A summer favorite of our family to head over to Moorhead and hit the Tastee Freez. On top of the good selection of frosty treats and a nice value, the venue offers a bit of nostalgia to an era of the old school ice cream stands. They have a varying specials and following their Facebook page informs me and develops my cravings.

Tastee Freez is Moorhead's best-kept secret! It may not look like much from the outside, but the ice cream is the best in town - which is saying a lot considering the recent boom in local frozen novelty shops. This locally-owned hidden gem has truly stood the test of time. My personal favorite is the Freezee (think DQ blizzard, but better). Bring cash to partake in the .99 cent (plus tax) deal of the day! Important note: grill closes at 8:30 p.m.

    Great sundae for the price

Been going here for over 40 years and glad to see people continue supporting it. I like their selection of food and ice cream

If you live in the area and haven't come to tastee freez yet you're doing it wrong. Such a fun local gem with great ice cream. Stop by after going for a walk with friends or the family. I mean where else can you get an ice cream sundae with teddy grahams!

Owner is rude and clipped. Food was also awful. The place was also dirty and needed a good cleaning

This is somewhere I love to take people who haven't been to Fargo much. It's something that most all people can enjoy, plus the shop is super cute. It's in a newly modernized alley of downtown called Robert's Alley, which can be confusing to find until you are a little more familiar with the area. I think there is maybe a parking garage nearby but your best option is to just park along the street or somewhere downtown and walk. You can only get to Scoop N Dough by walking, biking, or other non-motorized vehicular routes. Though the experience of cookie dough & ice cream is great, I do think it's pretty extravagant. The cookie dough is incredibly sweet and rich, and I can never finish my cup because it almost makes my stomach hurt, it's just too much for me. So that's just a warning- it still tastes fantastic and is fun to try at least once. And I did see they are getting another location along 32nd Ave, almost in West Fargo, which is cool!

The flavored popcorn is a nice addition as well. If you are not familiar with the area, the entrance is located in the alley, not far off of 2nd Ave N. This is an excellent addition to downtown Fargo. For these warmer months, their outside "wall" is an overhead door that opens up into the alley, with some additional seating.

This store is open from March 1st through October 31st. It's closed for Easter Sunday and July 4th during this period. It's open from 10 am till 10 pm during this seasonal period. I came when it was closed last month. It was worth it. I got to take a photo of the world's largest dilly bar at its birthplace. It's cool and impressive! This DQ is historic. It's one of the oldest ones in the States. It was opened in 1949 by Bob and Phyllis Litherland. The torch (maybe dilly bar is more appropriate) was handed over to current owners, Troy and Diane DeLeon in 1995. The way things work is that you walk up to the window when it's open. There should be menus on either side. You order, pay, and you get your goodies there. I saw a sign for curbside pickup, which is nice that it's available. There is patio seating outside. This store looks tiny that I highly doubt that there is any room inside to sit down and enjoy frozen treats. I was thrilled to have dropped by. I'm not sure when I'll be in the area when this DQ is open. I'd be happy to stop by for a dilly bar and more when the timing is right. (4)
