It's packed with awesome antiques. John carries a lot of high end merchandise like antique gas pumps, signs, jukeboxes, neon, antique clocks, advertising, and vintage coin-op vending. Check out my photos...they'll give you a good idea of what this store is all about. Since there's one owner, John, he's free to sell whatever he wants. I'd say his shop has a lot of appeal for male antique collectors in particular...but not exclusively. I'd also say that a lot of his stuff is expensive and high end...but priced fairly considering the rarity. Definitely worth a stop! I stop by on a regular basis. I've got antique store in my blood (legitimately, not a turn of phrase: my paternal grandma used to own one), so I'm drawn to this kind of place, especially as thrifting/buying used is more environmentally-friendly (and we as a society desperately need to shift gears away from fast fashion). Immediately upon entry I glimpsed the signs that this place was inclusive of me and those like me. The pride flag, the genderless toilets marked humorously with "whatever" signs. I was drawn in. You can tell that a lot of the consignment owners put a good deal of effort into making each of their "cubicles" stand out and have individuality that matches their brand. Seeing as I was here at the tail end of September, that meant many of the booths were spooky-themed and/or had Halloween items for sale. Dangerous for anyone who's a fan of the holiday. I definitely plan to come back AFTER Halloween and see what Christmas decorations take their place! It'll probably feel like an entirely different experience dependent on the season! Anyway, the cool thing about a place like this (if you've never been to one) is that you don't have to worry about keeping track of which store you picked up what item from. They have tags on each item so the employee at the checkout counter can sort all that for you and collect a single amount from you to distribute appropriately among their consignment sellers. I noticed they have baskets you can grab to help you shop (also dangerous, lol) because this place is QUITE expansive and winding. Be sure to check around each nook and cranny to see it all! (But also keep in mind, stock will always be rotating, so there'll always be new things to see.) There's lots of clothes and apparel accessories, of course, but also lots of home decor items, media like books, CDs, VHS, records, etc., toys and more. Really you gotta go see it for yourself. You'll be wandering about in something akin to awe! I would say the prices are okay. This isn't a place you're going to find big bargains. But you won't get gouged either. It's a place to discover something from your childhood and reclaim it for a reasonable finder's fee, essentially. Long story short, I killed more than forty-five minutes here, well over what I needed, hahaha, and came out with a couple cute clown-themed things to add to my growing collection. Hooray! Also neat is that they have a coffee shop in the back that also serves things like pastries and sodas for a very reasonable price. This area is spacious with lots of seating; clearly it's meant as a place to gather and hangout with friends. They even had an NES set up on a TV to play if you wanted. Very queer-friendly. It probably deserves its own separate review.

You'll find anything made by a local MN artisan here. There's a section devoted to just the MN State Fair. It may be stuffed to the brim with things, but it is organized well. Bath, body, kitchen, cabin, baby, faith, sports, fashion, treats. I usually want it all. And it's a great place to find a birthday or thank you gift. They offer gift cards and have offered basic gift-wrapping in the past (ribbon tied on the bag). They also host artisan markets to showcase some vendors. They gave me a postcard for an upcoming event, which includes food trucks. Sis and I stopped in on our way to the Downtown Anoka shops. But I found everything for my bday peeps here. It takes up almost the entire "Old Post Office" building on downtown Anoka - 1st floor, 2nd floor, and basement. You enter up the big exterior steps and through the antique front doors. But the actual store entrance is inside the front lobby of the old US Post Office. The number of vendors and the quality of the merchandise is impressive. There seems to be something for everyone. I'd estimate about 10% of the merchandise can be considered non-antique items like hand made crafts and reproduction stuff. I particularly like one of the vendors on the 2nd floor. He has a lot of very high quality, rare, and fairly expensive stuff from early 1900s and a few things from the late 1800s. This dude has really good taste in antiques! My daughter liked the vendor in back, on the first floor, with a lot of music, beer, and Americana related stuff. Many of his things are reproductions but he also has a few originals here & there. My wife really liked the rock & roll stuff in the basement and some of the funky shoes. The two women that own Emerald Isle are also very nice and helpful. We really enjoyed talking to them. And they're packed with an incredible variety of quality merchandise. They have something for everyone. The prices are also very reasonable. I'd go so far as saying that Annie's Attic is one of the best antique malls within an hour drive outside the Twin Cities metro area. BTW, we stopped at the other places in Buffalo and they all paled in comparison to Annie's. (Unfortunately, we didn't make it in time to Walden Woods which looks like it might be pretty great.) It's in a 1947 glass front building. But it's also a really long building with a big section in the rear that looks like it used to be the garage or warehouse back in the day. Overall, the whole place is kind of messy, disorganized, and cluttered. The best thing about this shop is that there are several antique stores on the same block, all within a couple hundred feet of each other. My wife and I have been in this shop a couple of times and we both like it. I'd say it's probably 3 1/2 stars. It's owned, operated, and stocked primarily by a mother & daughter along with some other family members. Since this isn't a "mall" with hundreds of independent sellers, it's better than average because they're free to sell whatever they want...not just whatever small nick-nack crap they can cram into a little rented corner. Both the mother and the daughter are very nice. They're also dog lovers. This is reflected in the larger variety of canine themed antiques you can find sprinkled throughout the store. My wife and I get a kick out of this since we love dogs too. BTW, I talked to them about the previous negative review on Yelp. They told me that they have a policy of not buying anything from people who walk-in off the street. They have this policy out of a concern about not accidentally buying stolen merchandise. So they never buy from people who just come in with something, no matter what it is or how good it looks. Anyway...
