    Undisclosed damage

We have been longtime purchasers from Arch Antiques and obtained some great pieces from them. The past last purchase had not gone well for us as the items we purchased via photo verification, emails, and phone calls with Ian over the quality and condition of a pantry cabinet system. Ian claimed the piece had one small piece of wood chip from near the broom closet that was broken off. Chip was saved and the rest of the pantry cabinet was in excellent condition. Arch disassembled the piece prior to us showing up with a rented moving truck. Upon arrival we noticed numerous damaged areas and asked to speak with Ian as the quality is not what was pictured and described by Ian. Ian arrived 30 minutes later and was insulting to my wife and as if we have never purchased architectural salvage before. Ian claimed this was the best cabinet they have had in years and that the cabinet was as pictured when sold. When asked to look at the cabinet pictures on the website and compare to what we were seeing on-site, Ian declines. Ian then spoke with the owner and offered us another 25% off the cabinet. We then asked to speak to the Owner and did. The owner would not give us his name and was completely rude the entire time. He refused to look at the pictures and the unit. Arrogant and rude ownership will eventually ruin this company as the competitors provide better service. We left with no cabinet and a full refund after a good fight. Our moving truck would have been a waste of money, but we went to Stillwater and filled it up. We planned to buy $2,000 in lighting from Arch that day, but the way this transaction was handled and the owner's attitude kept us from funding them any further. Please take a look at the pics they had posted and what the actual condition of the piece was when arrived.

This place is bananas. Tons of old light fixtures, stained glass windows, doorknobs and hardware. If you're in the market for an enormous $30,000 complete set of stairs from the 1800s, this is your place. Much of their stock was WAY out of our price range, but it's certainly a lot of fun to walk through. Be warned, if you've got kiddos or clumsy friends, you may need to hold onto them pretty tight, there is an abundance of breakables around every corner.

I actually liked this place. Came here looking for barrel keys and they had tons. The guy at the register was very helpful.

What a trip! This shop is SO fun to walk around. Truly, on this one I'll let the photos do the talking. There's so much to uncover here, many of which are a bit too spooky for my home decor but a blast to walk through! I didn't get anything, but my favorite items were the butterfly displays and the bug displays that had them in little mini vignettes like reading a book, smoking a cigarette, etc. hahah they were so darling and clever. Prices are steep but probably reasonable considering the uniqueness of everything here. If you're looking for a holiday gift for that quirky pal, come here! And even if you're not...you're gonna want to see this place.

I could spend hours in here just looking and discovering things. This is really a place you need to see to believe. And take your time because there is something cool to see in every nook and crany. Need a stuff moose head? some old research beakers and such? A tiny puffer fish with googly eyes? A Jesus with a blond wig? Porcupine quills perhaps? A stuffed dancing goat wearing a tutu? Vintage photos? Assorted bones? Well, you can find it here. The staff is very friendly and more than happy to answer any questions you may have. They even know the exact origin of many of the items in the store.

I also bought two vintages designer lights and a couple pieces of glass labware to put cocktails in and put on the rolling cart to roll around the house (see above). I also bought a very cool looking gumball machine where you push down a little lever and a gumball comes out.** **I have put real gumballs and M&M peanuts in this thing and it has yet to spit out a gumball. It's pretty cool, though. OK, these guys have vintage cocktail glasses and shakers (do you see a problem here?) and more labware that I might buy. And a couple great vintage stands from a chemistry lab that has lots of clamps for test tubes. I'm trying to justify this one. My god!! They have two gigantic overhead light fixtures on rolling frames. If you live in one of those hoity-toity warehouses there is no excuse not to buy these. O, VINYL RECORDS YOU PEOPLE. SOUNDTRACK ALERT!! Endless Boogie was playing on their sound system. New favorite band. Ba-bump ba-bump ba-bump (Jaws) they are only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from about noon on.

If I could even call it 'work' more like 'an absolute joy' When I heard about your antiquification process and method, I must admit I was unsure...well, here we are, aren't we? So I had inherited an almost new bedside table from IKEA. I had the receipt and everything, the thing was about 3 months old. I didn't much care for it, to be honest and planned on giving it to Goodwill or auctioning it off. A Nepalese sherpa told me: "Hold that thought" while guiding me through his wonderful terrain. SO, upon returning to the US I called you guys up and 2 hours later I was witnessing a miracle. You made this IKEA table look 150 years old! I swear to Christ that it's a genuine antique now and I polish it 2-3 times per week, I use mayonnaise because I heard Celine Dion talk about how good it is to lather your antiques in mayo, she said this on the Oprah Winfrey show...and BY GOD, does it work. Something to do with the oil in the condiment. I plan on finding ALL MANNER of things around the house and having them antiquified...I've already bought TWO brand new things that I want to have antiquified to look EVEN older than the IKEA table. I wonder how far back you can go with this process! 5 out of 5 EASY, can NOT recommend enough Regards, - Sasha
