did not keep me updated. I had airtagged my car so I could see that it was still moving, but would have appreciated some more communication. In addition, when I talked to Henry when booking this transport, he called me once and was very quick and dismissive vs Shawn was extremely kind and very happy to talk to me back and forth over what would be ideal. Their quoted pricing in their online website and email is not also not accurate now. I believe when I booked in 2023 the pricing that I was quoted online vs what I paid was accurate, but when I talked to Henry on the phone in 2025, he explained that it would be $200-300 more expensive than what was emailed because of demand, gas, etc which I think is fair...but honestly that feels like a bit of a bait and switch lol. Nevertheless I booked with Coastal again because I had such a great experience with them previously and while my car did get there, I wouldn't use them again. Also after I had already booked the transport they sent me 15+ emails with my original quote to book. I had literally already booked!! Maybe this is faulty technology but it definitely made me feel like a number in their system and not a customer. This may be petty but if I'm spending this much on something there needs to be better customer service and communication.
