I recently had to buy an entire work wardrobe on short notice (all my stuff was in storage in another city) and Turn Style was a godsend. The prices were very reasonable. I stocked up on pencil skirts, professional blouses, and sweaters. They also have a large collection of work-appropriate shoes and bags/purses. I picked up a Coach bag at their Ford Parkway location (which is also great). Brands that I shopped included J. Crew, Banana Republic, Worthington, Express, Gap, Patagonia, etc. Clothes are arranged by size (petites are separated out) and within size they are arranged by color. I consigned several of my boyfriend's too-big shirts here, which was a painless process that netted me some nice spending money for my own new outfits. They only take pretty recent stuff in wrinkle-free condition, which can be a bummer for consigning, but I am very appreciative of as a shopper. read more

In terms of nice setup and clothes, this store does pretty well. However, I would not consign here. I brought some nice jackets in and they said if I washed them, they would take them. Fine, makes sense. I wash, iron, and generally spruce them up so they look nice and they don't take them. It was a different employee when I went the second time, so I get that there's going to be a difference in opinion, but the employee beforehand said they would "definitely" take them once they're washed. I politely pointed this out to the other employee and she said they don't take Target brand things. That's inconsistent with what they have on the floor because I've seen multiple Target brand items on the shelves. So they are inconsistent with what they're telling customers and what they're putting on the shelves. They are generally too picky with what they take. read more

Today I bought a rug at turn style consignment. The Rug said it was 5 x 7 on the blue tag that they attached to the rug. When I got home and unroll the rug it was actually 5 x 5 square. I am mediately called and they told me I could return it. I drove back to the store and the assistant manager told me that I would only be allowed to get store credit. I asked why and she said that they never give refunds they only ever give store credit. I said that it wasn't my fault and it was actually the fault of the store and that I didn't agree with the policy. When I asked for the managers contact information she got snotty with me and told me that she was the assistant manager and she was trained by the manager and she knew the manager would say no. She went on to say that the refund policy is plainly printed at the bottom of the receipt. I made the observation that I would not know the refund policy until after I had already paid and by then, according to them it was already too late. I am livid right now and I will never shop there again. I also plan on filing a formal complaint. read more

I love this store! Every employee is super friendly and helpful, even the customers who shop here are too. I haven't used the dressing rooms so I can't attest to that, but there are plenty of mirrors throughout the store for you to check the fit of outerwear and shoes. I'm in my early 20s and was happy to find styles that I enjoy (they are in the minority as this store suits everyone, but perhaps that is a good thing for my wallet). I can also consign my old styles for someone else to enjoy. The staff is selective but they are super reasonable and polite. They aren't as unpredictable and close-lipped as buyers at Buffalo Exchange. For these reasons, I look forward to buying and selling here for years to come! read more

Always find good stuff at this location. Bad dressing rooms and lighting. Lucky multiple times with purses. Friendly staff!

Brought in 4 clothing items. Directed to return 2.5 hours later. Disinterested, borderline rude employee. Some basic customer service training would be helpful, as well as adequate staffing. Will not be back. read more

I will NEVER go here again. About a month ago i went in with TONS of brand new jeans, tags still on them, bought recently. I gained some weight so they no longer fit. However, they were Mossimo. Turn-style wouldn't accept them because they were not NAME brand. me and my boyfriend were browsing the racks and found lots of hollister jeans.. that were stained or frayed at the bottom. makes sense. ripped and stained jeans are better then new ones, we all know that, right? Yesterday, i brought in a knit vest with a faux-fur collar, i bought it for $50 at Old Navy over Christmas and wore it once. they wouldn't accept it because "its from 2011". I also brought in an extremely expensive prom dress that I've outgrown, now i know i wouldn't have received a lot for it, but i just wanted it gone. i went in around 6:30 and they took my dress, shut down consignment, and continued to proceed to start cleaning the store for the night! NO ONE came and told me if they were taking it, or how much they'd be selling it for. When i confronted the woman, she said, you'll find out in a week, if you don't like it, go out on the sales floor and take it back, if its still there. i was extremely taken aback! I wasn't going to let them sell this gown for something little! id rather sell it myself. I asked for my dress back and the sales woman became extremely huffy, she tossed me my dress. i asked for a hanger, she pointed to a random hanger on a rack that was in pieces. i asked for my dress bag, she replied with "i threw your dress bag away. maybe you get one upfront. i wouldn't count on it" and walked away! Long story short, employees are VERY rude and don't acknowledge you for the first twenty minutes. they are not educated and they must be crazy to think id leave an expensive dress there just to see what happens. Bull.Crap. Avoid this place. Go to Plato's Closet just down the road. read more

I'm a long time consignee, the new manager is very rude and unhelpful. You would think a business who's bread and butter is their clients items would be more considerate and cooperative. Sad, I love this store and their clothes. read more

This place has a nice selection of clothes for work and play. The prices are fair too. The only downside is if u return a item you are unable to get a refund. They will only provide store credit. So make sure the item fits/looks good before you purchase your items. read more

I am in love with Turn Style! Used to use the St. Paul location and switched to Roseville because I moved. It also has the convenience of the home store attached. They are great to work with when consigning and awesome for finding gently used deals. I am a regular customer and would highly recommend checking it out! read more

Be very aware if you bring things to this establishment and they "disappear" you are have no recourse. I brought in a set of white chargers(very large and heavy) that somehow went missing. The manager did say she would look for them when she had time and get back to me. She never did get back to me but when I called her she said she was unable to find them or find a record of them ever being sold so they must've been stolen. read more

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. So disappointing. Got there at 6:04 to consign a butt load of quality, designer clothing. They close at 7, and their sign said "consignment open." However, they said they stop consigning an hour before closing. Since when? Guess you don't need my business. read more

I went to the Rosedale location looking for long sleeved tops. The racks were either too high or too low to look through comfortably. When browsing the high ones my neck and arm hurt from reaching up and when browsing the low ones I had to get down on my knees. Not a good shopping experience! read more

I tried to sell a few dresses to them and the lady that worked there was so rude, barely acknowledged me, and took the dresses without giving me points on my account or any cash for them. I told her I wanted them back then and she refused to give them back and still did not give me anything for them. Her associate that was there just stood there, didn't help anyone in line before or after me. They were both rude and had attitude with the customers. Will not be going back. read more

Nice people, great stuff. Just bought a really nice dresser for my soon to be grand daughter this week. I know that every time I go there I'm walking out with something. read more

Love this store you never know what you will find but its always something great. Also they will buy your clothes and furniture that you don't want anymore read more

First of all most of the goods seem overpriced and realizing that between 50 -55 percent goes back to the store i have to wonder. i went to the home store to consign something and while the store was busy. The clerk yells out my name and yells " i am not going to accept this because it is dated and has a stain. I don't see the "stain part" and the dated ok..... but yelling across the store my name and the result of the evaluation... NOT.... read more

Their website should have more information about items they take and don't take (very few specifics; I checked in advance of going there). Wasted my time bringing in some nice clean men's suits (they said they don't accept men's suits when I got there; seems like a key item they should indicate they don't accept); won't bring any other men's items in since they don't seem that interested in men's clothes and I don't want to guess at what they will take. Staff did not seem helpful. read more

I was so disappointed today when I went in with my infant daughter. I needed help bringing some boxes in of my consignment items because I was alone and had to also carry my daughter. I was refused help! I couldn't leave my daughter in the car, or in the store alone, so I had to make 4 trips back and forth from my car into the back of the store, trying to balance my items and my daughter! I couldn't believe they wouldn't help a customer! What would have happened if I was an elderly woman and had asked for help carrying in items? Would they have said no to her? I have no idea why they couldn't have helped me! The woman that I asked personally said no, while the woman next to her, didn't say anything or help me either. I'm appalled!!! The woman helping me at the consignment desk in the back was SUPER nice, but from what happened to me, I just can't give a better review. So disappointed in humanity. BTW, I'd like to mention that every consignment place I've used otherwise (Once Upon a Child, Platos Closet, etc.) have always OFFERED to help me, and that was when I didn't even have a baby with!! read more

I've been consigning at this store for over 10 years. I loved consigning when Lynn was the manager. Lynn always made me feel welcome and interested in my clothing items, but the manager now is just terrible. I'm usually in a hurry, so I don't have makeup on or my hair done and it seems like the manager Diane zero's in on me. Once, she looked through my bag as if I stole something, and just today, she peered and walked down the isle a few times as I was browsing. Here's some food for thought... Just because someone's hair is undone or she's not wearing makeup doesn't mean she's a thief. read more

This is a wonderful consignment shop! I have used it since it opened. I have gotten some great deals on shoes, t-shirts, ceramic bowls, etc here. Also, I love how great they are with walk-ins for consigning on Mon-Fri. I have sold a lot of clothes, wall art, light fixtures, etc at this place and I highly suggest everyone looking to sell their quality items use turn style. Sure, you may not get your $ on the spot but that's the point! It's worth the wait to get $15 for a shirt versus $3 if you bring it to Plato's closet or Clothes Mentor, etc. I love calling in to check my balance and getting a nice surprise. I've made hundreds of dollars using this service. It's the only way to go as far as I'm concerned when it comes to wanting to get rid of items you no longer use. read more

Horrible experience. I have consigned at other Turnstyles but this location's employees do not know their brands! What a waste of time!

I have enjoyed making purchases at Turnstyle, until I tried to consign - what I experience, the help said "we don't take this or that" - which I from quite odd, as the same items is on the racks on their sale floor. Needless to say this experience completely soiled my ever walking into the stores again! read more

I've been shopping and consigning with Turn Style for a few years now and they are hands down the best consignment stores in the twin cities! I have found so many bargains here on high end clothing and have made a great amount of money recycling my clothes, shoes and furniture that I don't use. The staff is always friendly and attentive and if you read there consigning rules and understand how basic it is, consigning is always a breeze. Love Turn Style and I won't shop any other consignment stores because no other measures up to Turn Style!! read more

They are really picky about what they are getting, so as a seller...don't bother to go there, I went there with lots of my girls clothes, such as Gaps, Gymboree and Hartstrings (no stain and excellent conditions) .... and the employee didn't take any, they told me they want the new design that are in the store last year or at least within 2 yrs. Wth? I usually stock up stuff for my girl, won't even wear it till a yr or two later. Not going back again for sure! Their clothes are not that cheap either. read more

WARNING - expect your items to get DAMAGED. I've been bringing items to Turn Styles in Roseville since before Christmas and have had an OK experience . I was excited to entrust two art glass pieces to Turn Styles. I had provided background and discussed their value and care. I hoped they would find a good home. Sadly the most expensive piece (worth a couple of hundred) was damaged with a chip taken out of the bowl and cracked. I expect someone jammed it against a shelf looking at it. Now it's worthless. My heart was sick. I also picked up a pair of my shoes. They were patent leather and rubbed raw in several places. I know for sure because I take photos of everything I leave there. No wonder neither item sold. I understand I have no recourse in the matter, but I am deeply disappointed in Turn Styles and do not want another client to be surprised when items are damaged. So BE AWARE! p.s. I live in Minnesota not California. read more

I visited the home store today after calling first to see if they would take a children's item. The young woman assured me they take children's things. Off I went, packed the car with the item and barely got in the door when the worker rudely said "what's that?" I explained what it was and she just said "we don't take that". I explained that I just called and certainly would not have hauled it there if I was told no on the phone. She then bad mouthed the employee explaining she was new and probably misunderstood and thought I meant a children's dresser. This whole thing was so unnecessary if the staff was well informed, well trained, and more tactful. When I left to haul the item back to my car she gossiped about me to another customer. Then she denied doing that too. This whole organization needs updating as to their staff and policies and items consigned. Their voicemail says they are expanding and need things yet they treat customers like they are imposing on them. Just a bad place all around. read more

For the buyer this store is great. AND for the seller, before they expanded... I had a wonderful experience. But this past week I took items in to sell. Put them on the counter to wait for them to be inspected. There appears to be one girl who does the pricing. She took several of my items, put prices on them, and had them on display in the 10 minutes time I walked around the store. I was never asked if I agreed to her price, and was given a flippant answer, and a receipt with a "I kept a couple of your items, can't remember what they were." I have no idea what price she put on the items, and had it not been for the fact I kept a list of what I brought in, no idea what she kept. The store has lost a lot of it's customer friendly atmosphere as it has grown larger. So sad, as it has wonderful items. Perhaps some plain old kindness should be added to the new and improved site. They had it before...just lost it in the new hires. read more

I brought it a mini van full of home store items to consign. They took most items - including a vintage rocking chair in perfect condition and a glider with ottoman that looked nearly new. A couple weeks later, someone from the store left me a message to say that somehow one of the chairs (not specific as to which one) was broken, and please let them know if they could donate it. They had marked the item for over $200.00. It took me a couple of weeks to get a vehicle to retrieve the chair, and when I went back in, they claimed it had been donated - WITHOUT MY CONSENT. They offered no compensation and little apology. I am disgusted. The chair WAS NOT broken when I brought it in - or they would not have accepted it. They are very conscientious about taking only items in nice condition. I find it very suspicious that it somehow was found to be broken after being in their store a couple of weeks. I was very disappointed and asked to see a manager. The woman who was helping me claimed she was the manager. Overall, extremely poor customer service. Beware of TURNSTYLE Home! read more
