If you enjoy soup, you will like lunch at K's. I think there were about 5-6 choices that day - I ended up choosing the Knoephla and it was great. While I didn't memorize the other food choices, I recall a variety of sandwiches and I recall a special of a Wild Rice Casserole. I went with the 1/2 Sandwich & 1/2 Soup special. For the sandwich, I picked a chicken salad on croissant. You also get a choice of chips or a cookie. Both the soup and the sandwich tasted so good, that I made a mental note that I need to come back here to try other soups and sandwiches. Pie tin scam. They charge you extra for a cheap pie tin. Then when you bring the tin back they claim to have lost the charge slip. They DO NOT refund any of the extra money they charged you and do not give you the pie tins back that you were charged for!!! HORRIBLE, SCAMMERS!!! DO NOT GO HERE, shady business practices. Nickel and dimming for a stupid pipe tin. I have NEVER been to a bakery that charges extra for a stupid pie tin. What a SCAM!!!!!!! SHAME ON YOU! should stand by you baking, not by ripping people off with pie tins. read more

K's has by far the best roasted chicken sandwich; also they make homemade pies, custard is my favorite, and delicious homemade soups. The service and atmosphere is friendly and homey. read more

Good place to go for a homemade bowl of soup or sandwich. My problem is I don't appreciate getting my bowl of soup in a plastic to go container when I'm dining in. Cups of soup apparently come in a bowl. Plated food or sandwiches get a regular plate- not to go. Service is not always the friendliest even when you go at a quieter hour. I get the feeling everyone there is multi tasking and working back in the kitchen preparing catering food or something. If you ask about getting your soup in plastic container expect to be looked at like you must have expected it on the Queen's China. Prices aren't as if you are at McDonald's and it is a sit-in establishment Sandwiches are great and dessert ok depending on what you buy or expect. read more

It was my first time eating lunch here. I had a cold chicken salad sandwich and it was amazing. The salad was very tasty and the wheat bread was moist and chewy, Overall, very delicious. I highly recommend trying this place. read more

This place is FANTASTIC. Handmade, homemade classics. We moved away and were just back for a visit - K remembered us and made a special order of our favorite discontinued item! She loaned us the pan to take it home, chatted us up, and made us feel so special. Coffee is also terrific! I was really teetering between 3 and 4 here. I've been twice, and will be back for more, which is ultimately why I went with 4 stars. It is a little hard to find if you're going on address. The easier thing to do would be to look for the Bottle Barn - K's is on the back side of the building. Inside, they have quite a variety of tables and chairs to sit at. I think they were going for a home-y sort of feel, but it feels a bit disorganized to me. That feeling isn't helped by the three random display cases and scattered menu boards all over the front of the space. IMO - they could use a bit better organization of their goods. As it is, it takes a few minutes to get your bearings and figure out what exactly is for sale. In general, they seem to always have 14 bars, 2-3 kinds of pie, 2-3 kinds of cake, 2 cupcake varieties, and several cookies ready to go. As for the goodies - here's what we've tried so far and how it's fared: Carrot Bars - 5 Stars - These are impeccably soft and sweet. Reason enough to come back again. Banana Bars - 5 Stars - Perfect again. Just the right amount of banana and incredibly soft. Brownies - 4 Stars - Not as soft as they could be, and maybe lacking a little bit of frosting for my taste, but the flavor was spot on. Cookies - 4 Stars - Flavorful, tasty, not too overpriced. Red Velvet Cupcakes - 0 Stars - This is where the wheels fell off. When I tasted this cupcake, I imagined Ms. K in the back with a box of white cake mix in one hand and some container labeled "artificial red food coloring" in the other. She sneezes and mixes all of the red food coloring in. She says "eh, we'll call it 'red velvet'" and bakes them up. They really were awful. My fingertips were dyed red just from touching them and the flavor could only be described as "chemical". The frosting they used wasn't right for a cupcake - it was very soft and gelatinous instead of having the sort of thick, buttery substance to it that I think of when I imagine cream cheese frosting on a cupcake. So I really hated the red velvet cupcake, but everything else was great! They do offer lunch options and coffee, which I am yet to try. I would definitely say it is worth it to stop in and try out a treat here. read more

I have been a faithful patron of K's bakery for many years. From holidays to birthdays, K's has always provided me with 5 Star desserts. In reading the other posts, I was mortified by the comment of the Red Velvet Cupcakes. Obviously, this man has no taste buds or knows when he is eating a divine treat! K's is known for her Red Velvet Cake, she has been in the paper in regards to how delectable this cake is!! In our house, this cake has to be hidden or it will be devoured within the hour I bring it home! I had to admit I chuckled when the decor of this fine establishment was described. As someone who is VISUALLY IMPAIRED, I can see the menu with no assistance, I appreciate that the staff helps me outside and the service is outstanding! I plan on telling anyone and everyone to give K's Bakery a visit! read more
