Love it here. One of our favorites for sure!! This essentially sits right on the beach. Well cared for. Picnic area and grills available. Nice camp host met us when we arrived. Good email communication from Sarasota County. Gated. This is a very tiny campground so it's difficult to get a reservation unfortunately. There's a size limit on the campers as it is fairly tight getting into your site. You must pack your patience when coming in and going out due to there being only one single road with the sites situated on each side of the road. Your vehicle is a tight fit as well. Tents welcome. Safe for kids. Bathhouse used to be available and it was quite nice but they had to remove it after hurricane damage. Now there are bath/shower trailers. There's a very lovely park next door with a new playground, kayak rentals and a boat ramp. read more

Beautiful sunsets-free trolley to the main areas-our favorite camping spot!! The thing we most enjoyed on this stay was the campground hosts, Debbie and Greg-they were welcoming, very helpful, and home made sausage balls for us on our last evening for our travel day breakfast, fantastic customer consideration-big shout out to them as our best park hosts ever!! read more

Last year, when we were vacationing in Siesta Key, we rode our bikes all the way to the south end of the island and discovered Turtle Beach. It had a children's playground, parking, restroom, outdoor showers, some benches and of course the beach. We then were pleasantly surprised to find adjacent to Turtle Beach Park some outdoor picnic tables with the permanent large straw umbrellas in a designated area for the Turtle Beach Campground. As we walked through the "campground" we discovered that it really is more like a RV parking campground though there were a few tents. You must make reservation early to book a spot. This is an ideal location for those people who like to camp near the ocean. There isn't much space for the site you rent, however just go the beach OR the picnic table area. There are some restrictions for size and I believe the max quantity of people per site is six. This is truly more like a family campground and not a party place. At least one adult must be an overnight guest on each site and quiet time (aka no running RV/campers) from 11 pm - 7 am. One needs to be very careful when making your reservation as the "lot" is very small so the size you say you will have MUST be what it is as they can cancel it, even to when you pull up. Basically, go check the guidelines. What's really cool is that there is hot shower and laundry facilities, hookup for water, swer, electric ampage, and wifi as part of your rate. Depending on when you come, in our case, late Dec/Winter is ~$60/night with add-ons for weekends and holidays. BUT, if you stay for more than a week, or for over 28 night, different discounts. And you cannot beat the location! There is a trolley that comes down the the Park that you can take to the other side of the island. Keep your fingers crossed that the weather is nice, and the mosquitos/noseeum stay away, because it will be a lovely time! read more

We came with our small kids 3 and 1 yr old had such a great time. The beach just incredible. The ladies taking care of the site were very welcoming and nice to us. As long as you follow the rules you'll have a great time. Is a calm place def to relax. No issue will def be booking future stays. Sucky part was the wifi is very slow and unstable and signal was not the best. But that allowed us to enjoy even more not much technology :D read more

They DO NOT welcome pets, Judy was adamant about this policy of theirs with no regret... what camper/ rv'er/ vacationer would stay at a place that won't welcome your beloved pet? Hmmm... I'd go elsewhere... pet haters have no place in vacation planning and recreation. Good riddance Turtle Beach, we'll gladly take our business elsewhere, where our Bailey boy, who's very well behaved and lovable pet will be welcomed. Very expensive for what you get. Super tiny spaces. Our site was on the other side of the wall of the dumpster. Stunk the whole time. The bathrooms weren't clean. Stalls are so short! Very uncomfortable. I don't recommend this place. Pay $25 more and stay in a nice hotel. read more

Turtle Beach Campground is an RV and Tent campground with beach access to the Gulf of Mexico. Sarasota County calls it Turtle Beach Campground but some may refer to it as Gulf Beach Campground. Here you will find bathrooms, picnic areas, free wifi, grills, a playground, volleyball court, pits to play horseshoe, an area to launch kayaks & canoes, and fishing spots. The only downside to this campground is the fact that they don't allow pets. This is mainly due to the Turtle migration. Limit 6 campers to one site including 1 adult, no campfires, and quiet time is between 11pm-7am. This isn't exactly a party campground. For additional rules, see the Sarasota County website. Off season Summer Rates - From $178-$235 per week (excluding tax) In season Winter Rates - From $280-$365 per week (excluding tax) If you love camping, Turtle beach is a nice, somewhat secluded, beach. Turtle Beach doesn't have the pure white sand like Siesta Key Beach but for the price, I don't think you can go wrong here. From what I've read, this is one of only 3 campgrounds on the west coast of Florida with beach access. read more

Might have given more stars, but the extremely rude front desk lady refused to rent a spot to us. Why? Because instead of having a 40' RV plus a pull behind car we have a 30' rv and a tiny 8' motorcycle trailer that's light enough to be moved by hand we would have put beside our RV. Our footprint would have been smaller than 80% of the other campers, but that didn't matter to the dragon at the gate. Or perhaps it did. Maybe our brand new RV and motorcycle (no loud pipes either) weren't nice enough for her highness?!? Guess we'll never know. We'll definitely never be back even when we are pulling our car. If by chance management reads this review I HIGHLY suggest having a conversation with little Ms. Fire Breather. Avoid this little piece of hell unless you want to come away slightly singed! read more

Quiet, easy to access campground with incredible access to the beach. So much wildlife, the water is crystal clear, and the beach is a lot less populated than the northern beach. Do not expect sugar sand, but expect the best seashells you've found in a while and tons of nature--fish, turtles, birds, etc. read more

Super noisy due to kids booming music in adjacent public parking at the beach next door ALL hours ...day or night. DRAG RACING AT NIGHT ON THE ROAD that goes by the park and in the lot. Very dangerous and LOUD!!! If we can find another place to go.... .we're outta here. Earplugs don't help...the earth here vibrates from the noise. The police know all about it but can't seem to do anything. read more

I almost hate to review this campground, telling people one of my favorite campgrounds in Florida. One is National owned, another is Florida State owned, and this is owned by the Saratoga County. This campground is so small one might easily drive past it for it is long and narrow. The beach is only 300-400 ft at the end of the campground. Also offers both tent and RV camping ,free Wifi, picnic area, laundry room and wonderful hot showers. The only downside is that no pets are allowed nor are open campfires, so leave the marshmallows at home. This is not a party campground, so one can get a good night of sleep. Two restaurants are just across the road with delicious Happy Hour items. read more

I'm not a huge camper, and my family and I were probably the only ones in a tent... However this is the most beautiful campsite I've ever seen. It's Nestled in between mega mansions, and the beach access is ideal. It's very small and intimate but the bathrooms were kept clean. The wifi worked really well. read more

I love this hidden gem on the beach. The sites are a bit tight but there is always a friendly camper somewhere that is happy to help you back in. My husband does not have as much free time as I do, so I usually set up camp for the weekend retreat. My only complaint is that you are not allowed to bring your dog. He is so sad when I start prepping the rv without him in it. read more

What a nice and quiet campground. We are glad that we made an early reservation. This campground is small but cosy. Next to Turtle Beach and the warm Gulf. Very friendly people, as wel as the host as the people on it. We stayed here for only one night. It's a plus to be here. The bathrooms are quite clean. Note that the bathroom doors are a bit low. Perhaps a shower curtain could arrange more privacy. read more

This little hide away is awesome! It is very small...only 49 sites but it sits right on the beach! The water was just perfect. There wasn't much of a crowd and the sites were very shaded. You have to book at least 1 year in advance but it is totally worth the wait. The staff is also friendly and helpful. They have a little store that you can get ice on the property which makes it convenient. We plan to come again next year. read more

We just returned from our first major rv trip. We are new to camping and stayed at a few very nice places for extended weekends. This campground had the fewest amenities , (clean showers, laundry). But it had the best beach access, friendly people and helpful staff we could have asked for. The county park is a 2 minute walk for kayaking, town is just a bike ride away. Nights were quiet and sunset a campground group affair. This campground experience was one to remember. We will come back often. read more
