My husband and I took our RV here for the first time this week. I can't think of one single thing that would have made our stay better. The park is very neat and clean and everyone here is so friendly. We took advantage of the fishing, the adult pool and the dog park. We will definitely be back. read more

Twin Lakes Resort, TX. We have rented both VRBO and AIRBNB. We want to separate the review into two parts: The "Resort" and the "Tiny Home" because the home is privately owned. The good stuff first: The water tastes good and I drink water 24/7 so that was nice. The pools are open and refreshing even in this Sept. heat. The staff is super nice and made us feel welcome. The overall appearance of the grounds is neat and clean. We especially appreciated the natural surroundings and the lake for our Labrador. That was a big bonus for us. Now the bad stuff: Resort had two of the main features were out of service. The simulated golf and the water park were both closed during our entire 2 week stay. We felt like those two items are what really made this resort stand out and one of the reasons we chose to stay here. We are here to visit our daughter and granddaughter and expected to enjoy the resort with them. On top of that, the WiFi is not strong enough to support the needs of the park. Most of the time we couldn't even watch TV. We had reported this on day one and they said they would ask corporate to assist with a router or a solution but nothing ever happened. Perhaps the owner didn't respond? We do have good cell service both Verizon and AT&T. So scrolling most nights. The game room is fun but the equipment is old and crooked. The pool table FELT is shot and it leans to one side, the shuffleboard table leans to one side. The air hockey table would not work. There was no ping pong paddles or balls to play in the bigger game room. We had our checkout date wrong and "corporate called us and charged us another night without any discount for making it a full 2 weeks thus a weekly rate... Oh no it had to be a "new contract". So we paid full price even though we didn't begin to get our moneys worth at A BROKEN DOWN RESORT. TINY HOME: The home is basically clean and the beds are comfortable. The linens are fine. We had to purchase several items that were either missing or worn out: blow dryer, can opener, clothes hangers, ice trays, salt & pepper, all the dishes are plastic even the coffee cups. We bought real coffee cups IYKYK. Cookware & silverware were okay. The dryer had a couple inches of lint in the filter which isn't marked so not sure it's ever been found or cleaned. Again we were here for two weeks so we found "stuff". The cleaning supplies are limited. The resort did bring me some Lysol and trash bags when I asked. Wishes: Corporate and The owners should allow the GM a budget to keep the guests happy. Fix the WiFi for the whole park. Nicer dishes- we spent a lot of rent money to eat on plastic. A ceiling fan on the front porch would have been awesome. A piece of pool noodle around the bedframe leg. (May have broke my toe) read more

Stayed in Tiny Home #1 during Labor Day weekend. We had previously stayed here for July 4th last year and had such a great experience, so we were really looking forward to coming back and having the same experience. Unfortunately, this stay was very disappointing. When we arrived, the house was extremely hot. There was a note stating not to lower the temperature below 70 degrees, but the house felt more like 78-80 degrees because the AC simply could not keep up with the Texas heat. The bedroom was slightly cooler, but still not very comfortable. Thankfully, we brought a fan, and my parents had an extra fan for us to use so we could help circulate air from the bedroom into the main living area. The biggest issue, however, was that the house was infested with ants. They were everywhere. We found ant spray under the sink, which made it seem like this may be an ongoing issue, especially since it was the only thing stored under there. We used the spray and initially thought the problem was under control, but the ants quickly came back. Unfortunately, my daughter received multiple bites, as did my husband and I. We also found spiders inside the house and spider webs in several corners. We went to the office to report the issues. The person we spoke with did not really acknowledge or apologize for the situation. He got on his phone to talk to someone about it and told us that someone would come over to take care of the ant problem. We waited in the house for two hours, but no one ever showed up, and we never received any follow-up or communication. We were also disappointed with several of the amenities that were advertised. Inside the pickleball and shuffleboard area, there was nothing available to actually play the games with. There were no pickleball paddles, shuffleboard sticks, or any other equipment available. We spoke with a maintenance person about the missing equipment and were told it would be taken care of, but nothing ever happened. The fire pits also did not work. We had planned on using them to make s'mores, which was something we were really looking forward to, but we were unable to use them. We mentioned this issue to the same maintenance person, but again, nothing was done about it. Overall, several of the amenities advertised were simply not available or usable during our stay, which was very disappointing. I was really disappointed because our first stay here was amazing, which is why we decided to return. Before posting this review, I also read another review from only eight days ago mentioning the exact same issues. That makes it even more disappointing because it seems these problems may not have been addressed. This place is unfortunately not what we hoped it would be based on our previous experience. We really wanted to love our second stay as much as our first, but between the heat, the ant infestation, other bugs, unavailable amenities, non-working fire pits, and the lack of response or follow-through from staff, we left very disappointed. read more

The second star is a generous gift! Mixed Thoughts: Disappointing, "Looks Nice" and "Oh Yeah, That" part was good. We reserved space for a party at Landstar Resorts Managed Twin Lakes Tiny Home & RV Park in Mount Pleasant, Tx. And we rented Little House #1. Don't be fooled! It isn't necessary #1. It isn't by the lake's edge, except where shown in the professional drawing when they present it to aid your selecting the getaway spot. Nor do they list that the front office closes at 6-pm on Friday night, so get here before then to get your key. The people on the ground are fine. They're trying but with a big corporate overwatch, equipment doesn't work, AC units operate on their last leg, and rules rule the roost, but the ants and spiders do like the sheltered getaway from the Texas heat and sun. We preferred the AC to actually cool below 85+, and the kids didn't like the ants in their beds every night! One of us received a nasty spider bite in the pretty kitchen, and well, the master bedroom did have a good working AC, but then it was a small room- and we had to leave the door open to allow that AC to compensate for dying AC in the main house (same size units... probably need a little more invested there! We ended up leaving before dark on the second night. The first night someone came within an hour, sprayed for ants, and changed the sheets. That was the last maintenance support we were able to get- dispute repeated requests to their voicemail and text line. On the second day from hanging out we returned to the room to find it even less cooled that on the first day. And it was the spider bite day, and the ants were back. I guess treating for insects is too costly - they like to just spray some poison in the infested area, which happen to be where the six kids were staying ( except it was almost too hot for even kids in the loft area). Before dark on that second day, after no response from anyone, we loaded up and moved on out. The next morning I did receive a phone call, on Sunday morning, stating he was the General Manager and he apologized for the issues- and he said someone will be reaching out in a day or so to discuss in detail our issues- which really is Twin Lakes Issues, but I knew what he meant. I waited a week. Not a peep. I even sent a text to share with the team there that I am a reviewer and I do honest reviews, I wanted to ensure they had an opportunity to respond as they felt appropriate to their property issues on our paid stay. No response. Did I expect at least half the money refunded for a shabby accommodation despite their lack of advertising that we were renting the property by the non-existent lake, shared by Spiders and Ants - with two AC units (even though only one was actually working). Oh, there are some good things going on there. Nice daytime rental spot for a party (albeit the party area is not guaranteed, your credit card is held ransom and if staff has to move something back in place after the party, you have a signed agreement that they will charge your card. There is an entire list of guaranteed-charges assessed for property violations. They will provide it a day or so before the party you scheduled months prior to the date! Someone from your party grabs a paddle boat, your card is charged. Someone stays beyond the allowed time, your card is charged for violating the rules. The furniture isn't as arranged by the staff, your card is charged. I am trying to point out the good but sometimes the bad outweighs the good! I hope your experience is different! read more

Twin Lakes Resort was not our destination at first. After an issue at our original destination I booked with twin Lakes. They were happy to get us in after hours. The amenities are too many to list! They even have a dog washing station! The staff was awesome, I forgot a tool and they had some one bring me a tool. The grounds are impeccable from the indoor swimming to the dog park, a water park for kids (my dogs sure wanted to get in there) and signage everywhere answering and question you could have on the facilities. We will definitely be back Soon! read more
