Dan Gould's was recommended by a friend so we went there. He was there, super friendly. Told us right away what the issue was (wrong type of crown, will always have issues w diamond being loose). Charged a more than reasonable price to completely replace the crown and I had it back less than 1 week later (unlike Kay's, which can be 2 weeks-6 months according to their reviews). I did my research online, read the dos and don'ts. What to look for and what to avoid, then I did research on certain companies. There were two things I specifically looked for; 1. Warranty convenience and 2. No large chains. I went to two local jewelers before I stopped by WDD. As I walked in I was immediately greeted. The staff was nice and attentive. I mentioned wanting to browse first as I felt comfortable by now. I knew the style and look I was going for and felt the need to scope out a few select rings before seeking help. After a few minutes I was ready. THE HELP Natalie was the one who guided me through the process. She was kind enough to help sift through the style I was looking for. She gave me great tips on what to look for. (i.e. in case it needed to be resized, the diamonds on the band shouldn't go all the way around. I wouldn't have thought of that.) Natalie was incredibly kind enough to put the ring on to help me visualize what it would look like on a hand. You would have no idea how helpful that was for me as the ring takes on an entirely different look. She was clear, never seemed annoyed and always attentive to my questions. She helped me make better choices rather than letting me go blindly at it. When it came time to choosing a diamond, she brought out a variety and let me choose what I was looking for. She must've went in back a dozen times before I found the one I wanted. The best part about Natalie helping me out is she wasn't vain. It wasn't about the larger diamond, it was about the way it sparkled, the way it reflected in the light and caught your eye. She mentioned I could spend money on the larger diamond or I could spend the same amount, get a slightly smaller diamond and be happier the way it reflects in the light. THE WARRANTY Natalie explained the warranty and truly that's what sold me. Most jewelers make their warranty a hassle. It's clear that other companies expect you to stop in every six months for a scheduled cleaning. You may not think it's a big deal, but it can be a bit of a pain. The idea is you can do it whenever you want. Knowing I wouldn't be in MN the next year or so, I couldn't make that commitment to other jewelers. The great thing about WDD is my fiancé can bring it into the store to be cleaned whenever she wants. If we're out of state for a year and do not come back, she can bring it in the next time we travel to MN. It's incredibly convenient! Also, if she loses the diamond but not the band, she can get it replaced under warranty and get the exact like diamond. This was all nearly a year ago. I did revisit a month ago to buy a necklace and Natalie once again helped me out. I honestly can't say I've never been more pleased with a nerve-wrecking process. Thanks WDD!
