Let me preface this review with the fact that I'm not an ice cream lover, ghasp! How could I be…read morereviewing an ice cream joint and giving it five stars??? It's all about the dough(I believe they had six different types)! I died and went to cookie dough heaven so much so that I went the two days that I was visiting Fargo. It's tucked in a quaint alley, I had to ask some locals where to find it and the walking in circles was SO entirely worth it. You can get ice cream, ice cream and cookie dough, cookie dough, popcorn, or all of the above! Each time I opted for a scoop of dough (okay maybe two scoops the first day) and a scoop of ice cream. The gentleman behind the counter helped me the first time and suggested I get vanilla ice cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, and peanut butter cookie dough. Drool. I dreamt about that all night which is what prompted me to return the next afternoon. This time I settled for one scoop of dough and one scoop of ice cream. I somehow couldn't justify six scoops of sugary goodness in less than 24 hours. The place is small and there was a line each time but they're very efficient and the wait was minimal. They have a few tables inside and a table or two outside in the alley way where you can watch people on a nice summer afternoon or evening. If I didn't live two plane flights away from this place I'd be in serious danger.

This is somewhere I love to take people who haven't been to Fargo much. It's something that most all people can enjoy, plus the shop is super cute. It's in a newly modernized alley of downtown called Robert's Alley, which can be confusing to find until you are a little more familiar with the area. I think there is maybe a parking garage nearby but your best option is to just park along the street or somewhere downtown and walk. You can only get to Scoop N Dough by walking, biking, or other non-motorized vehicular routes. Though the experience of cookie dough & ice cream is great, I do think it's pretty extravagant. The cookie dough is incredibly sweet and rich, and I can never finish my cup because it almost makes my stomach hurt, it's just too much for me. So that's just a warning- it still tastes fantastic and is fun to try at least once. And I did see they are getting another location along 32nd Ave, almost in West Fargo, which is cool!

If you are ordering pastries and coffee you will be on one side, whereas, if you are looking to order off the menu with full service, you will be on the bar side. Nichole's is a well oiled machine. The setup is easy to navigate and the concept is unique. Blending pastries, coffee, cakes, cooking products, wine, breakfast, lunch and dinner into one space is magnificent. I loved my intimate dine in session ordering the avocado toast on sourdough bread with an over hard egg and an orange hot tea. It was the perfect blend and was the best avocado toast I ever had. My belly was far too full after brunch so I went to the bakery side after and bought a chocolate raspberry muffin (also the best muffin I've ever had), chocolate chip cookies (darn near ate them all in one setting) and poppyseed thumbprint cookies with a raspberry filling (jaw dropping). There are so many more products to taste and see so I highly recommend a visit. I totally look forward to my return in August so I can dabble more with pastries and get into the espresso world too. Thank you, Nichole's!! Glorious all around. Bravo!

When I walked in here and saw the husband and wife (presumably) working feverishly behind the counter, and a young daughter running back and forth following assigned chores, I immediately knew this was a place I wanted to give my business. I love the effort, and it shows through what they sell. I bet they had at least a dozen types of cookies sitting out, and it was tempting to try a handful or more rather than one, max two (which is what I SHOULD stick to). I tried a ginger cookie and loved it. We also got a cheese garlic bread which was soft, gooey, and wonderful. Then, there were all the other things they had- cake pops, croissants, and other breads. And also soups and sandwiches. I'm not sure if they rotate what they make or if it's consistent, but either way I definitely want to come back and support such a humble business. Major props!

However, the soup today was Beef Barley, which is a soup I'm not a fan of. I'll watch their social media and stop by for soup when I see one that's more up my alley. A couple of Mondays ago, I stopped in Fargo to run a few final errands before crossing over the border to return to Winnipeg. I wanted my last drink from Caribou Coffee. I did a search and found this one close by. This cafe is in a plaza. My map app got me to the wrong part of the plaza. I somehow managed to get back on track and saw the back of the cafe first... haha! This cafe has a drive-thru. I decided to check it out. I got a friendly woman on the other end. She asked me if I had a Caribou account. I did and rattled off my phone number. She found me and asked what I'd like to order. I saw a sugar-free passionfruit yuzu sparkling energy drink on the menu that I had never had. I went with it and got a large. At a quick glance, I noticed that this cafe had Milk cookies. I got a cornflake chocolate chip marshmallow cookie. When I pulled up to the window, I tapped my credit card to pay for my items. It didn't take long for my drink to be made. I also got my cookie. I thanked the woman and made my way northbound. It was a nice sendoff getting my 'bou fix. The energy drink helped me get to Winnipeg without needed a nap. The passionfruit flavour was a bit stronger than the yuzu. I frankly would have liked it reversed. The flavour seemed off, as if they shouldn't be paired together. I'd rather have a bright, citrusy yuzu instead of a dull passionfruit taste with faint yuzu notes. I put my cookie away. When I checked in to my hotel room in Winnipeg, I had the cookie. OMG! I should have bought more. This cookie had everything that I loved. Crispy cornflake bits. Chocolate chips. Dabs of marshmallow in every bite. It was so good. I hope that it's still on the menu the next time I'm back stateside in a state that has Caribou Coffee. I am so importing this cookie! I loved stopping by this cafe. I will avoid ordering the sugar-free passionfruit yuzu and will go with other sparkling drinks that I love. (501)
