We absolutely love Tasha!! She's kind, sweet, patient and knowledgeable about the current education system & requirements for each grade. My 6 year old was struggling with sight words and reading. My 9 year old had been struggling with math. We decided to call Tutor Nerds hoping for the best and within a couple of weeks we have seen such an improvement! I can't rave about Tasha enough. I talk about her to everyone I know, especially friends/parents who knew my 9 year old had been struggling. I tried tutoring my kids on my own but I didn't see much improvement. I was worried my 6 year old wouldn't connect with other tutors as she is picky with who she works with and it takes her some time to connect with adults. But she quickly connected with Tasha and I think it's because Tasha adjusts her teaching style to the child. My 6 year old has picked up more sight words and can sound out her reading which is something she couldn't do before Tasha began tutoring her. Her confidence has grown which has benefited her greatly. In class she participates more and her teacher has seen such an improvement. As for my nine year old, she used to spend 2 hours a night on homework and this was with my help. She had gained confidence and is beginning to love math. She is learning new strategies from Tasha which she had applied during class. She only spends 25 minutes each night on homework now which leaves more time for reading and then relaxing. I have a much happier nine year old thanks to her tutor. I highly respect Tasha and definitely ask her for feedback & teaching suggestions often because I fully trust her. Also, she speaks Spanish! She is extremely intelligent and some day she's going to be one of the most successful teachers in her district. Thank you for everything you do for our children. When I had a conference with my 5 year old daughters kindergarten teacher, I was told she was behind in reading/letters. Obviously the thought of my daughter struggling in school terrified me, and I started my search for the perfect tutor. Her teacher and I agreed that she needed improvement quick, and that wasting time on a tutor with no fast results was not an option. After reading SEVERAL reviews with other companies, I decided to call Tutor Nerds. After telling Adam my needs, he put me in touch with FARRAH. I was hesitant about the entire experience, until opened my door that first day and saw Farrah's face. Not only was she beautiful, but she had a great ora about her. I felt the positive energy and was excited to see how well my daughter would do with her new tutor. Farrah is modest, quiet, but very sweet and KNOWS how to engage with small (and somewhat difficult) kids. She is amazing with my daughter, who does not focus well and loves to test authority. My biggest worry was finding someone who wouldn't mesh well with my strong willed/hard headed daughter. My daughter absolutely loves her time with Farrah and looks forward to her weekly sessions...she wakes up a lot of days and says "do I get tutoring today?!" She absolutely loves Farrah...and as any parent knows, when your child is that young, they definitely need to ENJOY what they are doing or they will not thrive, nor will they want to continue. My daughters teacher tested her a few weeks after our first tutor session, and has continued to retest my daughter every few weeks and has seen tremendous results. Her teacher and I are very pleased with the progress and extra help Farrah has given to my daughter. I definitely see Farrah being a major factor in my daughters learning experience and would love to have her throughout my daughters years as she gets older and her reading levels/standards increase.
