It is both a kitchy and tasty must see. We are always up for a roadside attraction. One that sells ice-cream on top of it is a win for me! The service was quick. While we only had ice-cream treats this site does offer more.

A classic for sure! The vibes are the best part of this place. The ice cream was good but not amazing. I got the banana pudding ice cream and it basically was just vanilla.

This DQ is pretty cool. It might not look like much when driving by, but it is worth a stop. As far as I could tell, it was outdoor seating only. To order, you have to walk up to a window. When your order is ready, another window will open and your name will be called out. Service seemed a little bit slower than other DQs I've been to, but I will attribute that to their more expanded menu. They have so many different things I haven't seen at any other DQ (including dairy-free dilly bars and Heath dilly bars)! It appeared that for every category of food they serve, they had one unique thing you can't find anywhere else. The quality was on par with other DQs too.

The birthplace of the Dilly Bar! This Dairy Queen is an absolute must stop when in the Moorhead area. This is the location where the famous Dairy Queen Dilly Bar was invented and is one of the few remaining locations that still makes their Dilly Bars by hand! You can definitely taste the love that goes into each ice cream creation. This is an outdoor only eating situation and features ordering from the counter on the street. This DQ is a bit of a "rebel" when it comes to Dairy Queen corporate and is still able to have some local items on their menu, definitely check it out! The staff is fun and friendly and makes this stop worthwhile. Also, get your picture next to the world's largest Dilly Bar outside! Enjoy the cool treats on the hot summer days! Cheers!

I have went to this location several times and my experience has been amazing every time. I have gotten a blueberry brownie blizzard here before, a grasshopper pie blizzard, and a raspberry sundae, and all three of them have been amazing. As you have noticed, the menu items I named are not available at any other Dairy Queen as this one is unique as they have a special contract with Dairy Queen that allows them to do so. The staff has always been friendly here, the building is just so neat, and is definitely a staple of Moorhead, Minnesota. 10/10 would recommend!

The legendary home of the "Dilly Bar! The Dilly bar was created here in 1955. This was one of the first Dairy Queen restaurants in the franchise and remains one of the oldest. The owners have always been an important part of the community. That legacy continues today through the philanthropic generosity of Troy and Diane DeLeon. Included in the photos I posted, are Troy and Diane being recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Northern Plains Chapter as the "Philanthropists of the Year" at the 2022 National Philanthropy Day in Fargo.

A classic Dairy Queen that serves heritage treats like the Mr. Maltie, Monkey Tail and Chipper sandwich. They also have a lengthy list of Blizzard flavors. I had a Peanut Butter Bash, hubby had a Heath Caramel Brownie Blizzard and we shared a Monkey Tail so we could try a heritage treat. So good! We like to stop when we travel through Moorhead, it's a family tradition.

This is a super fun stop if you're a DQ fan! We stopped here on the way to MN and it was the perfect 11am treat! We ordered the Dilly Bar and it was super fun!

Fantastic service. When we arrived the line was quite long but the staff handled it really well and the line moved fast. A real treat.

Best ice cream in Fargo/Moorhead and hands down the best DQ for miles. Hot spot on any given summer night!

This is somewhere I love to take people who haven't been to Fargo much. It's something that most all people can enjoy, plus the shop is super cute. It's in a newly modernized alley of downtown called Robert's Alley, which can be confusing to find until you are a little more familiar with the area. I think there is maybe a parking garage nearby but your best option is to just park along the street or somewhere downtown and walk. You can only get to Scoop N Dough by walking, biking, or other non-motorized vehicular routes. Though the experience of cookie dough & ice cream is great, I do think it's pretty extravagant. The cookie dough is incredibly sweet and rich, and I can never finish my cup because it almost makes my stomach hurt, it's just too much for me. So that's just a warning- it still tastes fantastic and is fun to try at least once. And I did see they are getting another location along 32nd Ave, almost in West Fargo, which is cool!

The flavored popcorn is a nice addition as well. If you are not familiar with the area, the entrance is located in the alley, not far off of 2nd Ave N. This is an excellent addition to downtown Fargo. For these warmer months, their outside "wall" is an overhead door that opens up into the alley, with some additional seating.

We r not smokers and don't like being around smoke. She was polite with a delightful demeanor and said she would be right with us. She said 2 of the options we wanted were not available. 'They just got a new shipment & she didn't have time to unload them yet' (yet she had time to smoke a cigarette) She said it would take 6 minutes for the brownies to be done... she was smart enough to give my Moms brownie and ice cream first while we wait for the brownies. I sat there and waited about 10 minutes while she was in the back the whole time.. no update..then a crowd came in and she helped about 6 more people which took another 10 minutes.. Then a lady asked for one of the cookies I asked for which she said was unavailable... but the worker told the lady it would be a 20 minute wait, so after she was finished helping that lady and was on her way to the back, I asked if she could add one for me too. She said 'exchange it with a brownie?' I said 'no, just add it'. She asked me again and I said it again.. seemed like she was trying to get out of doing more work. I waited another 15 minutes & by this time my Mom was finished with her brownie for 10 minutes.. the worker was in the back and two more workers just got there so they were telling each other about the day... she finally came out with my brownies 30 minutes after we had ordered to tell give them to us. I had to remind her I hadn't paid for the cookie yet.. she politely rang me up and gave me the receipts as requested. I really didn't like the lack of communication. Maybe they were short staffed.. I won't be going back there even if my Mom wants to. Bad taste in my moth before I even got a chance to try their product. I'm saving it for when I go home.
