*The Art of Giving & Gifting*…read more Nestled inside the Rancho Mirage Marketplace (next-door to See's Candies) is this beautiful newborn gift shop, brought to you by none other than the sweet & lovely Donna. I noticed they recently opened (2 weeks ago to be exact) and today was the day I planned to stop by and say hello...and offer a warm welcome to the neighborhood. This store is exactly what the neighborhood needs...and the time couldn't be better as the holiday season is upon us and right around the corner. From the moment I stepped inside I felt a warm & caring vibe...and was immediately greeted & welcomed from the charming store owner...and her friendly & well-trained assistant ~~ Donna's doggie Roxy :-) Lots of accessories, vases, jewelry, purses, crystal ware, neon signs, hard to find items...and so much more galore is packed inside this wonderful store. Make sure to stop on by to say hi and see for yourself...and get into the spirt of gifting or be Gift'ed.

I'd like to think I'm hipper than the hippest person out there... but I'm honest enough to admit…read moreI'm not anymore. I used to be deeply plugged into the fashion world. I wasn't just following trends, I was ahead of them. I wore things before they hit, before they made sense to anyone else. That takes effort, instinct, and money. It's a different kind of life. And unless you're in it every single day, on the creative or design side, you slowly lose touch with what's emerging now. Walking into Mojave Flea Trading Post brought all of that back in a very real way. I feel completely comfortable in a space like this, but it also reminds me of a version of myself that used to help shape what people wore. There's a quiet nostalgia to it. Not regret, just awareness. I don't need to be that person anymore. Now I care about different things. I look for natural fabrics like 100% cotton and linen, pieces that breathe, pieces that feel good on your skin and don't come with all the hidden downsides. And this store delivers on that. There are racks of thoughtfully curated items that feel both current and wearable, coming from new designers who are clearly paying attention. It's not just clothing. It's a point of view. And what makes it even better is the space itself. There's a matcha spot and a small food area tucked into the back where you can sit, slow down, and just enjoy being there. It turns a shopping trip into something more like an experience. This is a genuinely great addition to Palm Springs. The kind of place that gives the city a little more edge, a little more relevance. Palm Springs is lucky to have it.
