I purchased a Toro lawnmower from here, it got delivered to my house. I put gas in it and cut a portion of my front yard and it was absolutely the worst cutting lawnmower I have ever owned and I own a landscaping business that I've had for over 24 years. This was a personal lawnmower for just my yard. The bag would not even stay on it so I immediately stopped cutting because it was shredding. My fairly new installed St. Augustine grass. I took it up to the store for a refund because it was the worst cutting lawnmower I have ever tried, and because I put gas in it, they would not refund it. How in the world are you supposed to know if it cuts good or if it's a good lawnmower if you don't freaking put gas in it, they didn't tell me that when they dropped it off, but I will tell you one thing I will never ever, ever purchase another thing from Ace Hardware for the rest of my life and that's a promise. I would highly recommend you not purchase a lawnmower from this company. They do not stand behind their product. What a shame Ace Hardware on Landing Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida. I may only be one customer, but you just lost thousands of dollars from a landscaping business that has done business with you for years. This is a great store for all of your gardening needs and then some. Family owned and has been around for ages. This place came highly recommended by at least a dozen long-time customers and the customer service was excellent. I specifically came here for horticulture grade perlite and vermiculite in 4 cu. ft. bags for my plants, cuttings and seedlings. The prices were comparable to the big box stores I frequent plus this place is still family-owned. There's so much inventory and many departments so you will definitely find what you need here if it relates to the yard and garden. Just check out my pics. Overall, the inventory is better than I expected and I had at least six employees actually help me find the gardening supplies I needed, answer questions AND load my purchases into my car. Excellent customer service here and it's interesting to see some boutique gardening brands not found in most nurseries and garden stores. read more

Hall's has regularly delivered for our family on knowledgeable staff who are friendly and able to help. On our last visit, we selected some plants to put on our deck, and had so many beautiful ones to choose from. The selections are vast, and they are well taken care of and laid out in such a way to make it possible to find the right type of plant for your needs. We selected several varieties of sun hardy plants that have held up great since planting. We also were in need of a few things from hardware, and staff didn't lose patience with the 4 times we had a question. The gift selection is also very nice, and ranges from candles and jams to home decor. Much more than you'd expect from such a store! read more

She was dismissive of me as well. When there is so much competition, these actions of hers shock me. I want to be a loyal customer but her behavior tell me that she isn't taking care of her associates or her customers which makes me want to take my business elsewhere. read more

This is my favorite place to shop. All my flowers, trees, bushes from here thrive. They are always so helpful and have an excellent selection of everything- from plants to bird feeders. It is the best place to shop in Jacksonville. I am there at least once a week and feel the same way every time. read more

Great place if you need to grab some things in a pinch or don't mind spending a few extra bucks. I left Wally world the other day and forgot to grab a bottle of Flex Seal. Hall's Nurseries is down the street from my house and I did not feel like dealing with a big box store. As soon as I walked in I was approached by an associate and he walked me to where I needed to go. I asked if they had a hose to extend the spray and he walked me to another section, but it was a no-go. Not to the fault of the employee. They have basically the same thing you would find at a HD or Lowes just a bit more expensive, however I am willing to spend a few more bucks for superior customer service. read more

Wow, plant lover paradise. Amazing selection. They had plants that have been on my wish list for months that I couldn't find anywhere else. Only 4 stars because of the price. Also there's no AC, at least in the indoor plan section. They do sell local honey but the cheapest option was over $20. I met Tammy she was very educated when it came to the type of plants you need for certain rooms. I told her I needed a couple of plants for my bathroom, not only did she give me a few options but explained the card of every plants I picked. I always prefer to support Ace before the bigger Hardware stores. But I am extremely disappointed that half of the employees do not wear masks. I only want to do business with businesses that care about protecting their employees and customers from this virus. It's easy if we all wear a mask. What is it with people playing Russian Roulette, not only with their lives, but the lives of people they come in contact with. Disappointed. I hope they change procedure because I'd much rather do business there than the big box stores. read more

The search for houseplants and patio gardening equipment brought me to ACE. Ive done Lowe's and Home Depot, but have usually associated ACE with more personal experience. The trip from downtown to blanding blvd did not disappoint. Excellent nursery with options ranging from herbs, houseplants, serious landscaping fruit plants, citrus-pear-pomegranate tress and bush's galore. The staff were efficient and helpful. I would have considered 5 stars except they have no scanners at the check out counter, the prices verge on boutique costs and my fried tells me that when you ask for help in hardware it comes with a side of male sass. read more

The knowledgeable staff practically knows what I need before I know I need it. Friendly, excellent staff in each dept. Might be priced a little higher than the big box stores but it is WORTH the extra cost to have someone give you helpful and KNOWLEDGEABLE information about where to plant, how to fix, best fertilizer to use. We bought some grape vines a few months ago and found out that we needed a male and female plant for the variety we chose. Needed a brass fitting that I could NOT find at Lowes or Home Depot. Really nice place to find just about anything you are looking for. I actually found Zoysia Grass which was economically priced. Bought a bunch of it and planted all of it in my my back yard. It will look like a golf course by the time summer is over, and with low maintenance too! I like to support local mom and pop stores and this place is just like that. read more

Normally everyone is cheerful and helpful, but this past sunday was different. the cashier was sullen and all she could say was debit or credit. never said hi or thank you and not once smiled. I have been looking all around Jacksonville for Don Juan red roses, and guess what? This place had them today... It's funny because my husband and I was driving to another destination and spotted this place then made a u turn. As we look around we were approached by this awesome knowledgeable young men, he provided me with all the information that I need it to get my rose planted. With all the gardening/outdoor accessories this place had to offer we couldn't help ourselves to buy a few more stuff. I will definitely return to this place for future gardening needs, oh yes lastly at checkout another staff member volunteer to help us to the car he carry the heavy bag of potting soil to the trunk for us.
