Took 5 manual hedge trimmers/loppers to be sharpened ($5 per) earlier this week and they called yesterday to let me know they were ready. Went today and as usual, numerous Ace employees were an available to help. One immediately located my trimmers and started carrying them for me to the front. Figured he was making sure I paid (which I had offered where he found them). Main cashier line was long so he took to another part of the store to an open cashier. Then he carried them and put them in the car. That's Ace and that's why we go there. read more

So there are some serious pros and cons about Turner Ace. So I have really mixed feelings about it. Pros: The customer service and knowledge of products is bar none. I am an amateur do it yourself-er and their staff have walked me through projects every step of the way. They pretty much walk around shopping with me to make sure I have what I need. You will not find that anywhere else. They also have a lot of great locally sourced products which isn't typical of your normal hardware store. Cons: There is really only one. The prices are steep. You'll pay about 50% more than other places. So if you're looking to buy quite a few things you're going to pay for it. read more

This is a hardware store on steroids! It has the finest selection of grills and outdoor furniture. One wing has an entire huge greenhouse. Yep, you can find anything here. The employees are friendly and helpful. This store is bigger than a super grocery store or super target. Seriously! I need to get some of their beautiful pots before I leave town. I have been going to Ace for home and not projects for years. They have a fantastic selection of fasteners and tools but the most important aspect is the ease of finding things and the knowledge of the staff. I never go to big box stores unless I can't find it at Ace! The discount cards in the mail are also a great opportunity to save. read more

I just love an old school hardware store, I mean who doesn't, right? So cool just browsing the aisles up and down to find random stuff you never see anywhere else. This is a good sized store at the beach, close to the house, good sized private parking lot so getting in/out is a breeze. There's also a super cool section adjacent to the hardware store that's geared towards anything beach theme'd for your house or condo. Patio furniture, wind chimes, decorative flags, furniture, accessories, decorations and more, more, more. Unique items you just won't find in those chain stores around town. Likes- * Large inventory of Big Green Eggs and accessories * Large selection of Yeti cups and coolers * Everything you need for your home improvement projects from paint, electrical, tools, fasteners, plumbing, hardware, screen repairs, outdoor garden, propane refill and more. My husband and I stumbled into this Ace back in January when we were looking for a new built in grill. Bob and David ( who are super knowledgeable) introduced us to the Alfresco line. We purchased the grill and accessories. They grill arrived but we were not ready to have it installed due do construction delays. David worked with us in storing our new purchases -which turned out to be months. This was greatly appreciated. We bought several pieces of patio furniture with the assistance of David-who is always incredibly helpful. Delivery of all these items was timely and done with a high level of professionalism. A few pieces of the furniture arrived with some surface chips and David and his team took care of this immediately. I highly recommend this Ace. It is truly the best! read more

What a cool store. This place has some awesome patio furniture and indoor beauty furniture. This is a great place to come for inspiration if you are decorating a house but don't know in what direction to go. I know, you think I'm crazy looking for design inspiration but you'd be surprised. They also have rugs, hardware, outdoor plants and the normal things you would expect. You probably can get anything here, we love it, and keep coming back. I'm not normally a huge fan of Ace Hardware stores due to them having slightly higher prices than the competition. This location makes up the difference with their customer service. The general manager, Glen, has been at the store for years and treats everyone like a personal friend. His attitude has rubbed off on his employees as they are friendly and helpful as well. For you folks that are into grilling out and and enjoying the outdoors, you need to check this place out. They have a huge selection of high quality grills on display. They are very knowledgeable in the area and can answer all of your questions. They also handle delivery and set up of the larger grills and outdoor kitchens. They also carry all of your accessories from grill lights to wood chips. Are there any landscapers out there? Ace carries a full selection of residential and commercial grade Stihl power equipment. They carry the large containers of 2 cycle oil, inexpensive edger blades, and large spools of trimmer line that professional landscapers are always needing. If you need your mower blades sharpened, this is the place. $5 per blade! This is the cheapest that I have found. The place i used before was charging $10 a blade. This store even carries a small selection of fishing supplies. They have rod and reel combos to locally manufactured jigs. This is a plus since this a beaches store. Most of the Ace Hardware locations have nice garden centers and excellent florists. They offer delivery service for their flower arrangements as well. read more

I am a member at Turner Hardware which gives me discounts and promotions. So, today I went in to use a promo $10.00 off of $50.00 or more. I purchased the required minimum and because I'm a member got $2.00 off one item automatically. But, when I tried to use my $10.00 off coupon I was told I couldn't because my purchase included sale items. So, my $10.00 off, which I received by mail because I am a member, was not accepted because of a $2.00 discount I received automatically because I am a member. The treatment I received was demeaning and condescending. They lost a long time customer over $8.00 and their attitude. Take my advice and go to Home Depot. read more

Special ordered a grill for Valentine's day. Was told would be available to pick up today, however no call. I called to follow-up and spoke with the manager who indicated that we were misinformed on the pickup date...which was very clear when ordered. I was then told that grill assembly is not a job priority and if other things are needed that employee would leave to do the other duties. I asked at this point to pick up the grill and I will assemble it myself. I was placed on hold again and then told, No, unfortunately it has been started. Tomorrow is the best they can offer. I at that point told them to box it back up and I WILL DO IT MYSELF! Never will I ever support this business again! Home Depot is too close by! read more

I have been to this store many time in the past. When you need this or that it's normally here. They have a huge store with many thing that a normal hardware store has. They have a flower shop a gift shop and they have more then just Ace the Helpful Hardware Man stuff too. They also keep this store really clean and free of debris. They also if you are a longtime beach resident then you know the Turner Ace name. From the beaches on 3rd street for many many years. I also went to school with Steve Turner and he won the Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament a couple of times. The fish are still on the walls. read more

I would like to recognize great customer service. I purchased a Big Green Egg some time ago and frankly could not remember when I purchased. While entertaining with friends and cooking some prime strip steaks, the lid came loose from the strap and fell to the ground. This was embarrassing to say the least as any Big Green Egg owner knows, we love to show off the Egg's performance. Well, met with the owners son GM and discussed the matter. The next day he had someone from his store out to take care of the matter and gave me a new chimney top sines the other one was damaged from the fall. After purchasing 3 EXPENSIVE (esp. Compared to Home Depot and Lowes) plants that died (I'm a green thumb and even I couldn't save these) I contacted Ace to see if I could exchange, with a receipt, said dead plants. I was told they don't guarantee their plants. What the what??? So you charge a premium comparatively AND you dont have a guarantee like the bigbox stores??? Sorry Ace, wont be buying from you anymore. And I'll make sure my friends in the neighbourhood who do a lot of gardening dont either. Buyer beware!! read more

I attempted to return a defective wind chime and didn't have my receipt. One woman was nice, the other two were down right accusatory. "You're returning it because it's defective? Didn't you notice it was defective when you purchased it?" Well, that's pretty much when you return things right???????? "If you don't have a receipt and we don't have the skew # we can't return it." Well how do they keep their inventory. God forbid I took the tag off the bottom before I noticed the top was split and the strings were hanging out. We tried tracing it with my Credit Card, which showed 3 other wind chimes I'd purchased, but this one I purchased a few days later and I must have paid cash. Do you think they would give me the benefit of the doubt? NO! This is a high end store which caters to wealthy customers (not me), and the prices are exorbitant. I bought $170 worth of other wind chimes, but they couldn't/wouldn't accommodate me. I'm taking all the wind chimes back and never shopping their again. AND, not once did any of these 4 women smile at me. The first thing I heard with a frowning face Was "you can't return it without a receipt." In this day and age of cards, I seldom keep hard copy receipts. The attitude of all these women (except the one) was rude and unfriendly. read more
