I came here while staying in Joseph and I'm so glad I did! They surprised me in many ways…read more First, the food. The menu is your typical list of burgers and such. That looked good. But their specials caught my eye. They go far beyond their menu so be sure to check them out. After two hard days hiking in the Wallowas, I wanted to eat something healthy so I had their Spinach Salad with grilled chicken. It was perfect and the fresh berries in it were amazing! I was also surprised to see this place also serves craft cocktails. I didn't have it but they had a special that was very creative and looked quite tasty. The greatest surprise was the live music. I was here on a Thursday night and it seems like a few places in town start music on those nights after a quiet week. Two bands played. They were both awesome. A few folks started swing dancing. I stayed until closing. So fun! And service was super friendly, especially towards an obvious outsider that I was that night. I hope to return to Joseph someday soon and will definitely return here!

One of the best hamburgers I've had in a long time (I use 5-Guys as my benchmark). Here is a piece of real meat with a substantial bun. The wife had an Oriental Chicken salad which looked real good (I would have had food envy except my burger was so good). Don't forget to finish off your meal with either some good looking baked items or a scoop of Cascade Glacier ice cream. Seriously, my burger could have come from the best restaurant in Portland. But, then all the charming and helpful staff would be missing. Don't pass it up!!

The not so good: They say they have local beef, so we ordered the burger, which was cooked to death, and I was excited to have sweet potato fries on the menu, but they were soggy and wreaked of old oil, the kind that gives you a stomach ache all the way home. Maybe it was just an off day, will try again some other time. Trying to stay optimistic.
