Of course I assumed AC work may or may not be expensive depending on the problem and after receiving a high quote I needed to run it by my husband. Also come to find out they charge mostly the labor because we found the parts I needed online for $215. (My quote was almost $1600 not including the money they robbed me of) They said they still needed to charge me ($217) because they topped off (it wasn't empty) and recharge my ac. I didn't ask them to do either of those things, just to run a diagnostic which I would have paid for if there was a cost for that, no problem. I asked the man at the counter if doing those things was going to temporarily help with the cold air and he said yes. A lie. Come to find out because my issue is my compressor, recharging and adding more Freon was a total waste of time and money. That's $217 wasted on something I didn't even ask them to do. I imagine they won't be willing to refund me so all I can do is try to help someone else to STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!

This business sent me a text to offer appointments for services. I made a special trip to meet the…read morenew owner Shal. I explained what I needed my brakes replaced. I asked if I dropped off my vehicle on Sunday (Easter Sunday) if he could get it done on Monday. He said yes. I explained that I would pick it up after work (3:00).Again he said it would be fine. I had a friend drop me off. On Monday I called around 1:00 to check to see if my vehicle was ready. Stephen told me it would be ready in a "couple of hours". I asked so if I come around 3:30 it should be ready. He said yes. At 3:00 when I got home I called again expecting my car would be ready and I wanted to get the price so I could bring enough cash. Stephen again answered and told me "it was the next one in the bay". They close at 5:00. The last thing I wanted was a rushed job. Plus I felt lied to. There are many other shops that can replace brakes in my area. I will avoid this shop in the future and save myself time and frustration. Plus I don't want anyone rushing to get my car ready. After I got my key from the office I caught Shal to explain my disappointment after I took so much time to get this vehicle dropped off and picked up by another friend. Neither he nor anyone in the office seemed apologetic nor care that they didn't get my car ready as they said. Too bad so sad was their attitude. That's my attitude as well as I will move on to another service center that appreciates their customers and their business. And I would certainly not refer any one I know here. They are too busy for us anyway.

These guys are great, been going here for years now and they're always willing to check out little…read morethings for us on a moment's notice and open longer than most shops. Their style is more casual than corporate and that is great for some people and makes others nervous if that's what you're used to, but they're all about fixing anything that is a true mechanical issue or safety hazard, but won't ever push you on anything cosmetic or non-essential, which is great if you're not a millionaire with a car budget to match! They're all much more into doing than talking at this shop, so if I had to give constructive criticism I'd say communicating more about the car's issues/options would make people feel better, but if you have to choose between a mechanic that will talk to you or one who will just fix what's wrong at a very fair/low price, I'll take the latter every single day. :)

I was pulled over at the gas station to the left of Express Auto Center trying to fill my tire with…read moreair. It was noticeably flat but i could not find any punctures so i assumed it could be refilled with the air pump machine. Well, the machine would fill my other 3 tires but not the one that was flat. I even had a nice group of people test my pressure and they believed there must be a puncture. I was honestly in a pretty bad situation. Had to be somewhere pretty soon, and couldn't really afford to drive on it and ruin the rims as it was super close to being rim on pavement. The group that checked my gauge mentioned i should try to walk over to Express Auto to see if they could patch it. I walked in, and was immediately greeted by the owner and the friendly workers. I explained I was stuck on the other side of their shop. Without hesitation, he sent me an awesome guy to come look at my car with me. He jacked up my wheel at the air pump and literally carried my wheel back with him to the store. The whole time I was there they never tried to sell me on anything and I could tell they genuinely wanted to help. After only like 10 minutes with no appointment, the man who helped me with my tire walked back over to my car and explained that the tire i had mustve been sealed wrong because it was leaking air. There were no punctures so I wouldnt have been able to figure it out. He said that he tested it and resealed it with some adhesive and made sure it did not continue to deflate. Jacked up the car, and put my tire back on. The whole time I felt like i was a hassle because they did not have to help me at all really. I go back to the store to thank them and see how much it would cost and the owner tells me that I am good he does not want any payment...I couldnt believe it. How friendly and helpful they were, let alone that he wouldnt even charge me? I returned to the store to try and give him at least some cash because it was so helpful and i greatly appreciated everyone there. He refused. He said to give it to some of those who may be in more need. Honestly made my day and reminded me there are still good people in this world. Sorry to inform you Monroe Tire, the work your mechanic performed on my eclipse wasn't done…read morecorrectly. Everyone, I paid Monroe Tire for a motor mount and valve cover gasket. Soon afterwards there was issues. Took my vehicle to Midas a month later due to a significant amount of engine oil sitting on top of the motor and engine movement. They verified the work wasn't done correctly. When I called Monroe tire about the issue, the manager declared Midas was wrong. Took my car back to Monroe Tire for them to address the issues. They drove the vehicle decided all motor mounts were bad and thought best to replace all mounts. Paid for replacement of all 4 mounts, manager said he warrantied out a couple mounts still charged well over $500. Also, assured me the valve cover gasket was installed correctly. He said to resolve the issue with the oil he made an adjustment to the oil cap. The bandaid he applied didn't work. Left the shop and had drove no more than a mile and noticed the oil hand on my dash wasn't working. I've never had any issue with the hands on my dash before. Immediately turned around and went back to Monroe Tire for them to fix whatever they did wrong. The manager's attitude was on the lines of maybe I was lying. Not long afterwards felt some engine movement. Decided when it comes to repairing a vehicle, the guys at Monroe Tire have no clue what they're doing. Finally, I had to go to a reputable shop to have those issues resolved. And accept the huge sum of money I lost dealing with Monroe Tire. Just to let you guys know I'm very pleased with the shop that resolved both my issues. The valve cover gasket and mounts have been installed correctly. My engine no longer is covered in oil and no more movement.

The last time I was there, the mechanic kept coming into the lobby to give me updates, explain what they were doing, and let me know how much longer it would be. That kind of communication and care is rare. What really stands out is that they're not trying to upsell or squeeze money out of you. They focus on doing solid work and taking care of their customers. In fact, every time I've been there, my final bill has come out lower than what they originally quoted--which never happens anywhere else. I was referred here through family, and now I see why most of their business comes from word of mouth. Once you go here, you don't really want to go anywhere else!

I am a resident of Kodak and needed work done on my 2006 F-150. Was having torque converter shudder…read moreand needed it replaced. I frequent the convenience center in Kodak and couldn't help but notice a huge sign advertising Jim's Automotive. I called Jim and he stated that he did that type of work (I've always supported local small business) so I booked the job with him. Now please understand that I am ASE CERTIFIED Technician with 40yrs experience. I booked this job with Jim as I am new to the area and do not have a lift available to me to do this job. The work was done on 5-1-26 On 5-26-26 my truck suddenly began to shake at high speeds and shudder at low speeds. This is text book tell tail sign of a torque converter pump fins falling apart. Upon speaking with (what I would imagine) be Jim's service writer it was confirmed to me that they used a remanufactured torque converter. These used parts have a 30% failure rate. From 2017 thru 2022 I was the Mgr of A Oreilly Auto Parts store 5227 in Miami Florida and never recommended any reman part to a professional shop due to their failure rate, this being a starter, alternator, a/c compressor and least off all a torque converter. The difference in price is minimal but the quality is monumental. Shame on me for not seeing any ASE signage and not following what I preach. Only allow fellow ASE Certified technicians work on my vehicles. Jim gave me a total BS story that what I was feeling was a misfire from the motor. He stated the the torque converter showed no sign of failure and would not be honoring the warranty. This is typical shade tree mechanic excuse. Do not recommend this place for any type of serious work. If you need any type of serious work done on your vehicle go to Ricks in downtown Sevierville.

I get a threatening text message from somebody else from this company threatening to sue me which they have no grounds and my reviews have now been taken off of Facebook and I have been suspended from Facebook pages. They have silenced me because they are mad that I called them out. They somehow got to one of the admins and I have been blocked from posting my review. This is my original review: am disgusted by the disrespect I just recieved from Autoworks Of Knoxville. I am not one to leave reviews however I feel this is necessary to put out because of how I was just treated. Today is July 11, 2025. I called this place on Wednesday because I needed my front brakes and rotors replaced my Husband and I were calling around a few places to get quotes. I spoke to the lady that answered she said let me get your number. I'll get you a quote sent over. 24 hours later, so Thursday she still had not gotten back to me so I called and said "hey I'm not sure if I miss something. Can you get that sent over because we really need to get our car in." She then asked for all of the information that I had previously given her the day before when we spoke (I also found out that my husband had called them on Tuesday of this week and he never got a response.) So I re-text her all the information they give me a quote. My husband and I are thinking on it. We called a few places to get quotes and everybody was right around the same price. $1,700-$1,800 These people could get us in the quickest so I started asking some questions about how long our car would be out because we have kids. It's our only driving vehicle and if we could bring our own parts to try to alleviate some of the cost. I was informed that they will not put parts on that are from somewhere else so we discussed it and seeing as though all the prices were about the same, we figured we would go with these people so I reached out again and I tried to ask them another question and my messages kept getting left on read ---she had her read receipts on----She was reading my messages, not answering. So three hours later, I try to follow up with my question again. She reads it and she still does not respond. From 9:30 am to 3 pm i messaged 4 times. It was not until my latest message calling them out that i got a reaponse. I Decided to call one more place (Fisher Tire) and this place was going to be less than $600 to do this job! So three more hours go by I find a cheaper place and I decide to reach out to these people and let them know. Hey, I'm not sure if you just don't want the business (because its now been 6 hours she' read the messages but she's not answering me) or what the problem is but I found somewhere that is only charging $580 so I'm a little off putt by the fact that your price was almost $1800. I feel that you guys are scamming people and I almost lost out on $1200 and I think that's so morally wrong. She then proceeds to get mad that I'm texting her personal number which I had no idea. I'm just responding to the number that texted me and she starts to get very angry and saying they already put me on the schedule for Wednesday even though Tuesday was the day they had available. And that I was gonna be bringing my own parts which she told me I wasn't allowed to do that and she's trying to say that I'm confusing her ---- she deleted these messages. I did not think she was going to delete them so I did not screenshot them in time. She then told me that I need to stop texting her because she's getting pissed off , yes she use those words "you're pissing me off" is what she said (she then unsent those messages within a couple minutes and I did not catch them in time) but you can see that there are three messages that she unsent because they were rude and aggressive towards me. She tells me to stop messaging her personal phone and block me. THEN SHE CALLS ME!!! And starts yelling at me on the phone. Of course she does this because i cant prove it. I tried to record the phone call but my phone was not doing it and it went so fast. I do not know why she feels It's OK to have this level of unprofessionalism and disrespect to a customer just because i called them out for almost stealing $1200 from us. They got called out for this outlandish price, they got angry. I would not recommend this place to anybody! Not only are they overpriced but they are incredibly rude.
