Turtle Bay Beach was a nice beach to visit and relax after being in Waikiki. It wasnt too crowded and parking was easy to find. The walk to the beach was just a few mins and the water was perfect for a December afternoon. I would definitely come back and spend a little more time relaxing and probably take a walk to check out the resort as well. read more

I was a bit disappointed by this beach and it's not just because I didn't get to see any turtles. It is right along a hotel and feels very boring and un-unique. There was a wedding reception going on and it was soo loud! Plus, the hotel was blocking the sunset, which is such a waste! I did find it nicer once you go towards the rocks where the waves were rougher. It was a nicer view, not just all building and people. read more

There is a walkway access to the beach. The beach is at the resort, but everyone can also enjoy the beach. We didn't see any turtle here but maybe it is not a season. Sunset at turtle bay was beautiful and I'm glad I went to visit Turtle Bay even I didn't stay at north shore. read more

As we drove around the island of Oahu, we stopped by Turtle Bay Beach to soak up some Hawaiian waters for the day. The beach is situated by the Ritz Carlton and the parking situation can be a little complicated. There's no clear sign which are for the guests and which are for public but we managed. The sands are gorgeous, as it finds its way in between your toes. The backdrop (Ritz) is just as beautiful as the natural surroundings. The waves are calm as the break water helped easing the North Shore waves. We enjoyed the beach of about an hour or so. Unfortunately, we did not see any turtles when we were here but alas, Turtle Bay Beach gave us some good memories. read more

I like the beach, it's nice. I found a snail by the grass. There's a lot of crabs around the rocks, but they camouflage very well so you need to look (there's a lot on the wall near the horse back riding next to the resort) the crabs are hard to take pictures of as they go into the cracks of the rocks whenever there's a wave approaching. I saw someone fishing. The place is good to take walks around but some areas are rocky and easy to trip so be careful. read more

We drove from Waikiki along the island and decided to check out this beach which was a little confusing to get to. We found parking but there weren't signs on how to get to the beach. Following google maps, this beach is actually by the Ritz hotel. I think on the route we went there was a sign that says for hotel visitors only but I think it should be public accessible. We walked down the paved path by the hotel and took some pictures, surprising to see how crazy the waves are in the north shore. No turtles were in sight, despite its name. Not sure I would recommend going out of the way for this beach in particular. read more

It's always fun going here because the water has a good mixture of calmness and small waves. It's a great beach for kids to practice snorkeling and playing on wavy waters. The area is very clean and it has a lot of free parking spaces which is convenient. I highly recommend this place for families with small children as well. read more

This beach is beautiful, parking is free there is restaurants & bars on the beach. The beach chairs and umbrellas can't be used unless you rent them or are a hotel guest. Get there early as this beach fills up quickly with limited space on the beach for you to put your chairs or blankets. I would recommend not going on the weekend. read more

If you're here to swim close to shore and have really young children, it's nice bc it is protected cove, it's close to a hotel, bathrooms, and facilities. But the moment you go past waist deep, be wary of spiny sea urchins. They have snorkels and masks to rent, but after snorkeling it myself with my 7yr old, there was not much to see there. You're better off at Hanauma bay if you're trying to see colorful fish. Beach was nice, but north of the cove and break water, water was rough. read more

I love this beach. It is a good 1 hour drive from Waikiki/Honolulu but all so worth it to find a beach that's sort of secluded. The waves on this side of the island are much stronger. There were other beaches along the way on this shade of the island that is perfect for surfers. read more

We had stayed at an AirBnb on the property so we arrive each evening around 4pm after a day of site seeing. Public parking available to the right of the lobby check in. There is a rental booth if you'd like to rent boogey boards and a bar for food and drinks. It wasn't over crowded each time we went and the kids my daughters befriended were always very nice. People on the beach were friendly. It was also awesome to sit on watch the sun go down while we were in the water. We didn't get to see any turtles this time around but we still had a great time. read more

The roommate and I were watching our friends' kids when we decided to take them to the beach at our resort. We stopped by on Suday, March 3rd, probably around 4pm. We didn't stay long, but the beach is beautiful. (We actually had a view of it from our hotel room.) The kids had fun playing in the water. It's kind of its own cove, so protected from all the waves, etc. It was safe for the kids to swim and play in the water. We didn't stay long, but I heard snorkeling here is really pretty. We have been coming here since I was around five years old. Before the hotel was built. When the surf is down during the summer it is an amazing place to go diving here. Lots of marine life and you'll definitely see a turtle or two. When the hotel was being built it was a big concern was about beach access for the local people. But I'm happy to say that both locals and tourists alike can enjoy this wonderful spot. I think it's even better now. because they have really nice amenities. You can rent snorkel and fins or an umbrella for shade and get great food at the pool bar. Parking is nearby but I would suggest coming early in the morning because that lot gets full very quickly. This beach is great for little kids because of the calm inshore waters. So if you find yourself on the North Shore this would be a great little spot to stop by and get a little dip. read more

to be honest We didn't go up to turtle bay before the pandemic at all.... the traffic and the beach being small/super crowded was a total turn off. Given the pandemic we have been able to explore those previously crowded spots. The snorkeling was superb, the beach was easy to get to and we truly enjoy it while we can. read more

This beach is a great place to go swimming. The water is always calm and safe to swim in - I've noticed a lot of neighboring beaches have stronger currents and aren't as easy to swim in if you're not particularly experienced in swimming in the ocean. Even during the off season, the beach can get very busy due to its notoriety. It's also a great place for snorkeling and getting a bite to eat; Roy's is only 20 feet away for great food and drink! There is also a little shop to buy sunscreen, water/soda, and rent the umbrella areas. Absolutely beautiful, you should give this place a try if you ever come by the North Shore! read more

If you're driving up north shore make sure you hit up Turtle Bay Beach. The view from the beach is great. You can snorkel, or walk along the rocks and look at wildlife caught in the tide pools. Plenty of crabs and tiny fishies to see. Seats and beach umbrellas are provided. Also there's a restaurant/bar if you want to get grub or have a couple of drinks. I had the guava marg and hubby had the passion fruit marg, highly recommend the later. The bar closes in the afternoon and opens back up at 4:30 so we had to wait.. also make sure you have extra clothes cause you can't wear just swimsuits at the restaurant. read more

Beautiful beach in North Shore. I set up on the beach in front of the Turtle Bay restaurant. The sign said the beach was for hotel members only but another sign further back said that public beach access was up ahead. I was not able to find it. I heard that all beaches are open to the public. I think you are fine as long as you don't use one of their chairs or umbrellas. The beach itself was fine. Pretty coral had washed up and was fun to look at. The water itself was very rocky and hard to walk into. Myself and others were struggling to get into the water without stepping on rocks or maybe it was actually coral. read more

No where to change into a bathing suit. Only skanky bathrooms with filthy floors that don't lock. If you plan on changing, don't come. But if you are coming to look at the beach it's pretty nice here! The parking is a little confusing. The parking signage for beach visitors who are not hotel guests is very poor. Nice beach. Good for snorkeling. Lots of marine life. A decent number of shade with the bamboo huts and some trees. The hotel was closed, so no easy access to bathrooms. Also no rentals and restaurants, as of May 2021. Those will probably come back soon! read more

I really loved Turtle Bay's beach. We could see this beach from our room window and it was the highlight of the honey's trip to see the surf boarding doggo. It's right downstairs out of the lobby and had its own towel and surf station. It would be a five for me but their water rinse station is on the sand. It makes it impossible to get the sand totally off your feeties. I and the honey ended up walking around with soppy flip flops several times, which was not so fun. All in all, we loved our stay at Turtle Bay, and enjoyed that this beach was so close! read more

This beach is less crowded than Waikiki , but nothing special, compared to many other beaches on the north shore. There are no big waves but the current is very strong. Not much to see snorkeling, either . Another positive is that there is free parking and bus access . read more
