This is absolutely worth it!! Our group size was small enough to feel safe for social distancing. The tour guide used a mic, so we could hear everything. Our tour guide said the animals get closer when there are kids around and that was very true. I've gone to the zoo many times this past year and never seen this much animal activity! read more

We got the chance to experience a twilight zoo tour with Takio & Charles and it was truly an awesome experience! The zoo is a fun place but even more enjoyable with two guides who inform you about the animals, are enthusiastic about their jobs and are friendly and fun. We loved their passion and love for the animals and informative tour. You also get to chance to see a lot of animals that are asleep during the day which was a delightful experience. Thank you so much for sharing your passion with us! We loved learning about the animals! It was definitely an experience our daughter will remember. read more

My husband and I did a Friday Twilight tour at the Honolulu Zoo. We typically do some kind of animal oriented educational activity when we travel. I didn't have very high hopes for a zoo in the middle of the ocean, but we were definitely surprised. Since it was darker out, we saw animals that you would typically see sleeping all day. Since we were broken up into smaller groups, everyone got to see everything. The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and encouraged questions. They were great! I would absolutely recommend this tour if you are on Oahu! read more

It was a nice tour without the heat of the day and the usual crowds. Takio did a really good job highlighting the animals on the tour and some of the history of the Honolulu Zoo. The tour doesn't include every area of the zoo but hits some of the more popular exhibits. Some of the animals are taken off their exhibits at dusk. Our family really enjoyed the tour but our only regret is that they were not able to see the Sun Bears. We hardly see them during the day so was excited to possibly observe them at the end of the day. A really good tour for families! read more

Took our kids-9 &7 on this tour Saturday afternoon 430-630pm. It was a wonderful tour with Takio & Mami. We learned so much and saw many animals. We would do this again on our next visit of Honolulu. The tour only had about 15 guests, gave us pretzels & drinks in the classroom at the end of the tour as well. read more

The Twilight Tour was so fun! We got to see a lot of the animals being a lot more active than they tend to be in the afternoon, and the experience with the guides is very entertaining and educational. You get to hear a lot of cute and funny stories about the animals. I also learned a lot of facts that I didn't know previously! Louise the hippo was very friendly and inquisitive, definitely the coolest experience we had. The baboons are absolutely hilarious -- one has a green ring that he likes to throw around and we got to be witness to it. The only animal we weren't able to see were the elephants, but those aren't too hard to spot when you go during normal hours (since they are diurnal). I definitely recommend it, for adults or children, and for $15-20 it's a steal! read more

I have been to this zoo twice before and the Twilight Tour is by far the best way to experience the zoo. It was quiet and you could hear the animals throughout the zoo instead of people. The animals were also all out and active since the sun was going down and the temperature was cooler. Our guide, Charles, was so awesome! Our group left having learned so much about the animals and conservation efforts! I also loved getting to learn their names and ages. This is a fantastic tour and I highly recommend it to everyone. It's great for all ages. There were very young children, teenagers, and elderly couples in our group. All seemed to have equally enjoyed. read more

Super fun! Highly recommended! Our guides Conner and Micah were very knowledgeable and great at answering questions from the kids. They were very enthusiastic about the animals and conservation. The animals were more active right before sunset. We had the best time and will definitely be back! read more

Great tour. Animals are way more active than during the day. The guides Takio and Conner were funny, personable and informative. Highly recommended. One thing they should stop doing is the Obama plug at the end of the tour. Kudos to them for mentioning what they are saying isn't political. But come on guys. Leave this out completely. Think about if you would be mentioning Trump at all during the tour if he visited as a kid then as an adult. If not, same goes for Obama. read more

We took our son and his friends on the tour for his 6th birthday and it was amazing. Connar lead us through the zoo and answered every question that the group of curious minds had. Seeing the animals at a different time of day was amazing. It was really a great birthday and the staff was incredible. read more

Fun educational and a new perspective on the zoo we have visited in the past.

Twilight Tours is THE way to visit the zoo! Takio and Connor were wonderful and very knowledgeable tour guides while the animals were very cooperative and surprisingly active! Bonus...NO blazing heat, a pretty sunset, and cool breeze the entire time! read more

We take our kids to the zoo all the time. This was our first time going on the twilight tour. We learned so much, I'm so happy we decided to go. It's amazing how informative Conner is and we found out he's still in high school! All the employees were very personable. I would recommend this tour to everyone visiting the zoo, local or tourist. read more

Have been a member of the zoo for a long time and go to the zoo on a bi-weekly basis. Final had a Friday off and decided to try their twilight tour. My husband and I were not disappointed. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and kept us moving at a good pace. It was a cool night and we got to see many of the animals up and moving and heard the lion and lioness roaring. It is a two hour walking tour with no breaks so make sure to wear good walking shoes and have a strolly for the little ones. Would definitely recommend it and would do the tour again. read more

Bought a Tour for our son and family and we all went and thoroughly enjoyed it. Takio and Kayla were fun and helpful and full of information on a wide variety of animals. They showcased animals that most of us may not pay that much attention to, thus we all learned something that was not always written on the display boards. Takio explained about the noises the animals made, especially the lions, which we were fortunate to hear. I know the next time I go to the zoo, I will appreciate it even more. Highly recommended, worth the price. read more

Could not find parking anywhere around the zoo. Including at our hotel. We serched for 30 minutes And gave up after our tour started. Hopefully we get a full refund so I can give a better review and visit the zoo at a different date. read more

My wife and I discovered the tour by happenstance while looking for events that were happening today. This is our last day before heading back to CA and the Twilight Tour at the Honolulu Zoo was a perfect outing to end a perfect week! Our guides, Takio and Scarlett were excellent; knowledgeable, personable, and entertaining. We were able to see some animal behaviors that we might not have seen otherwise. Overall, we truly enjoyed the tour and highly recommend it! read more

My Fiancé and I went in the twilight Tour this past Saturday 2/24. We really enjoyed it, it was very nice to be at the zoo after the normal hours of operation. We really loved it because we were able to see a lot of animals the most times be hiding during the day. We really enjoyed the tour guide Scarlett. I personally thought she was the most knowledgeable and had a lot of information that were new to me. I wish she was the one conducting our tour instead of throwing in some additional information. She was absolutely great I recommend everyone tour with her. read more

Took my 9 year old grandson and 5 year old granddaughter on the Twighlight Tour. Spencer who is working toward a zoology degree was our guide. Great personality...so knowledgeable about the different animals and really kept the kids engaged in the nearly 2 hour tour. Bring mosquito repellent and some water since it gets a little warm during the tour and mosquitoes are plentiful. Highly recommend this tour for all ages. Perfect time since it starts at 530 and ends at about 715 so you can head into Waikiki for dinner. Parking took awhile so get there at least 30 minutes before to get parking in the zoo parking lot. read more

We had booked last minute tickets for the 24th of November, and couldn't be more please. This tour is well constructed, full of interesting information, and fun. If you plan to bring a stroller, as we did, try to keep it on the smaller side, as the groups tend to be larger and there isn't a lot of stroller room. No complaints though! Shout out to Connor & Micah, both very passionate and friendly guides. Thanks again! read more

Tickets were sold out online the night we could go so we tried for stand by and got in. We are so glad we did. The tour started at 5:30pm and by that time the daytime heat had started to cool down so most of the animals were up and walking around. Our tour guide, Takio was the best. He knew a lot about the zoo's history, the animals and their species' history, and provided "freaky facts" on each. We learned so much! The tour and time was so value - interesting, special, and fun. We recommend to anyone. Family friendly too. read more

Great! The kids loved it & because it was later in the afternoon it was much cooler (a plus for mommy and daddy).

Super cool tour. Takio knows a lot of interesting stories about the animals. Lion was roaring during our tour and it was fascinating.

Great tour guides lead you through the Honolulu Zoo. This is definitely the best time to see the animals. Highly recommended.

GF bought tickets to the twilight tour and I did not know what to expect. ABSOLUTELY one of my favorite adventures in Hawaii. Takio and Connor were a wealth of information. Small zoo but well curated. Excellent way to hit sights that close early then head here for a much more in depth look into conservation and importance of zoos. read more
