Issue after issue after issue. wrong size band wrong size gem, can't figure out how to properly customize a ring but measuring and getting what I want. finally a more experienced jeweler in the sprite measured the diamond going down the sides and for how far and we ordered what I can pay they finally got it right but it won t even arrive on time for our wedding... the diamond on the engagement ring fell out after only wearing it for 2 months. I mean planning a wedding is stressful. Rarely is picking out the ring the stressful part and this has been hell. I am not one to complain But I'm just really really really disappointed from start to finish. I would do anything to go back in time and go elsewhere. not to mention I'd we did it would probably be half the price. i mean we've paid thousands only to have to go buy a wedding band else where anyways to use for the ceremony?!?! When I expressed the way I was feeling I did not feel heard at all.

And although the former owner had retired and they had changed the store name to Croft and Stern Jewelry, the new owner Kelly explained that she had worked with my previous jeweler for several years and could provide the same custom design services. This was very important to me, because I am fairly particular and love special pieces for my wife to turn out just perfect. So, Kelly and I collaborated on an aquamarine ring (my wife's birthstone) offset by two small diamonds with the 3 stones, Kelly explained, signifying Past, Present and Future. And because my wife's hands are petite and because I didn't want anything that would upstage the wedding ring on her other hand, I explained I wanted the ring to be elegant but not ostentatious. In other words I wanted a sort of understated elegance. Well, Kelly worked with me every step of the way and, since we have retired to Florida, she emailed me images of the ring at every stage of the design, custom crafting the ring to incorporate any design tweaks based on my feedback and was wonderful to work with throughout the process. The bottom line is the ring turned out to be simply elegant and exactly what I wanted. Also the ring was/is to be a surprise, therefore all of the design tweaks, the payment and the shipment of the ring were handled completely discreetly. So, if you'd like a piece of custom jewelry designed for virtually any occasion, or would like to browse the beautiful collection they have in store, I would give Kelly and Croft & Stern Jewelry my strongest possible recommendation.

I was up at a friend's cabin nearby and when the weather changed to rain, we stopped into Buffalo for some antique shopping. Buffalo Nickel was our first stop and no other store compared. Buffalo Nickel goes on and on and on. There are 2 levels and it can take some time to sort through all the goodies. There are adorable whimsy baby items, seasonal sections such as fall and Halloween, shoes, coffee cups, wall decor and more. You name it and they probably have it. Make sure to factor in extra time as to thoroughly go through each vendor, do expect to comb through items. I also appreciated the little coffee stand near the cashier with various baked goods. The prices were fair. I can't wait to return!! Open daily 10 am until 6 pm. I don't think the building has air conditioning so it was a little toasty.
