I would not recommend Big Strong Back for moving. We had multiple items damaged and our…read moreinstructions were not followed. The entire 2 day move was more stressful as a result of the services rendered by BSB. We have had expert movers move us across states so we are aware of what to expect and we communicated our needs clearly to the owner Eric and throughout the move. We even had to help and be a part of the move to get it done. Most of the crew did not follow our instructions or Eric's. Eric himself caused damages. The service was not as promised and definitely not expert, there was less care taken than we have experienced with day movers hired from UHaul. One item that was damaged was partially remedied with a good resolution but when I provided Eric the list of additional damages, including damages to the lawn, large ruts, and tried to work on a resolution to reimburse us for damages he showed up unannounced to our home with an officer. I was never provided the certificate of insurance which I requested prior to the move. I understand our move was complex but we were charged an additional $2,233. The discussion about damages went from civil to no discussion at all. The move was not complete after the 2 days and he promised to finish it on Saturday but he reneged and instead showed up with an officer and was not willing to discuss the damages.

We weren't sure that the truck was large enough to get all of our items in (it wasn't). I wish I'd payed more attention to how things were packed. My Amish made dining room table was placed under another Amish kitchen table (feet first!) on top of it, and a weight bench was placed in-between. The dining room table on the bottom was scratched and dented, and the legs for the table on top broke. Both were damaged due to the weight of the items. Additionally, there were hand and foot prints on my light couch. I spoke with Tim regarding my dissatisfaction. I recognize that they are not responsible for damage that occurs during transit, but this is a result of poor packing. Tim's response was that his guys are good packers and that we were expecting them to fit everything in the truck. This was not the case. After our tables and couch were loaded, there was still 3/4 of room left in the truck. We had about $8,000 worth of damage, and Tim said there was nothing they could do. The carelessness is inexcusable. Hire at your own risk!
