My issues was corrected by the business owner however I am not happy with the subcontractors used for the job.

DO NOT under any circumstances contact Jimmy if you want the job done right the first time without being cussed out and berated. I have only rarely felt compelled to leave a scathing review of any kind before today, but this tale is absolutely unbelievable without recorded and photographic proof. In December of 2018 I called Turtle Tuff, and James came out that Saturday within the hour to quote me new garage doors. Off to a good start. I put a down payment that weekend of half the cost, and the doors were ordered; after a couple botched attempts at coming out to install them (not their fault, computer issues at manufacturer) they finally came out on December 28th but the doors were roughly 2 inches short of the opening in the center, which I was promised would be sealed that upcoming Wednesday the 6th when they returned to "double stop the top" and take a look at the clunky opening motion. Wednesday comes and goes; no word. I contact James on 1/11 to ask if they still planned on finishing the doors. Reply was short but basically "installer was swamped, he'll be there tomorrow" . Tomorrow comes and goes; no word. I contact James on 1/25. I know he says he's swamped, but just some arbitrary date in the future would be better than the "I'll be there tomorrow if the installer can't make it" response I got. Yet again, tomorrow comes, and no word. James contacts me on 2/5, asking if I'm home. I was not, but I gave him the garage door code to finish. Get home; doors weren't done, no word. I contact James on the 6th. No response; contact James on the 7th; no response. Called him from a different number on 2/10 since no messages had been responded to. Tells me installer will be out there "Today". No surprise at this point - no call, no show. At this point I become very frustrated and file a credit dispute on the deposit on the doors in the hopes that when money is involved, he'll actually show up to finish and stop spiking my energy bill from the very drafty doors. Get a random call on 2/19 from James saying someone's at my house to finish. I get home; nothing had been done, nobody had been by. Call James to inform him. He forgets who I am at first, but then has me send pictures of the doors to see whats wrong with them. After asking him if anybody had been by on 2/20 to finish/fix my doors without a response, at the request of my credit card company I asked for a return/refund since it was clear there was no intention of finishing the doors. Well, that did it; I was berated by James about my patience being, and I quote, "a joke", but there was a promising sign that he may actually finish the doors, so I let him know he was welcome to come and finish the doors any time and if he had done it the last 5 times, I would not have had to take it this far. I get home and lo and behold, the doors are finished. They still open pretty clunky, and after multiple requests, I had not gotten an invoice nor warranty paperwork, but decided, even after being berated, I'd leave it alone for now and cancel the dispute; which should close within a few days as per the credit company. Fast forward to today and I receive an email that is downright unprofessional and threatening in its demeanor that should never be written to anybody, let alone a customer of your business. Like I said, if I did not have photographic proof, would you believe this was sent by an owner of locally owned small business TO A CUSTOMER?! I am warning everybody reading this right now; contact and patronize this company AT YOUR OWN RISK. James may seem nice and well mannered at first, but 'rudeness' and 'poor customer service' does not even come close to describing this experience. From start to finish, all told, the entire ordeal took almost three months, and has left me feeling threatened in my own home. BUYER BEWARE - if you want prompt service, or any service at all, I recommend you do NOT do your business with this man. In the interests of full transparency, I have since installed a security camera, changed my garage door code, and contacted the sheriff's office. read more

Jimmy H aka Ronnie L should be in jail. He's a con artist that tries to get you to pay cash and upfront so he can half ass the job and never plans on returning for any issues. Fortunately my issues were minor and I didn't pay him until done (1/2 cash and remainder by check). He said he'd be there in the afternoon for 3-4 hr garage door install but showed at 7 pm and left at 2 am. He tried to keep one of two outside key pads as he said I only needed one. He also tried to keep 2 of 4 remotes as each door cane with two. I had to very directly and almost yell at him that he would keep nothing of what I paid for. When we hired him, my wife's mom had also done the same. She wasn't as lucky and made the mistake of paying everything upfront. They did one door, started the 2nd but never attached the opener to door and left. They never returned and left a ladder, tools and a radio. My wife's mom was treated horribly by Jimmy H with hasty F words etc when she tried calling or texting him. He turned off his phones. I live in OP, KS and have contacted the OPPD and they are in contact with Lee Summit PD (he lives in Lee Summit area) for threats he made. The Better Business Bureau has also been notified via official complaint. DO NOT hire this man or the company he represents. read more

This company was unprofessional. My home warranty company sent them out over a month to fix my door.Usually, when my home warranty company send a repair company the repair company will confirm one of the times I choose. I told them when they when I was available.Turtle Tuff Called me the next afternoon and said they were on the way. That was not a day I told them. They said the bottom two panels of my door needed replaced. They submitted a claim to my warranty company within the week. The home warranty approved the repair. It t took them a month to come back. I had to keep calling to get some response.The guy came out to look at my door to measure panels a week ago Friday, and he was supposed to come out to install the next day. Saturday morning I emailed Gerald to see when the guy would be out. He said he would get back to me Jim got in the office. He did not get back to me until 4 pm, and when he finally got back to me had another excuse. They were supposed waiting on my warranty company. They finally heard from my warranty company. My warranty company was supposed to pay $175.00 and I was supposed to pay $475.00 Unfortunately, somehow they had they had moved job to another business named Dillion's Garage without my knowledge. He came last Tuesday to measure the panel again. He said he would be back to replace them. He was given a down payment of $250.00 when he initially came out, and he never gave me a receipt. I told him I had appointment Thursday afternoon. He said he would work around my schedule. I didn't hear from him until Thursday. Then he said he would be out today. He had me give him another $250.00 instead of the whole amount. Do not trust either of those guys. read more

I hired Turtle Tuff Overhead door to replace a garage door. They replaced the garage door and also stole speakers and new electric door locks that I was going to install. Next the garage door failed in 15 days after my tenant started using it. The tension springs were not set correctly. I contacted the owner Jimmy Haney ( AKA Ronnie Larkins Jr) and asked him to fix it. He sent out workers who inspected the install and explained that the springs where installed wrong which caused the top panel to buckle and break the garage door opener. They said that they were going to get parts to fix it but never came back. I contact Jimmy many times about this and was promised that they were going to fix it. After 45 days I contacted Jimmy one more time giving him 3 days to fix or I was going to have to hire someone else and bill him or take him to court. He then got mean and started dropping the F..... Bomb in many text messages. I would stay away from this company as they do not follow through have employees that will steal from you and will not correct a mistake done by one of their own employees. Unfortunately I had a Service Call from Turtle Tuff Overhead Door. A lady came to my house and she was an hour late from her supposedly appointment time. She was hired to fix my Garage Doors and she didn't even have a ladder to look at the Opener. All she did was spray the rollers where the garage door goes UP and Down and this she thought fixed the garage doors. She had no Company Vehicle, No License, No Certification, and she begged me for money. This so-called Garage Door helper said that the spray she used was $75.00 a can, and then she said 2-cans for $75.00. This poor lady was so desperate for money she asked me for money 10x in 30 minutes. How annoying was this, and I of course read the reviews and I almost threw up. These people are Con-Artist, Out to beat people out of their hard earned money. This Company is Despicable, Dishonest, Unequivocally Tryin' to Defraud the Public Of Their Hard Earned Money. I think the Attorney Generals Office should investigate this Company and See if they are Licensed, Insured or Bonded. read more

Worked with Brittany for a home warranty call. She was great. Fast, took extra initiative to get all my issues resolved even when reprogramming one keypad literally required solving a math code with the levers...not kidding...and it was an incredibly cold night. I can't speak for other employees, but Brittany was great. As a girl, it puts me at ease to have a woman service tech, so that was an extra plus for me. Knew her stuff, figured out things she wasn't sure of rather than just passing the issue off and gave me some excellent advice on how to keep my doors rolling and because of that - they have a new customer! After reading the other reviews I feel lucky. Fortunately no money was lost, just time. Customer service and human respect are not part of this companies policies. I called and asked for service on a garage door opener. Whoever answered the phone seemed rushed and acted like I was more of a bother than a potential customer. When I did not hear from them the first day, I texted to confirm that I was on their schedule for today. I heard nothing from them, so I called. The same rude man answered the phone and was even worse than he was on the first phone call. I don't believe that yelling and rudeness will win you customers. Scheduled three appointments and each time no one showed up or even called. When I finally got a tech out here, he was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly, and was able to diagnose and repair the problem with my garage door opener in about 15 minutes. Now, my other garage door is having the same issues. As pleased as I was with the service from the tech, using three of my eight vacation days for the year waiting on repair men from Turtle Tuff to actually show up will have me going with another company for the repairs. read more

Installed garage doors for newly built home, once they were in they took our money and ran. We have not been able to get them back in to fix gaps where the doors don't fit tightly, assistance with setting the keypad codes, missing braces on the installation, etc. We have called numerous times, when we get someone they ask us to call back later or text them the information and never follow-up. When we told them we were calling them from a land-line they said they would call back because they were driving and we never hear back from them. Overall installation was poor, they shorted up braces needed to hold the tracts into place, did not insure the doors fit properly, and overall poor customer service. do not recommend. read more

Unfortunately, I have had an extremely bad experience with this company. In November 2018 I had them install 2 garage door openers. It is now April of 2019, and one of the doors needs adjusting .... the cable keeps falling off. I have called at least 15 times. Each time I have been given a time he will be out to repair. No show. Call again.... same deal.... no show. Call again, same deal, no show. Call again, same deal, no show. Jimmy, the owner, finally told me not to bother him any more and hung up on me. You get what you pay for! Called Jimmy for an estimate to replace both of our garage doors. He did measurements without our approval, and gave me a quote over the phone. With the very cheap price, he would not take any appointments, and would have to take whatever day was convenient for him. When the day came, he said he would be here first thing in the morning, but did not show up, and called me to tell me he woke up late, and that I would be his first job. Nope, he didn't show up until about 6pm that day. He had a one man crew to install both garage doors. Poor guy was by himself working until 1am. Since garage doors were brown and white, they promised to come back the next day to paint the doors. Next day, no show. I texted Jimmy, but he said he was out of town, and will paint them when he gets back. When he gets back, I text him again. He gave another excuse for not showing. Week later, we end up painting the garage doors ourselves. No text, no call, no show. Completely ghosted us. If you want the job done right and on time, do not call Jimmy. read more

1 star is totally generous for Jimmy! DO NOT ever, ever get him. I filed a claim with the home warranty and he was assigned. To being with, he took more than a day to reach out once he was assigned. After he came home to diagnose the problem, he never came back although he was in such hurry to collect the money that day. He never sent the diagnosis over to the home warranty after a week !!! I called Jimmy many times during that week and he never mentioned anything about that. Instead, the only thing he mentioned is that he had ordered the replacement piece from the manufacturer but it was not being delivered to him. After a week waiting for him, I decided to call the home warranty company. They told me that they never got the diagnosis information from the tech (Jimmy) and they never approved any fix/repair. Liar!! After that, I immediately called Jimmy but he never picked up the phone. I gave him more than 12 days to come back or even call me until today that I'm writing this review. We had a garage door issue and have a home warranty so they sent out turtle Tuff - he was great at first. Jim was friendly and knowledgeable. My home warranty company would only pay for basic replacement but he convinced me to do some upgrades since we had no keypad etc. he also gave me a general idea on what it would cost when we were ready for new doors and to change from 2 to 1 big door. I paid Him my $60 service call and he said he would be out in a few days to fix garage opener and install wifi/key pad etc. thank GOD I didnt pay Him in advance. He didn't ever follow up so i called/ he told me they were busy but we were slated for Saturday and Sunday. I said ok just let me know. No show no call. I called Back the next Monday- he said we were on the schedule for Tuesday between 12-2. He didn't show. Called back said we were scheduled for Thursday 2-4. No show. I then contacted the home warranty place who sent him to me/ he told her Tuesday between 12-4. No show. They tried to contact him again multiple times to be send directly to vm. Now- I'm from a family of small business owners. I understand Having staffing problems and employees not showing up etc. which is why I gave multiple chances and understood all these excuses.
