Very friendly & personable, thanks i enjoyed our brief chat & chuckles. This space packed a lot of merchandise so bring time w you to take it all in. Reminded me more of an antiques store than thrift but why cant it be both? There was a sign for the days tag color sale... as i mentioned blue is 50% off the associate said everything rlse was 25% off. Whoa, the store is on sale? Fantastic. Perusing around i had a good snicker at the several band-aid tins! Been so long ago, i forgot they cane in those! Stop in, this place is sure to have something you need and the things you forgot your nostalgia needed.

If you have any skeletons in your closets, leave those at home. The Art of Swedish Death Cleaning and Goodbye Things got me jumpstarted to donate, recycle and reuse for 2018. We live in a small house (yay, less cleaning) and I'm working on making a combination home office and guest sleeping space. Moving things on and not having excesses is a great way to accomplish that goal. I like how simple dropping things off at this Goodwill is. The young man who accepted our donations was helpful, fast and courteous. In the vehicle were an odd mix of furniture, household goods, stuffed animals and knick-knacks and now all of them are on their way to make someone else's day. Less really is more.

Called twice to give heads up that i had a 17' U-Haul with lots of furniture. I yelled twice from the truck (on opposite side of where they were standing in the bay) to confirm if i was parked ok. they never reply until 4th attempt with "i don't care". Got out of the truck and they proceeded to say that "we cannot help unload". what??? My point to them was it sure would've been nice to let me know when i called twice before. One said "i would've told you". pfffft....does lots of good now. i retort, "your staff didn't tell me". obviously the management is responsible for staff performance/training. all they are concerned about was that i not talk so loudly. mind you i was not yelling or berating but upset yes. that i had a 17' foot U-Haul stuffed to the gills with furniture weighting between 20 lbs and 250 lbs. So yes i did it but that is not the point. they should've let me know. they kept saying "it is b/c of covid". i pushed them on this and then they changed their answer to "it is policy". sheesh...they have a Goodwill store full of people, they both were not wearing masks mind you, and they are now all of a sudden afraid of covid? of course they do not say "thanks' for the donation. greedy, unprofessional, and worst - unreliable. never again will i donate to them. if i had known they were representing Goodwill, would've at least taken to another store location. Worst managers, incompetent.

I've got antique store in my blood (legitimately, not a turn of phrase: my paternal grandma used to own one), so I'm drawn to this kind of place, especially as thrifting/buying used is more environmentally-friendly (and we as a society desperately need to shift gears away from fast fashion). Immediately upon entry I glimpsed the signs that this place was inclusive of me and those like me. The pride flag, the genderless toilets marked humorously with "whatever" signs. I was drawn in. You can tell that a lot of the consignment owners put a good deal of effort into making each of their "cubicles" stand out and have individuality that matches their brand. Seeing as I was here at the tail end of September, that meant many of the booths were spooky-themed and/or had Halloween items for sale. Dangerous for anyone who's a fan of the holiday. I definitely plan to come back AFTER Halloween and see what Christmas decorations take their place! It'll probably feel like an entirely different experience dependent on the season! Anyway, the cool thing about a place like this (if you've never been to one) is that you don't have to worry about keeping track of which store you picked up what item from. They have tags on each item so the employee at the checkout counter can sort all that for you and collect a single amount from you to distribute appropriately among their consignment sellers. I noticed they have baskets you can grab to help you shop (also dangerous, lol) because this place is QUITE expansive and winding. Be sure to check around each nook and cranny to see it all! (But also keep in mind, stock will always be rotating, so there'll always be new things to see.) There's lots of clothes and apparel accessories, of course, but also lots of home decor items, media like books, CDs, VHS, records, etc., toys and more. Really you gotta go see it for yourself. You'll be wandering about in something akin to awe! I would say the prices are okay. This isn't a place you're going to find big bargains. But you won't get gouged either. It's a place to discover something from your childhood and reclaim it for a reasonable finder's fee, essentially. Long story short, I killed more than forty-five minutes here, well over what I needed, hahaha, and came out with a couple cute clown-themed things to add to my growing collection. Hooray! Also neat is that they have a coffee shop in the back that also serves things like pastries and sodas for a very reasonable price. This area is spacious with lots of seating; clearly it's meant as a place to gather and hangout with friends. They even had an NES set up on a TV to play if you wanted. Very queer-friendly. It probably deserves its own separate review.

But much of the accessories are quirky and unique: think doll hands for earrings kind of vibe! There's a decent amount of knick-knacks and giftables here as well, that are more local artisan made or new. The store can feel a bit overwhelming at first entrance, so take it by section and putz with an open mind. Prices were on par with higher-end vintage stores, but they do run some sales a few times each year. There is a dressing room with a curtain for trying things on!

I also bought two vintages designer lights and a couple pieces of glass labware to put cocktails in and put on the rolling cart to roll around the house (see above). I also bought a very cool looking gumball machine where you push down a little lever and a gumball comes out.** **I have put real gumballs and M&M peanuts in this thing and it has yet to spit out a gumball. It's pretty cool, though. OK, these guys have vintage cocktail glasses and shakers (do you see a problem here?) and more labware that I might buy. And a couple great vintage stands from a chemistry lab that has lots of clamps for test tubes. I'm trying to justify this one. My god!! They have two gigantic overhead light fixtures on rolling frames. If you live in one of those hoity-toity warehouses there is no excuse not to buy these. O, VINYL RECORDS YOU PEOPLE. SOUNDTRACK ALERT!! Endless Boogie was playing on their sound system. New favorite band. Ba-bump ba-bump ba-bump (Jaws) they are only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from about noon on.
