The cashier was nice. There are no bathrooms inside the store. There is a small dressing room. Prices were not Goodwill crazy.

I've got antique store in my blood (legitimately, not a turn of phrase: my paternal grandma used to own one), so I'm drawn to this kind of place, especially as thrifting/buying used is more environmentally-friendly (and we as a society desperately need to shift gears away from fast fashion). Immediately upon entry I glimpsed the signs that this place was inclusive of me and those like me. The pride flag, the genderless toilets marked humorously with "whatever" signs. I was drawn in. You can tell that a lot of the consignment owners put a good deal of effort into making each of their "cubicles" stand out and have individuality that matches their brand. Seeing as I was here at the tail end of September, that meant many of the booths were spooky-themed and/or had Halloween items for sale. Dangerous for anyone who's a fan of the holiday. I definitely plan to come back AFTER Halloween and see what Christmas decorations take their place! It'll probably feel like an entirely different experience dependent on the season! Anyway, the cool thing about a place like this (if you've never been to one) is that you don't have to worry about keeping track of which store you picked up what item from. They have tags on each item so the employee at the checkout counter can sort all that for you and collect a single amount from you to distribute appropriately among their consignment sellers. I noticed they have baskets you can grab to help you shop (also dangerous, lol) because this place is QUITE expansive and winding. Be sure to check around each nook and cranny to see it all! (But also keep in mind, stock will always be rotating, so there'll always be new things to see.) There's lots of clothes and apparel accessories, of course, but also lots of home decor items, media like books, CDs, VHS, records, etc., toys and more. Really you gotta go see it for yourself. You'll be wandering about in something akin to awe! I would say the prices are okay. This isn't a place you're going to find big bargains. But you won't get gouged either. It's a place to discover something from your childhood and reclaim it for a reasonable finder's fee, essentially. Long story short, I killed more than forty-five minutes here, well over what I needed, hahaha, and came out with a couple cute clown-themed things to add to my growing collection. Hooray! Also neat is that they have a coffee shop in the back that also serves things like pastries and sodas for a very reasonable price. This area is spacious with lots of seating; clearly it's meant as a place to gather and hangout with friends. They even had an NES set up on a TV to play if you wanted. Very queer-friendly. It probably deserves its own separate review.

I tried to park here during the Little Canada citywide garage sales - they have a huge parking lot and it was empty before they opened - I got a good stink eye from an employee walking in and someone else came out to tell us we had to move even before we left the car - aight, should have parked in back where you wouldn't have noticed.... Anyway, after we were done saleing - we did come back to dig through this place and I loved it. Prices are extremely low and there are plenty of good things to find! I bought some things just because of the price (do I really need two pictures of chickadees in heart shaped frames? Or a toy dragon? Or a puzzle? Or a mug with vegetables on it? Of course not!) I also found some really cute booties - I would love to go back and spend more time someday!

I highly recommend making a shopping date with friends and then hitting coffee afterwards. Bonus: Flying Pig is typically open until 6 pm and Ginkgo 8 pm!! Flying Pig Thrift is staffed primarily by volunteers and everyone is beyond kind. Community resources are available onsite via a bulletin board and the shop supports 3 main non-profit groups. Within the dressing area room, there was a flyer supporting mental health resources and I smiled when I saw it. There are a wide variety of items that shift seasonally and frequently. Items are fairly priced and there are often sales, half price item days and even a permanent sale section in the back. I was really excited to score a denim button up with funky colorful bird designs, a cute yellow bee kind sweatshirt along with a black Nike top. In addition to clothes, there are shoes, cards, jewelry, some handcrafted art, home decor, hospital scrubs, board games, records, magazines and more. Thank you Flying Pig Thrift! The best part is that a majority of the new items are all locally sourced and hand-crafted by local artists. I feel as if all items are reasonably priced even the hand-crafted section. WBL offers historic charm in general, but so does this shop. Located just a touch off the main drag, there are also a few other shops inside this building as well. The setup here is calming to me and offers a nice flow. From the handmade goodies to printed tee shirts and sweatshirts to jewelry to thrifted handbags to clothes to art supplies, there is something for everyone. Offering light art classes in the back of the space on a giant table, make sure to grab a flyer when you're in next or check the website. For just a small fee, you could be the new owner of a piece of art crafted by you. In addition, shopping here is a great place to get gifts whether that's for a baby shower, birthday or holiday. I love a good thrift shop and reducing waste, and they had a nice little selection of clothes, well organized and for decent prices. That fell to one side of the store, and the other had to local t-shirts and makers creations that are fun to find in town. The only cons are: 1)the entrance is very cluttered (a hoarders dream), and 2)the store can use some type of air deodorizer to help with the stale odor.

They always have a ton of furniture and clothes. Sometimes you can find salvaged goods that are new but I don't see that sort of stuff at the Fridley location as often.

There's always something to find here! There's a lot of vintage, secondhand clothing here - and nothing is boring. Think bold colors and patterns, quirky designs, and out-there materials. Statement pieces for sure! There are certainly some staples as far as accessories and footwear goes, too. But much of the accessories are quirky and unique: think doll hands for earrings kind of vibe! There's a decent amount of knick-knacks and giftables here as well, that are more local artisan made or new. The store can feel a bit overwhelming at first entrance, so take it by section and putz with an open mind. Prices were on par with higher-end vintage stores, but they do run some sales a few times each year. There is a dressing room with a curtain for trying things on!
