Today I needed a grill brush. This Ace Hardware is around the corner from my house. It is so convenient. This place has never let me down. Every time I need something, they have it! I've had them cut glass for me to fit furniture; had keys made; ordered flowers-you name it. Yes, they are a florist, too! The best part about this Ace is the customer service. Someone always greets me when I walk in the door, and someone always immediately asks me how they can help. I was in & out today in about 2 minutes. BAM!! THE best little hardware store in Arlington. WOW I have never been treated so Bad !!! We ordered a Large wreath for the front entrance of where we were having a Funeral service. We never received it until the next day and it was just AWFUL !!! We were so embarrassed we didn't even put out. I called the Store mgr. and explained how the wreath was wrong and the ribbon we ordered for the wreath didn't say the right thing and it was delivered to the wrong place. The manager assured me the Owner would take care of it . I just had to call again after 6 times calling and the owner Susan Turner answered and yelled at me and told me it was not their fault that I'm trying to get over on her and she screamed at me cussed at me then slammed the phone down. The associate, Glen, yelled at me over the phone. Yelled at my sister and caused her to cry. He told me "we have thousands of boxes back there and I don't have time to go through them all". I had purchased a heater online for my sister. I live in California, she lives in Florida. Over 10 days later, they couldn't find her heater! This guy, Glen claimed they must have sold it to someone else since they didnt have paperwork on it. BS! After I called the 800 number and explained the situation to a very helpful young lady, Tamera....lo and behold, they miraculously found said heater! My sister made another trip to that store, where everyone was standing around doing nothing...and picked up her heater. Never again will Ace Hardware get a dime of my hard earned money. read more

Not as friendly or helpful as "Proctor ACE Hardware" which is 3.1 miles down the street, so Proctor is worth the 6 minute drive. Proctor ACE hardware also has military discount and more employees. Just much more helpful and friendly in my opinion. read more

PROPANE FILLS BEWARE. On the phone they said they would refill our propane tank and pay for what we got. (We had a half tank) We got it filled then got to the counter and made us pay full price. "We only charge one price no partials." Horrible customer service. Maybe you shouldn't tell people on the phone you charge per amount then charge us full price for a half fill. We will not be returning. Completely dishonest to get us in the door. read more

Ace, the helpful place! I think that's their slogan... anyhow... The staff has always been quick to ask if I need help finding anything here, the store has been clean, so no complaints there. They have a pretty decent plant section in the back, worth checking out. Other than that, prices on tools and whatnot are average/slightly higher than average. I place an online order for two items at the Jacksonville Beaches location. The store took it upon themselves to split my order into two separate orders without telling me. I was notified by email that my order was ready for I was u unaware that the original order was split into two orders so when I arrived to pick up my order I was told that only one item was ready. Ok, I'm annoyed and asked for the order to be canceled and for the store to issue a refund to my credit card. I was told that the refund would be processed and I left the store time wasted and empty handed. A few minutes later an email arrived showing a refund for only one item and I'm still waiting for the refund for the second item. I've wasted time, travel and been unnecessarily jerked around by incompetent people that have demonstrated no consideration for a customer. Please, do yourself a favor and go to Home Depot. It's really close to this location and they don't pretend to be customer service oriented and the prices are lower and the selection is bigger. read more

Was looking to rent a pressure washer for the exterior of my home. The lady on the register called a man with more experience renting The pressure washer to the front to assist me. I explained to him that I had never used a pressure washer before and that this is my first home project. His response was "then you have no business doing it". This store can be quite convenient from time to time, and I actually didn't mind shopping here until today when my wife tried to return (with a receipt) a couple of items that totaled $8. Though they were purchased at a different ACE Hardware location, and we were not aware of their "buy here, return here" policy, the gentleman behind the counter could have been much nicer to my wife and didn't have to embarrass her and be such a jerk in front of a store full of customers. It got me thinking... I don't think I've ever been shown good customer service since I've started shopping here after all. I'll just drive to The Home Depot from now on. Far better selection and no cocky attitudes. read more

Turner Ace (Arlington) has unfair and misrepresented return policy as it relates to hurricane merchandise. I recently bought a home generator. The sales associate said I needed a specific cable with the generator, so I purchased it for $130. Turns out I didn't need to cable at all. I returned the cable within the prescribed time according to Ace return policy and they wouldn't take the return. I spent $924 on that one visit, and have spent countless times shopping in the Ponte Vedra store. If this is the way they choose to do business, they'll have to manage with one less customer. There is plenty of competition that manages their customers' returns better, and prices are lower. read more
